The story below is based on the characters from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. I own nothing of the show. This is purely fictitious and written for the enjoyment of my readers and myself. All rights go to the proper parties.

This story is going well so far. Thank you for all the reviews and the support. I'm still deciding on some parts to this story, but I have a general idea and an ending in mind. Enjoy the new chapter!

Cat Noir lands softly on a rooftop near Marinette's balcony, stopped by the sight of Marinette sketching in her chair. He watches her for a moment before jumping to land on her balcony. Marinette startles before smiling at the hero in front of her.

"Hey Cat Noir," she says.

"Good evening, Princess. How are you on this fine night?" He responds flirtatiously.

Marinette rolls her eyes before responding, "I'm doing well, Kitty Cat. And how are you?"

"Purrrrfect." He responds. Silence passes over the duo as they struggle to find what to say. Cat Noir doesn't know if he should tell Marinette he's checking on her health. She told him not to worry about her, and she may not approve of his decision to check up on her. He just wants her to be safe.

Marinette sits in silence with Cat Noir. She doesn't know why Cat Noir decided to visit her again, but she's happy for the company. After the strange day she had, Cat's quiet presence is doing a lot to ease her mind.

Marinette breaks the silence first, "Would you like to join me inside? I have some croissants that my parents baked waiting for me on my desk."

Cat Noir smiles wide, "I would love to, Marinette." He walks to the trap door and holds it open for her. "After you, Princess," he says bowing.

"Thank you, Kitty." She responds as she climbs into her room and towards her desk.

Cat Noir follows closely behind her. Watching her retreat into the bedroom and grab a delicious plate of croissants off her desk. "Those look amazing." Cat Noir says, his mouth already watering.

Marinette offers him the plate before saying, "They are amazing. I grabbed way too many for myself, so help yourself to as many as you want." She hands the plate to Cat Noir and takes a seat on her chaise.

"Thank you Marinette." Cat Noir exclaims. He takes a seat next to Marinette before digging into the croissants now occupying his lap.

"So…" Marinette starts, "what brings you here today?"

"Hmmm?" Cat Noir responds with his mouth full of croissants.

Marinette flushes, afraid that he may think that she wasn't happy with this visit. "Not that I'm not happy you're here. I'm actually really glad you came. I'm always happy when you visit. Your presence is soothing and I needed soothing after the strange day I had," Marinette rants.

Cat Noir swallows his mouthful and chuckles lightly. "I'm happy when I visit you too, Purrrincess," he purrs. "Do you want to talk about your strange day?" He asks, uncertain about how her day could have been strange. It seemed like a normal day to him. Maybe something happened after school?

Marinette steals herself, preparing to share her day with Cat Noir, "w-well, one of my f-friends was acting sort-of strange at school." She startles, "not that he's strange! No, he's perfect. I mean! He's normal, just a normal student. Well, not a normal student. He's more… special? No, not special… Hot? Wait no! Ughhhhh." She groans and places her head in her hands.

Cat Noir chuckles again and places the plate of croissants to the side. He didn't notice anybody acting strange today. Especially someone that she seems to have trouble talking about. Who could she be taking about? Wait, could she be talking about me? Cat Noir wonders. He doesn't recall acting strange. All he did was try to spend more time with her and watch over her. Maybe that was considered strange? Wait, did she say hot? Cat Noir questions himself.

"Do you want to talk about this 'normal, special, strange, hot,' boy?" Cat Noir asks teasingly.

Marinette flushes more. Embarrassed by how she described Adrien. "It's not a big deal. He just paid more attention to me today. It was like he had to keep me in his sights all day. Like something would happen to me if he wasn't around. It was nice to have him close, he even ate lunch with me, but it was different." Marinette explains.

She's definitely talking about me. Cat Noir thinks. Just to be sure he asks, "Does this friend have a name?"

Marinette pauses for a moment, deciding if it would be wise to share who she's talking about with him. It's not like she admitted to liking Adrien or anything of the sort. It shouldn't be harmful to share his name. After a short silence, Marinette answers, "It's A-Adrien. Adrien Agreste."

