Chapter 7: Annie
Tan POV
I'm standing by the caution tape when I see a familiar face in the crowd; Annie.
"Tan! Oh my god. I saw it on the news and I had to come. Can you get David to come here? I know I shouldn't be here, but I need to see him." She says frantically. I know what I have to do but that doesn't make it any easier. I go to her and I let her under the tape and I take her to Hondo and the group stationed at Hicks' mobile command.
"Listen Annie, Deacon and Chris didn't make it out in time. Now our sources tell us they are probably alive, but we won't know more till we get the fire under control or locate them. That could be an hour or a couple of hours. You are welcome to stay with Hicks to get the latest news." I say, Annie's eyes widen in fear and she begins to cry, I hold her as she cries. All I can really do is tell her to not lose hope and I lead her to Hicks' little command station, Hicks says he'll keep her company while I go back to Hondo.
"You did a good job with her Tan, now we think that-" Hondo says when sound comes from the house. We all turn and see the back part of the house give in. "That was where we though Chris and Deacon could be, the living room" Hondo finishes as I watch part of it collapse then a few moments later the whole back of the house collapses. That's when I hear Annie's cry for David, her Deacon.
