Author's Note: No one asked for this but I'm writing this cause I want to XD. I just love these three and find them adorable together! Don't judge me please. I've always enjoyed poly relationships and wanted to write a story involving this. So when I thought of who to have in this poly relationship; Zoey, Duncan and Heather popped into my head. This is mainly for fun.

Summary: It had taken 2 years until Duncan was finally released. Once he was out of jail, he decided to see if his old friends would help him out. Zoey was quick to help her friend in need, even though her girlfriend was slightly against it. Duncan begins to live with them, their friendship revives and so does some romance between the three.

Warning: this fic will involve smut, fluff, angst, jealousy, friends to lovers and polyamory. Hope ya'll enjoy!

Courtney huffs in frustration, leaning back into her chair. Closing her eyes for a moment of relaxation. She has been swimming in paperwork for over an hour. Being a lawyer can be exhausting! Her last case has certainly taken all of her energy. Even if her job wears her out, she still loves it. Courtney felt like a superhero, making victories seem possible even with little to support her client. Every time she freed a client, she felt like she was improving society. A knock on her office door makes Courtney break from her thoughts. She opens her eyes, looking over to the door. "Come in!" The door opens to reveal it was Scott. The two have been in a relationship for 4 months now. 4 months without breaking up; that is a record for them.

Scott laughs awkwardly, "Hey Court, you're not gunna believe who's at the door right now." She stands up from her chair with a groan.

"If it's Stephanie again, tell her I'll get those papers done by tonight." Courtney begins to walk over to her open window. Which overlooks her back garden. Noting that the roses were blooming in the bright sun. "Uh, it's actually an old friend. He wants to ask you something." Courtney turns to gaze at her boyfriend, noting his awkward demeanour. Something tells her this old friend isn't going to be a good sight for her.

"Oh.. well, I guess I'll come down for a sec." She goes to Scott's side, both now began walking down the hallway. Passing some framed photos of them. Courtney would keep them up even after they would take a break from one another. Mostly because she knew they'd get back together in the end. Another reason was that she didn't want to forget all the good moments they have. Even with all of their arguing and breaks, she still loves Scott.

"You should take a break from your work, you know." Scott comments. Courtney raises an eyebrow in question. "I've seen how you've been acting. Since you got all of this work, you rarely get out of that office." Courtney sighs, as they begin to step down the stairs.

"I know, but I'm so close to finishing and I-" She pauses upon being eye level to the open front door. It was a man who looks to be around the same age as her (24): wearing a black tank top, some dark blue jeans and white sneakers. His hair styled in a Mohawk, the colour fading from black to green near the tips. Along with a beard that wasn't too bushy. There seemed to be a scar crossing the left corner of his lips; surely he has more scars on his body. He probably had the same amount of scar as tattoos. His shirt exposed his arms, those large biceps covered in black ink. She noticed one of the tattoos was of a skull surrounded by roses. The man had bags underneath his eyes. As if he hasn't gotten any sleep in days. He looked to be a person Courtney wouldn't recognize, but she will always remember those beautiful blue eyes. "Duncan?"

He smiles, gripping the strap of his duffel bag. Scott looks back and forth between them, feeling how intense this was. "I'll... go and get some drinks." He fast walks into the kitchen. Duncan lets out a quick chuckle, "So, you and farm boy are together?"

"Y-yeah. 4 months now." Courtney shakes her head, breaking out of her surprised state. "What are you doing here Duncan? Shouldn't you be with your parents or something?"

He kicks a small rock off of the doorstep. "I should be, but I can't talk with them right now." Courtney tilts her head, Duncan swiftly answers before she can even speak. "Relatives are on holiday. Won't see them for a while. So, I know this is gunna be out of the blue, but I need a place to stay." Courtney's eyes widen. Did he expect her to actually let him stay at hers? Although her hatred for Duncan has died down, there is no way she'd let a former prisoner live at hers. What would the public think? She's a lawyer and can't have him live with her; it could potentially make her look bad. Courtney edges to the door, placing her hand onto the handle.

She sighs, "Look, Duncan, I'd love to offer you a place but I don't have much room for you. Sorry." She begins to close the door, only for Duncan to wedge his foot between the door. "I can sleep on the couch. Trust me, it will much better than the prisons bed I've been sleeping in for the past years."

"Sorry Duncan. There's a motel just a couple blocks away, you can stay there!" Courtney manages to close the door properly. Leaving him at her doorstep irritated. 'Well, fuck me. I might as well check out that cafe. I could steal someone's food before looking for that motel' Duncan thought, walking away from the house and down the street. Courtney twists on her heels, leaning her back against the door. Placing her palm against her forehead. Why was he out now? Good behaviour probably, but that's not really believable for her.