Cat Noir smiles teasingly. "Ahh, the model boy. He's the one that all the girls were fighting over during the akuma fight with Oni-chan. I believe Kagami was upset over a photo sent to her by that Lila girl." Cat Noir states.

"That's the one." Marinette confirms.

"So Mister model boy is hot to you, huh?" Cat Noir teases leaning close to Marinette. He places his hand on his chin and continues, "I personally think I'm hotter, don't you?"

Marinette squeaks and blushes redder than Ladybug. She struggles to speak as Cat Noir begins to laugh. Satisfied with the state he put Marinette in with just a few choice words. He smiles at her sweetly before placing a hand on her cheek. Marinette stops attempting to speak and looks at Cat Noir. Her face is still flushed, but she's able to breathe calmly.

Cat Noir loses himself in her eyes. Big, beautiful, bluebell eyes. Eyes that are so familiar to him and yet so unfamiliar as well. Ladybug has these same eyes. Eyes like his mother's, big beautiful, and full of so much love and kindness. Eyes that anyone could drown in if they're not careful. Eyes that see into the soul and pull out the best in people. Eyes anyone could easily fall in love with.

Cat Noir's thoughts are interrupted when Marinette pulls away from his grasp. Cheeks still flushed by eyes now looking confused. She clears her throat, "um, I think you should go now, Kitty. I need to start getting ready for bed and I'm sure you do too."

Cat Noir blinks, surprised, "Oh, um, you're right. I should get going." He stands up, but not before grabbing Marinette's hand and placing a soft kiss on her knuckles. "Goodnight, Princess. Until I see you again." He says before exiting Marinette's room.

"Tikki," Marinette calls, "did you see that?"

"Did I see what, Marinette?" Tikki responds.

"The way he was looking at me Tikki. I've never had him look at me so intently before. I've caught him giving Ladybug loving stares, but he's never held my face and stared into my eyes like that before." Marinette blushes at the memory.

"I'm sorry Marinette, but I didn't see. I was hiding with the other kwami so that Cat Noir wouldn't see us." Tikki states.

Marinette ponders what his look could mean. Was Cat Noir falling for Marinette? Could he tell that Marinette is Ladybug? Was he thinking of a pun to share and just got lost in his head unknowingly staying in such an intimate position? It's probably the last one Marinette decides. She continues to recall the conversation she had with Cat Noir before suddenly remembering something.

"He never told me why he visited!" Marinette exclaims. "He distracted me by asking about Adrien!" Marinette grumbles as she lays face down on her chaise.

~Meanwhile~

Cat Noir detransforms as he lands in his bedroom. He smiles to himself at the memory of his conversation with Marinette.

"Ugh, you're making that lovesick expression again. Just tell Pigtails how you feel already," Plagg complains.

"I am not!" Adrien protests. "Besides, Marinette is just a friend. A very good friend." Adrien defends.

"You don't make that face when thinking of friends." Plagg retorts. "You also don't stare lovingly into their eyes for nearly 10 straight minutes." He finishes.

Adrien flushes, "Was it really that long?"

Plagg doesn't answer. He flies towards his camembert and laves Adrien to gather his feelings on his own.

Adrien doesn't know how long he laid on his couch thinking of his time with Marinette. He doesn't know when he fell asleep, still dressed in his clothes from the previous day, but he knows he spent the night on his couch from the knock on his door and the slight pain in his neck. Dreams of Ladybug, Multimouse, and Marinette flash through his mind. Pretty bluebell eyes calling for him and begging him to once again get lost in them. Adrien doesn't know what to think about last night at Marinette's. He doesn't know how to process the dreams of her.

Adrien get's up to begin his routine for the morning as he continues to process his thoughts. There are two things he knows for sure. One, he can't get Marinette out of his head, and two, he doesn't want to. Adrien hurries to finish getting ready before he rushes out the door and into his car. He can't wait to see Marinette.
