Authors note: Hello, I am alive. Hahaha. After the past year and a half, it does feel go to say that I will admit. But anyways onto less sad topics. I know I have a story that don't have much of an ending. I am sorry but I don't see it being continued anytime soon. My NCIS muses are just not there anymore. To be honest NCIS isn't what it use to be for me. Lately I have started watching criminal minds on DISNEY+ and I love it. This story starts around mid season two. Prentiss has been there for roughly three months.
I do not own Criminal minds or its characters. This story contains corporal punishment in later chapters. Not your think that's cool don't read it. Don't read just to judge someone else's choices.
I do however own the OC of Lorelai Davies and I love her.
Happy Readings

Lorelai was on the elevator of the FBI building. It was her first day of what she hoped would be the career that she was expecting. The director had come to her university to deliver a speech to the graduating class of her criminology program. She had apparently caught his eye. He was confused as so many others often were when they saw her and thought she couldn't be any older than fourteen. She always looked younger than she was. The director had gotten copies of her transcripts and was impressed with her grades and with how she had made it where she was out of the foster care system and apparently, the FBI had a good history with another young very intelligent person that he was interested in hiring her as a profiler. He had spoken to her and asked her if she was interested in joining the FBI academy and becoming an FBI agent. The truth was she hadn't been sure what she wanted to do after graduation. Just getting to her graduation was a big deal. She took the invitation as a sign that it was worth at least trying.
She pulled at the sleeve on her maroon sweater and ran her hands along the base of it making sure it sat flat against her pants. She didn't feel completely comfortable with her outfit, but she knew this is what was acceptable, and she wasn't about to ruffle any feathers on her first day. Or anytime soon for that matter. The door dinged as it opened to her floor, and she saw agents sitting at desks typing on computers. She stepped out and looked around, she was looking for Agent Hotchner the BAU chief. An agent was passing by Lorelai asked him where she could find Agent Hotchner's office. She was directed towards a set of stairs that led up to two offices. One had the name of the man she was looking for on it.
Hotch was in his office, he had been informed by the director that there was a new agent coming wasn't told much about her. Just that she was intelligent maybe even more so than Reid. That was going to be tough to believe but either way the team getting a new member was going to change the dynamic. It wouldn't be the first time the team would get a new member. He thought back just three months to when Emily Prentiss had joined the team. That was a different situation. They were down a member after Elle had left. Right now, they had a full team and adding a new member might cause some issues. However, it could be a good thing, right? The small knock on his door brought his attention from his memories. "Enter." He called out.
Lorelai took a deep breathe before entering the office.
"Hello Sir. I'm Lorelai Davies I was told to report to you." Hotch raised an eyebrow. Was this a joke? This was not the agent the director was talking about. She was a child. I mean Reid was young. But not -that young. "You're the new profiler?" He asked.
Lorelai nodded. "Yes sir." She walked over to his desk and handed him her file.
Hotch opened the file and glanced at it. "Impressive Miss Davies."
Lorelai gave a small smile "Thank you."
He noted her birthday. She was so young. Could she handle this. It was after all more than just intelligence that was required for this job. "Well. Welcome." He said looking up at her. There was only one way to know for sure she could do this. And that was to give her a chance.
Lorelai let out a small breathe that she had been holding. This man was very intimidating that's for sure. She wasn't sure how he felt about her being here. But she could sense that he was questioning things. Probably because of just how young she looked but Lorelai didn't have much time to think about it.
Agent Hotchner got up from his chair and led her out to the squad room. "Agents Morgan, Prentiss & Dr Reid. This is the new agent. Lorelai Davies."
The three agents looked up at this new agent.
Morgan looked up at his superior agent with a look of questioning.
"She comes to us fresh out of the academy. She graduated university with a bachelors in phycology, sociology, and criminology six months ago. She should be an asset to the team."
Reid smiled at this young agent. "Welcome."
Prentiss smiled and went over and shook her hand before showing her to her desk. "This is yours. I can introduce you to the other two agents later." She could tell this young agent was green. But Emily was her at one point. The newest member to the team before her. No, she hadn't been nearly as young as her but obviously this young women had the credentials, and she obviously had the training at the academy, or she wouldn't be there the director had scouted her after all.
JJ came into the room. "New case." She told them all noticing the young woman.
The team all went to the conference room. Lorelai followed while being introduced to Agent Jareau. When they got to the room, she was introduced to the last member of the team Agent Rossi.
JJ started up talking about the case in Florida with a new serial killer having killed four people in three days. It was clear to the team that they needed to get there now hopefully before someone else was murdered.
