The story below is based on the characters from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. I own nothing of the show. This is purely fictitious and written for the enjoyment of my readers and myself. All rights go to the proper parties.
The next chapter will be the last one. I'm sorry if you were hoping for more, but continuing this story will require me to divert from the main idea that this story came from. Which was Cat Noir's curiosity with Multimouse not being used anymore. The only other place this can go is towards a final battle with Shadowmoth, and they are simply not ready for that. I don't want to stretch this out and give you subpar content. Adrien and Marinette deserve to be happy as they look towards the future and prepare for their final confrontation with Shadowmoth.
You won't have to wait long for the next chapter. It is nearly finished and I will post it in a 3 hours or less. Please enjoy!
"Who's Cat Blanc?" Adrien asks.
"He's you. Or you from an alternate timeline." Marinette explains. "Do you remember your fifth names day?"
"Yes. You delivered a present from a fan club of mine. Brazil, I think?" Adrien responds.
Marinette blushes, "yes, well, actually it was from me." Marinette corrects.
"I knew the quality was familiar! Why didn't you say it was from you?" Adrien asks.
"In the alternate timeline, I signed the gift, and it led to you learning my identity." Marinette explains.
Adrien gasps, "I learned your identity? That was months ago! I could have known who you were way before now! Why did you erase your signature?" He complains.
"Somehow, you learning about my identity caused you to be akumatised. Bunnix came and brought me to the future." Marinette shutters. "Cat Blanc was all alone. You had icy blue eyes, white hair, and a white suit. Paris was underwater, literally, and the moon was blown in half."
Cat Noir gasps, "H-how could learning your identity cause me to be akumatised?"
"I-I'm not sure what caused it. Cat Blanc said it was our love that destroyed the world. He knew my identity and claimed I broke his heart." Marinette says.
"That's impossible, you would never hurt me, M'Lady." Adrien reassures.
Marinette frowns, "I've done nothing but hurt you these past few days. I've tortured you with concern and confusion."
"But you found a solution. You made everything better. You told me the truth and revealed your identity." He reassures.
Marinette smiles softly, "I couldn't handle hurting you anymore."
Adrien smiles softly, "thank you for sharing all this with me." He says.
Marinette smiles before continuing, "there's more to Cat Blanc. He destroyed everything and everyone before I arrived in the future. I found the timelines Hawkmoth, a-and m-me." She stutters.
"W-what happened to them?" He asks.
Marinette looks away, "Cat Blanc cataclysmed them." Adrien gasps. "They were like statues under the water. I touched Ladybug and she turned to dust."
"I would never do that, Marinette." Adrien reassures.
"I know, Adrien, but akumas don't always have full control. You can never be akumatised. If Shadowmoth gets either one of us, it could spell disaster for not only Paris, but the world." Marinette declares.
"He will never get us," Adrien says confidently, "we both know the consequences, we know each other's identities, and we will protect each other with everything we have. It's us against the world."
Marinette smiles, "Always." She responds.
Adrien moves closer to her and leans his forehead on hers. "Is there anything else you've been keeping secret."
Marinette fidgets, "well, now that you mention it. There are a few secrets I've kept from you as Adrien." She admits.
"Oh? Does this relate to your secret crush?" He teases.
"A-a bit, y-yes." She stutters.
"Well, what is it?" Adrien asks.
Marinette takes a deep breath, "I-stole-your-phone-to-delete-a-voicemail-of-me-asking-you-to-the-movies-and-calling-you-hot-stuff!" She says in one breathe.
Adrien looks at her startled, "you stole my phone? When was that?" He exclaims. "Wait, hot stuff?" He questions flirtatiously.
Marinette groans, "I stole it the day we fought Copycat."
"Wait, is that why you weren't at the statue unveiling? You were too busy stealing my phone from the boys locker room?" Adrien asks.
Marinette squeaks out, "yes."
