Lorelai turned over and hit the end button on her phones alarm. She stretched and laid on her back looking up at her ceiling. It had been a couple weeks since she started at the FBI. She was starting to get into a rhythm. They had worked a couple more cases since her first one and they had been hard but seemed to be easier than the first one. She had a few nightmares since than but otherwise she was doing good. She yawned stretching again before she got up and got ready for the day.

She went to her kitchen and started her coffee before going back to her room to get dressed. A lot of black pants were in her laundry. She still was trying to figure out her style at work and the black pants seemed to be what she stuck with. She pulled on a clean pair from her closet and added a red button up. To complete the look, she put her hair up into a bun and put on a pair of black shoes. She headed back to her kitchen grabbing her coffee in her to go cup, she grabbed her keys and headed out the door.

Hotch was already in his office. This new young agent was puzzling him. She was good at her job. She was proving it everyday. But there was something about her. Normally he could figure his agents out quickly, but she was eluding his profiling. He knew that must have meant she had learned from an early age how to keep her secrets he wondered what had made her feel the need to do that.

A few minutes later and knock came on his door and JJ came into his office. She informed him about the new case. Three young women had gone missing it was presumed they had been abducted and they all where from the same area and all had similar looks and personalities. Hotch called the team into the conference room to discuss before heading out to North Carolina for the case.

They headed out to the plane after the meeting. Hotch was ready to see how Lorelai could handle herself in the field and he was going to give her a chance to prove herself on this case. He let her know that on the plane.

Lorelai was a bit surprised. She didn't think that was going to happen for a while, but she was ready for it. She wanted to be able to do that. Obviously, she wasn't going to be in any shoot outs as she didn't have her permit yet, but she nodded when Hotch told her. "Okay." She said she was ready to do what was asked of her.

When they landed. Hotch told Agent Prentiss and Agent Davies that the three of them would be going to the crime scene together and he sent the others to talk to the families of the victims and the station to meet with the officer who called them out to help.

At the crime scene Lorelai listened to what the other agents had to say about what they think happened. She interjected when she had a thought about what she was seeing too. When they were done at the crime scene, they headed to the station to meet up with the rest of the team to build and discuss the profile of their unsub.

After a few days there they were at a standstill. Anyone who fit their profile had been cleared all having solid alibis. The local law enforcement was starting to doubt the BAU's abilities. She had a thought but wasn't sure it was right.

Hotch looked around at his team. They were clearly all tired. This case was alluding them all. He noticed Lorelai seemed to have something she wanted to say. He knew this young agent was still trying to prove herself and probably was nervous to say something that was going to hurt the case. Or maybe she was nervous to say something that she thought would be unhelpful. But maybe having a young mind with different points of view could help this case. "Agent Davies. Do you have anything to add?" Lorelai was surprised out of her thoughts. She was being put on the spot. The entire team was looking at her now expectantly.

"Um. I don't…" She started to say but she than saw the raises eyebrow from Hotch. "I was thinking maybe send someone undercover?" she said nervously. Hotch thought about it. "That could work. What exactly did you have in mind?" He asked her fishing for more information on her idea. Lorelai let out the breathe she was holding after what seemed like an eternity before Hotch agreed that it was an idea. He wanted more though. Lorelai figured she was in it now. She had nothing to lose. She detailed what she was thinking for an undercover mission. "We could send someone into the club where the women were last seen. To draw out the unsub by having the undercover agent portray the same personality?" She suggested.

"Did you have someone in mind to do this?" Hotch asked her.

Lorelai shook her head. "No. I didn't have anyone in mind." She admitted.

Hotch looked at the rest of the team before deciding. "I think it should be you Agent Davies."

Lorelai was again surprised. "What? No. I." She started to say.

"Your idea. Considering the victims are young women around your age. I think it what makes the most sense." Hotch said. "Unless of course you don't think you can do it." He said he knew that it was the best way but didn't want her to feel forced into it. A first undercover mission could be quite intense.

Lorelai again was put on the spot. She thought about it. She knew if she said no to this it could be a while before she got another chance. She took a breathe. "No. I-I can do it." She said. Hotch nodded.

"Good. Lets, get you ready." The team disbursed to start setting up the undercover mission.

JJ came over to her. "Don't worry. The whole team will have your back. You won't be out there alone." She assured the younger agent. "We all have our first undercover missions. Hotch would not let you do it if he were worried you couldn't do it." She added as she pulled her out of her seat and taking her to get ready. They made sure she was wired and that she was fitted with a bullet proof vest under a dress that would fit the look they were going for. She was and given instructions on what to do. She was reminded that the team wouldn't be far away, and she would be okay. They would be able to hear her the whole time.