Agent Hotchner told everyone to meet at the jet in one hour they needed to leave quickly. Lorelai had been warned that this is how this team worked so she had a to go back packed ready to go if this happened.
The team quickly all grabbed their bags and headed to the jet. On the plane Lorelai was informed that she would not be in the field on this case. She would be working at the police station with JJ and Reid. Lorelai was okay with that. She understood she would have to proof herself. Being new and being so young she had no doubt that there would be questions about her abilities so she would just have to prove herself.
The next three days were really long days. Longest days she had, had in a long time. She was used to long days when she was working on her university degrees and her working a part-time job and keeping up with her chores around the house which were a lot. But this was different. These were more than just physically long they were emotionally long too. She had to watch families be told their loved ones were never coming home. She didn't really understand that feeling. She of course was companionate and understood it must be hard. But for her there was no one really in her life that she would be so broken from losing. And no one who would care all that much if she were gone. But these families. They lost someone they loved very much. She wondered if it was even worth it to get that close to someone when people die in the end. Even if its not from murder everyone always dies in the end.
The case came to an end with them losing three more people before the were finally able to get their unsub. She admittedly was thrilled when they got the guy. Yes, because that was part of her job and because people like this man had no business being alive let alone out free roaming the world. But because she was exhausted. And she hadn't been in the field. She was starting to wonder if this job was for her after all. She wanted to make a difference, but could she handle this? Had the Academy trained her well enough to be able to handle what this job entailed.
When they were done in Florida they headed back to the jet. She was quiet on the way back to Virginia. Didn't say much. If she was asked a question, she answered it but otherwise she was deep in thought.
Agent Hotchner observed the new agent throughout the case. He had also asked the other agents on the team keep an eye on her too. She did very well with the profile and the motive and all the other things she was asked to do. The things she would have learned how to do in university, but he didn't have doubts she was capable of doing those things. He was wondering if she would be able to do the field work. She had done well in the academy but there was a difference between that and experiencing really working as a member of the BAU. She hadn't even attempted to get certified to carry a gun. Which no was not necessary in her role. He remembered back to when Reid was struggling to get re-certified and how hard that was for him how much he wanted to be able to carry a gun. Maybe Lorelai didn't want to carry a gun? Maybe she would never really be in field work. He also noticed how the case affected her mentally. She tried to hide it from the rest of the team, but he could see it. He also noticed how quiet she was on the way home on the plane. He figured she was decompressing maybe she would be okay.
He looked over at Dr Reid. He probably could understand her better than others on the team because he too was young joining the team and was more intellectual than physically strong in the beginning of his career. Spencer noticed his superior agent looking over at him. When Aaron had the younger man's attention, he nodded over to the new agent signalling for him to go talk to her. Spencer understood the assignment that was being asked of him. He went over to the younger agent. She was sitting on her own in the back of the plane. He sat with her. "How are you doing?" He asked her. Lorelai smiled at the Dr when he sat down. "I'm okay." She told him. Spencer nodded. "Cases. Like this. Can affect our mental health. And if your anything like most of the members of this team. You wont, want to talk about it. You might think it makes your weak or that it will make Hotch think you aren't capable of this job." Lorelai nodded listening to him realizing that maybe she hadn't been able to hide her emotions as well as she thought. She would have to work on that. She did not want them to think less of her. "But that is not the case. This team. We rely on each other. We need to know what's going on in each other's head. We need to know that we are all okay. But its okay to need time at the end of a case to decompress and come to terms with what we see. As long as when the next case comes along, we are mental able to continue. And if you need some help with that. Anyone on this team can help. You just need to talk to us. Okay?" He finished.
Lorelai took in everything Dr Reid had to say. She wasn't sure how soon she would be ready to talk about how this or any future cases impact her, but she did hear what he had to say. She nodded acknowledging that she understood what he was saying.
Aaron watched the conversation carefully. He couldn't hear what was being said but he could see reactions. He found it hard to believe she was eighteen. She looked no older than fifteen and, in some ways, she acted much older than eighteen. Clearly the girl had been through some very serious things in her few years of life. He tried to profile her in this past case and couldn't tell, much about her. She was clearly capable of hiding what she wanted to. He had reviewed her file but there wasn't much about her past. She had been in foster care since she was very young. Which yes would change her, but it was hard to tell how much or exactly how it was affected. It clearly hadn't impacted her intelligence as that was proven to be very high.
Shortly after, they landed back in Quantico. Hotch told the team to go home and get some sleep they would need to be at the office the next morning.
Lorelai was the last to get off the plane when they landed. She was met by Hotch who informed her she had done a good job on the case. Lorelai thanked him before heading out to her car and heading back home to take a bath and relax after the last few days.