She mumbles something as Scott comes back. Holding two coffee's with both hands, "Here I- oh, did he leave?" She nods, pushing herself off of the door. Then follows Scott into the living room, sitting down to have the coffee that was for Duncan.

"Yeah..." She lets out an exhausted sigh. "I can't believe he'd think I would just let him. I mean; I'm a fucking lawyer! How would it look for me to have an ex-criminal at my place?"

All Scott does is shrug his shoulders, not fully sure on how to respond. He just allows Courtney to ramble on, occasionally nodding or shaking his head. During her ranting, their home phone begins to ring. Scott stands up and walks over to the small counter to answer it, "Hello?" He asks, lifting the phone against his ear.

"Oh, hey there Scott! Is Courtney there? I've sewn up her suit jacket and wanted to know when there's a good time to give it back." His eyes shift to Courtney, who still seems to be steaming from her interaction with Duncan. It would be best if he let her have a moment to relax. "Erm, yeah, I think you should wait an hour before asking her."

"What? Why?"

"Well, Duncan was released and asked to stay over."

A loud gasp came from the receiver of the phone. "Really!? I thought he'd leave prison in September." Scott scoffs, taking a short glance over to Courtney. She had finished the coffee and was now turning on the TV. Most likely to turn on her comfort show. "Guess he was let on early thanks to good behaviour." Zoey lets out a small giggle at his comment. "Well, you wouldn't mind if I can talk with Duncan?" Zoey assumes they allowed him to stay at theirs.

Scott has a small laugh, "What? The dude just left. Courtney told him to go away or something. Might be going to motel or his parents." Zoey only responds with an 'oh'. It was silent for a moment, making the call become awkward. Until Zoey pipes up, "I-I guess I should call later then. See ya later!" Scott says his goodbyes before hanging up.

Zoey drops her phone back into her bag. She was about to leave to give Courtney her suit jacket back, but she now has other plans. It surprised the redhead that Duncan was out early. The last time she talked with him -which was 3 weeks ago- he said he was unsure he'd be leaving in 4 months. That there was a chance he'd stay in longer. Zoey bites her bottom lip as she rests her chin on her index finger. Thinking of a way to help and find her friend. This doesn't go unnoticed by her girlfriend. Who originally was joining her to see Courtney. "Er, why are you just standing in front of the door? I thought we were going to Courtneys?"

She pauses the ideas in her head to turn around, viewing Heather with her hands on her hips. Zoey smiles, "Oh well, we were going to but- that's changed."

Heather scoffs, "Don't tell me she has more stuff for you to fix?" Zoey shakes her head with a small chuckle. Before moving toward her girlfriend to place her hand- which was previously against her chin- to Heathers shoulder.

"No no! I-it's not that. It's -well-" She pauses to have another chuckle. Worrying about how Heather would react to the news about Duncan. She knows her girlfriend isn't the biggest fan of his right now. It was obvious that Heather got a bit jealous when Zoey went to visit him in prison. Zoey never understood why she was jealous; Duncan and her were just friends. Then again, she seems to be the only person to see him. Heather witnessed the love triangle back in World Tour. How Duncan had no regrets kissing Gwen. It seemed that he didn't care about ruining a friendship and his own relationship with Courtney. She worries that this could happen with her and Zoey; that Duncan would try and steal her angel. Like hell, Heather would let some dirty criminal take her babe from her.

"Duncan's out of jail." Heathers eyes widen, a quiet gasp leaving her lips. Her worries have now heightened higher. She removes Zoey's hand off her shoulder.

"W-what?! I thought-"

"He was going out in September I know." Zoey interrupts rapidly. "Scott says he might of got out early from his good behaviour." Heather couldn't stop the small laugh leaving her throat. As if Duncan has even been on good behaviour. Zoey gives her a pout before continuing, "Anyway, I'm going to try and find him. Scott said he may have gone to a motel." Although that information is little, Zoey suspects Duncan may of gone to a motel near Courtney's area.

"So? Why do you care so much about him?"

Zoey gives Heather a questionable look, "Erm, because he's my friend?" Heather huffs, turning her back to face the redhead.

"Whatever. Just, be on guard when you're near him." She warns, before stomping off into the kitchen. Not allowing Zoey a chance to defend the ex-criminal. Zoey sighs at her girlfriends stubbornest. Even though she understands why Heather is defensive of helping Duncan, Zoey is still Duncan's friend. Possibly the only one that regularly visited him in prison. She can't leave a friend with no money or support. She turns back to the front door, opening it and heading to Courtneys neighbourhood. Now on the search for her friend.
