The story below is based on the characters from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. I own nothing of the show. This is purely fictitious and written for the enjoyment of my readers and myself. All rights go to the proper parties.

This chapter was kinda fun to write. I hope you enjoy it. Again, thank you for the hearts, follows, and reviews/comments.

Cat Noir lands on Marinette's balcony after patrol. Paris has been watched over, Plagg has been fed, and Cat Noir is ready to get some answers. Before he gets a chance to knock on the trap door, Marinette opens it and looks up at him.

"I thought I heard you out here," she says. She motions for him to follow her inside and he does.

They make their way to her chaise lounge in silence. Cat Noir watches Marinette in anticipation, he wants to know what she knows. He wants answers, and Marinette may have them. He clears his throat, preparing to speak.

Marinette speaks first, "Ladybug said that you had some questions for me. I think I already know what they are, and I'm prepared to answer, but I need you to promise me something first." She says.

"Anything, Marinette. I can promise you anything." He breathes, grabbing her hand in his.

Marinette sighs, "promise that you won't be mad. That you won't hate me once you know everything.

"I could never hate you Marinette, never." He states confidently, "and I promise I'll refrain from getting mad. I just want answers." He finishes.

Marinette sighs in relief before starting, "I lied to you. Ladybug and I both did. I can use a miraculous still." Cat Noir gasps. "Using too many is still dangerous, and I did feel mentally and physically drained after Kwamibuster. I also felt sluggish after this last akuma too. Using too many is dangerous for anyone, but the previous guardian is confident that I'm mentally strong enough to handle a few. So long as I'm careful and don't do it all the time. Handling one or two regularly will be no problem for me." Marinette finishes.

"Then why did Ladybug and you say that you couldn't have a miraculous at all? Why did Ladybug refuse to let you be Multimouse?" Cat Noir questions.

"Ahh. I'll have to save that answer for last." Marinette says.

"Okay, then how about the illusion? Can you tell me why you made it?" He asks.

Marinette sighs, "I did it to help protect Ladybug's identity. She was at risk of being revealed. She needed the illusion to prevent you and anyone else from finding out who she is."

"So her identity was at risk?" He confirms, "why couldn't she tell me at patrol Yesterday?"

"She tried to come up with a different excuse but couldn't. She was afraid that you would learn her identity if she told you the illusion was to keep her identity safe." Marinette answers.

"You sure do know a lot, Marinette. Are you and Ladybug close? Do you know who she is?" Cat Noir asks cautiously.

"We are very close," Marinette chuckles, "and I do know who she is." She finishes.

Cat Noir gasps, his eyes widen, "I can't believe she revealed her identity to you. She said no one must know. Why did she tell you?" He demands.

Marinette ignores his last question in favor of telling him another truth, "I'm not the only one that knows. Rena Rouge does too." Cat Noir gasps, "and before you get upset, Rena Rouge knows because Ladybug was falling apart. After becoming the guardian, she lost her boyfriend and nearly lost all her closest friends in the same week. Her friends forgave her for her behavior and associated it with her recent break up, but Rena Rouge, as a civilian, suspected there was more going on. Ladybug revealed herself after breaking down to her best friend from her civilian identity." Marinette finishes.

Cat Noir stares at Marinette wide eyed. "Do you know who Rena Rouge is too?" He asks. Completely in shock by how much Marinette knows.

"Yes." She states simply, "I actually know every miraculous holder, apart from you."

Cat Noir looks at Marinette in awe. How can this girl know so much about everything. How does she have time to help ladybug, complete commissions for her friends, be the class representative, help her parents in the bakery, create new designs, and still help all her friends with anything they need. "How do you do it?" He asks.

Marinette looks at him confused, "how do I do what?"

"How do you help everyone around you? How do you find the time to take care of everyone?" He clarifies.

Marinette looks at him. She ponders his question for a few moments before quietly responding, "I don't know, sometimes I feel like everything in my life is falling to pieces. Like I'm doing everything wrong and there's nothing I can do to make things right. There's so much responsibility on my shoulders and sometimes, it's suffocating. I do my best to help everyone around me, but I don't always have time to take care of myself." She quietly responds.