Adrien chuckles, "wow. I thought I was going crazy when I couldn't find it and then it magically appeared again."
"You're not mad?" Marinette asks.
Adrien smiles, "no, we both did something stupid that day. I got Theo akumatised because I was jealous of his crush on you. I may have implied that we were a couple." Adrien admits.
"You did what? Kitty, that's so irresponsible." Marinette chides.
"You're one to talk, Miss phone thief." Adrien retorts.
"Touché," Marinette says, "there's one more thing that I haven't told you."
"I hope you haven't stolen anything else." Adrien teases.
"No, nothing like that. Do you remember your birthday?" Marinette asks.
"How could I forget? Nino got akumatised and threw me a party where all our friends were forced to have fun or be trapped in one of his bubbles." Adrien says sardonically.
"Yeah, I also used my lucky charm to change the music so Chloé would stop slow dancing with you." Marinette admits.
"And you called me irresponsible," Adrien says in mock hurt, "but I should probably thank you for that. She was making me uncomfortable." Adrien admits.
"You're welcome." Marinette smiles, "but that's not what I needed to tell you. I made you a gift for your birthday, but somehow my note didn't stay with it." Marinette says.
"I don't remember any presents from you, or anyone other than my father." Adrien says, genuinely trying to figure out where Marinette's gift could have ended up.
"I'm not sure what happened, but you did get my gift. You just didn't know it was from me." Marinette says.
"I did?" Adrien asks. Scratching his head as he tries to remember another present.
Marinette looks away and says, "You were so happy when you came to school with it on," Adrien's eyes widen, "I couldn't tell you the truth and take that away." Marinette finishes.
"Y-you made my scarf?" Adrien asks, stunned.
"I did. I don't know why you were told it was from your father, or how it happened, but I couldn't tell you the truth. You were so happy, and that's what mattered the most." Marinette explains.
"I can't believe he would do that. I can't believe Nathalie would do that. The only thing special my father has ever given me wasn't even his to give." Adrien says bitterly.
"I'm sorry, Adrien. I didn't want to hurt you." Marinette says quietly, placing her hand on his shoulder and rubbing it softly.
"You have no reason to be sorry, Marinette. This isn't your fault. You should be just as upset as I am at my father. He stole the gift that you made for me and played it off as his own." Adrien pauses. "Unless Nathalie did it and my father doesn't even know." He says solemnly.
"Oh Kitty," Marinette says as she hugs Adrien.
"Thank you, Marinette. For giving me an amazing present. You really are an everyday Ladybug." Adrien chuckles, "I should have known you were the real deal too." Adrien smiles warmly. "Is there anything else you need to share with me?" He asks suggestively.
Marinette nods her head. "There is one more thing."
Adrien holds back a groan, trying not to be impatient with Marinette, "and what's that?"
Marinette looks Adrien in his eyes, she moves her hand to the back of his neck and softly rubs his skin with her thumb. She bites her lip and says, "I'd like to kiss you too."
With those words Adrien quickly closes the small gap between them. His lips press softly against hers. Marinette's eyes flutter shut as Adrien's sweet embrace envelopes her. Warmth fills her chest and her body ignites as he deepens the kiss. Dizziness overwhelms her as Adrien's scent fills her nose, the familiar scent of Adrien mixed with the scent she associates with her kitty. Marinette's lips part as she gasps for breath. Adrien takes the invitation and intertwines their tongues. For a moment they're lost, drowning in the sensation of kissing the one they love. All their senses focused on this one moment of bliss and pleasure.
They kiss passionately, tongues dancing, moans escaping, hands roaming. Adrien is the first to part. Eyes heavy and his breathing ragged, "I love you, Marinette." He says sincerely.
Marinette's breath hitches, she smiles and launches herself at Adrien for another kiss. After what feels like hours, Marinette pauses to catch her breath, "I love you too, Kitty." She responds happily before continuing their kiss once more.