An hour later she was dropped off at the all-ages club where the missing girls had last been seen at. She was dressed to the nines and hoping that it would draw their unsubs attention. She took a deep breathe before she went inside. Her ID was checked, and she was given a stamp signaling she was under twenty-one. She went over to the bar and order a dr. pepper and sat down at the bar looking around to see if anyone looked like they could fit the profile. Someone under the age of twenty-one well dressed. Looking kind of out of place. Her eyes scanned all the people. Most didn't fit the description. But one guy did. He was well dressed but, looked like his suit was two sizes to big for him. He didn't seem to be interacting with anyone just watching the women dance. He noticed her looking over at him and returned the look. She blushed and looked away. She was playing it off that she thought he was cute. It didn't take long for the guy to make his way over to her.

"I noticed you looking at me." He started talking to her. "I'm Mitchel." He told her.

Lorelai smiled a bit and bit her lip. "I uh. Well. I'm Kara" She was trying to play the shy standoffish girl that the team discovered the other girls had been during the investigation. She needed to give him a fake name in case he was following the case and saw or heard her name somewhere.

"There is no need to be shy." He told her. "I think your rather cute too." He told her gently running his hand along her arm.

She giggled really playing it up.

Meanwhile the rest of the team were in cars and vans nearby listening to this interaction between their newest agent and a young man who fit the description of their unsub. They were all surprised at the young agent's acting ability. Made a few of them wondering how much they really knew about her.

It didn't take Lorelai long to get the guy dancing with her. And getting him to invite her to another club near by. A private club apparently. This was her shot, so she agreed leaving the club with him and him 'convincing' her to go with him in his fancy sports car. Lorelai was slightly confused, this guy seemed to have money and he wasn't horrible looking. Why did he need to kidnap young women? He could probably have a slue of women interested in him even if it was just because of his money. She went with him, and he did in fact take her to another location. She really hoped the team was following as she couldn't make it obvious, she was looking for anyone behind them. The entered the building with Mitchel after he pressed some numbers into a keypad.

"So, uh. You work here or something?" She asked him.

"Nah." he told her. "My father owns it" he said as he closed the door behind them and locked it.

"Oh, um. Why are you locking the door?" She asked him.

"Just don't want anyone to come in that's not welcome. This is the back door. The front door has security to let people in we don't want them coming in the back door. But your special." He told her smiling charmingly.

"Oh. Okay." She told him with a small smile.

He led her up some stairs and into a back room. It was set up as an office. Out of a back corner came an older man. He looked like an older version of Mitchel. She guessed his father. "Uh h-hello." She said to him.

The older man smirked. "Good job son." He said as he pulled out a knife. "What's this one's name?" He asked his son as he smiled creepily at Lorelai.

Mitchel looked at her apologetically. "Kara."

The older man nodded. "I love her. She's so cute. She will fit perfectly."

Lorelai was starting to get nervous. "Um. Fit perfectly for what?"

"For our collection." The older man told her in a way that was implying she should know that.

"I don't think that's what I came here for…" Lorelai said. "But I uh. Can go." She said trying to get out of this. She officially no longer felt in control and was scared.

The older man grabbed her. "Nope. You're going no where." He pulled her close putting the knife against her neck. "Come on I can introduce you to the others I'm sure you will all get along great." He said as he led her into a room where the missing girls were all in cages. She noticed the empty cage.

Lorelai couldn't tell if the other girls were alive or not. None of them moved, flinched of many any noise when the door opened. "Um. Trust me I'm not the girl you want for whatever this is." She said.

The older man chuckled. "You shouldn't sell yourself short. Your perfect. You will complete the collection." He told her.

The other agents followed behind the car as it pulled away from the club and headed towards a new location. Things were going well until she was taken into a back entrance of a club at that point. They lost connection. Now they had this 18-year-old agent with a man who they suspected of abducting and killing women who fit Lorelai's current persona.

Hotch was worried. If they lost this agent when he could tell she was nervous about doing this, he would never forgive himself. The agents all ran to the door that they saw her go into and tried to get in, but nothing worked.

Mitchel came into the room. "Uh dad. There are federal agents trying to get into the building from the back door." He told him.

The older man looked confused than angry. "Did you get followed?!" He yelled at his son "You had one job!" He continued to lecture. Lorelai took the opportunity when he was distracted to pull her pocketknife out of her pocket and stabbed him in the side before breaking away from him. "He didn't get followed. I did." She said as she ran towards the door.