"You really are amazing, Marinette. You always find a way to help those around you and to cheer everyone up. You stand up for what's right and you take care of your friends." Cat Noir gushes.

Marinette blushes and scoffs at the idea of her being amazing, "I don't know about being amazing. I'm clumsy, I fall all the time, and I stutter like crazy around the boy I like. I can't even admit my feelings to him without getting tongue tied and saying something incoherent or stupid." Marinette says.

Cat Noir chuckles, "your clumsiness is part of your charm, and if the boy you like doesn't notice you and like you in spite of your stuttering and clumsy nature, than he doesn't deserve you. A princess like you deserves to be swept off her feet and loved unconditionally." He declares.

Marinette's cheeks flush and she smiles shyly at Cat Noir, "you always know what to say to cheer me up.''

Cat Noir smiles at her and cups her cheek, "you deserve to be happy Marinette. You shouldn't have so much on your shoulders. Why do you know so much? How do you know who everyone is?" Cat Noir asks softly.

Marinette sighs, "I helped to choose each holder." Marinette states.

Cat Noir's eyes widened, "you helped to choose them? All of them?" He asks.

"Yes. I'm sure you know who a couple of the holders are. You know Ryuko is Kagami since you were around when she was first given the miraculous. You know that I was Multimouse. You also knew Queen Bee, but everyone already knows her identity. I believe you know who Pegasus is as well" Marinette explains, "Ryuko wasn't just chosen based on her connection to the villain. She was also chosen because I know her to be a strong willed and caring person. I knew that she would make a great holder."

Cat Noir nods his head listening to Marinette explain the choices for each hero. She continues, "Rena Rouge was chosen because she's a great ally and friend. She's trustworthy and loyal to Ladybug and you. Carapace was chosen because of his strong desire to protect those closest to him. Queen Bee wasn't really chosen, but she was used again so that Chloe would have the opportunity to redeem herself and be a better person. She idolized Ladybug and just wanted to help. Sadly things didn't go too well there." Cat Noir nods in agreement. "Pegasus was chosen because of his connection to the akuma and how loyal he is to his friends and family. Viperion wasn't the first choice for the snake miraculous, but he was the right choice. He's patient and perceptive. He fits the snake miraculous perfectly." Cat Noir nods in agreement, his time as Aspik showed him how patient and perceptive the snake holder must be. "Polymouse was also one that I helped to choose. She's sweet and kind. She fights for what she believes in even if it scares her. She fit the mouse miraculous much better than I do." Marinette finishes.

"So you know everyone. You helped choose every one of the miraculous holders." Cat Noir says in awe.

"I did. I also knew the guardian before I became Multimouse. That's why I was able to carry all the miraculous with me when we fought Kwamibuster." Marinette confirms.

"Why did Master Fu make Ladybug the guardian instead of you? If you helped choose every holder, then it would only make sense for you to become the guardian. It seems like he was training you." Cat Noir says.

"He was training Ladybug. She's the only one it could have been." Marinette states confidently.

"Then why were you so involved in everything, and how come I'm only just now hearing about your involvement? Have you always been involved? From the beginning?" He asks.

"I think I can finally answer your biggest question, Cat Noir." Marinette says.

"My biggest question?" He asks.

"You want to know who Ladybug is, right?" She states.

Cat Noir swallows hard, his eyes widening, his heart beats rapidly. Is he finally going to know his Lady's identity? "Are you sure Ladybug is okay with you revealing her identity?" He asks cautiously.

"I am. It's time you know. No more tricks, no more lies, only answers from here on out. We all need closure and this is the only way we can get it." Marinette states.

Cat Noir watches her cautiously. His breathing turning shallow and his heart fighting to beat out of his chest. "W-who is s-she?" He stutters.

He begins to sweat as his nervousness skyrockets. He watches Marinette both in fear and in awe. She's about to tell him the biggest secret of his life and he doesn't know how to handle it. His throat hurts and his body goes rigid.

Marinette steels her nerves. She looks Cat Noir straight in the eyes and confidently says, "She's me."