Mitchel grabbed her before she could get away. "No! You're not going anywhere! I will not be going down for this!" He said as he backed away from his father pulling her with him.

It was at that moment the team broke into the building and shooting his father when he pulled a gun out and aimed it at them. They than turned their attention to Mitchel who had Lorelai held against him with a knife to her neck they started screaming at him to drop the knife, but he wouldn't do it.

Lorelai was very nervous and overwhelmed and screamed for everyone to shut up before she realized what she had done the room went silent.

Lorelai realized she had to say something now and she started to talk. "Mitchel. I get it. Your father forced you to do something. I saw the look you gave me. You didn't want to do this. I get it. Parents I mean. The shitty ones anyways. I was put into foster care at the age of two. By parents who were addicted to drugs or alcohol or possibly both. I was put into a horrible foster home where I was abused daily. I aged out less than a year ago pregnant and severally underweight and malnourished and had doctors telling me that if I didn't terminate the pregnancy, I would likely not survive the pregnancy. The women who was supposed to take care of me would tell me daily I would never amount to anything, that I was stupid and useless. But I managed to get three bachelor's degrees, joined the academy six months ago and start working for the FBI just under three weeks ago and in my first undercover mission I clearly fucked something up because I have a guy who is no older than me who clearly doesn't want to do these things, holding me with a knife to my neck. I don't think you want to go to prison, and I obviously don't want to die after fighting for so many years just to survive. I will tell the people who need to know. I will tell them you were forced to do this. That you were kind and gentle with me. I have a feeling those girls in there if they aren't dead will be soon so it will help if you let me go and let my team get them the help they need. I promise I wont let you be held accountable for what you were forced to do." She kept going telling the entire room her whole life story in the process.

Mitchel heard everything she had to say and realized he had been tricked by an FBI agent. He knew he was out of luck, so he let her go kind of pushing her away from him before turning the knife on himself.

Lorelai looked at him after being pushed forward. "No! you don't want to do that. I was able to make something of myself even thought I dealt with a horrible parent. You can too. You don't need to end your life now. I can see you will do something wonderful. You just need help. I can get you that help please Mitchel. Drop the knife."

Mitchel didn't understand why but he believed her, but she was very convincing. He dropped the knife and at that point Lorelai was pulled away from there and Mitchel was arrested while the paramedics were called.

The next few hours were a blur. She was taken to the hospital where she was given a full physical and she was physically cleared with not more than a few scratches and being told she would likely be sore for a few days. She didn't hear much because she was not mentally okay after what just happened. She had to deal with things she had been trying to forget and it all came out in no more than five minutes. She didn't even realize what had really happened till she was back in the car with Hotch heading away from the hospital.

She remembered Hotch insisting she go to the hospital, and he went with her not giving her a choice. She wasn't even sure what happened with the other girls if they were okay. What had happened with Mitchel, she had made him a promise. She came out of it when they came to a stop. "Agent Hotchner…I"

Hotch held up a hand. "Not right now. We need to go in there and finish up this case." He told her. He wasn't angry by any means but there was too much to unpack, and they had a job to finish.

Lorelai nodded and took a deep breathe before getting out of the car. She needed to put a face on. A face that she was okay. "Are the girls, okay?" She asked as they headed in.

"They will be. They were all alive but hurting. Doctors say they will be fine with some time and treatment."

Lorelai nodded she was relieved.

"And Mitchel will be likely be put in a mental institution for a few years at least. His father will be put in prison. He did survive the bullet wound and the impressive stab to his side." He added.

"I see." Lorelai said as they went into the police station. Where it was a lot of commotion with people celebrating the girls being saved. The police officers congratulated her as she walked by. Clearly her team hadn't told them anything about what went down outside of her contributing to the good ending.

Went she got to the backroom where her team was working, they all looked up at her expecting her to say something. But she didn't know what to say.

Hotch cleared his throat, and everyone went back to work. She sat down and was handed a document by Hotch. "Need your statement about what happened tonight. Especially between when you got into the building and when we got in. The building was set with devices to block out the connection, we don't know what happened between those moments." He told her.

Lorelai nodded. It was the first she was realizing she was completely on her own for a considerable amount of time. She wrote her statement not looking up but occasionally feeling like someone was watching her. She didn't look up she was afraid if she looked at one of her teammates she would break down. She might have been physically okay but mentally she was certainly not.
