Lorelai was annoyed. She had just left her therapy session with the FBI therapist, and she thought it had gone fine. She had talked about the case and how it affected it her but not much else and the therapist told her she thought it would be best if they continued therapy for at least a couple more sessions. She didn't want to do that. She didn't know this women and she didn't trust that she wouldn't tell the FBI everything she disclosed. She worked for the FBI after all.

She went over to her desk opened the top drawer and put her wallet in the drawer and closed the drawer harder than necessary.

Reid looked up when he felt the room get tense. He saw Lorelai and could tell even before she slammed the desk drawer that something was wrong. He got up and went over to her.

"You want to come get coffee with me?" He asked her.

Lorelai sighed but nodded. "Sure." She went with him.

After they had gotten into the elevator Reid looked over at her. "What's wrong?" He asked her.

Lorelai shook her head. "Stupid therapist."

Reid tilted his head. "Oh?"

"She. She seems to think that she can force me to continue therapy. Well. She's wrong." She finished.

Reid made a bit of a face and forced himself not to smile. Lorelai was very stubborn. "Well. She herself might not be able to force you on her own. But…"

"But. What?" Lorelai asked with a bit of an attitude.

"Okay. Don't shoot the messenger. But she will go to the director or Hotch." He told her calmly.

"Okay but they can't make me either." She said feeling very sure of herself.

Reid let out a huffed laugh. "Do you really believe that?" He asked this young agent. "Do you actually believe that the Director of the FBI, and Agent Hotchner can't make you go to FBI ordered therapy?"

Lorelai sighed as the elevator door opened. She left the elevator and went towards the coffee shop on the first floor of the building.

Reid followed closely behind. "Lorelai, wait."

Lorelai stopped and looked over at him.

"I am just trying to help." He let out a heavy breathe. "Hotch is a big believer in therapy. If he finds this out, he will make you go. He will put you on suspension unless you continue as long as the therapist thinks you need it. And he will be annoyed. You haven't been here long but pissed of Hotch. You've seen it with suspects but trust me it feel different when that anger is directed at you." He told her.

Lorelai bit the inside of her lip. She didn't doubt what he was saying. She just wondered if she could talk her way out of it.

"It's okay to need help." He told her. "It's okay." He repeated.

Lorelai rubbed at her temples. She was getting a headache. "I don't need FBI ordered therapy." She said

Reid led her over to a bench to sit. "Don't need FBI ordered therapy. What kind of therapy do you want?" He asked her slightly confused by the syntax of that statement. He pointed to the bench telling her to sit.

Lorelai sat and put her head in her hands. "I already go to therapy. I have been since getting to the area." She admitted.

Reid nodded as he sat next to her. "Why didn't you tell Hotch that? He wouldn't have made you go to another therapist. Look Hotch would have accepted that you have someone you trust. Someone whom you can talk to about not just your past but what you have been though and will continue to go though while working cases. Hotch is an understanding person." He told her. "As long as you are honest. He doesn't like dishonesty." He added.

Lorelai ran her hand through her hair. Taking a breathe. "How do I fix it?" She asked the Dr.

"Well. How did you react with the therapist when she told you that you need more time with her?" He asked her.

Lorelai looked down at her hands. "Not well." She admitted,

Reid nodded. "Get to Hotch before she does. Be honest with him. Tell him the whole truth." Accept the lecture you will no doubt get. Be ready to do what he tells you to do." He told her. "Most likely he will get you to apologize to the therapist." He finished.

Lorelai nodded. "And if she has already gotten to him?"

"Tell him you will apologize before he tells you too. The rest the same be honest and accept the consequence." He told her. "I suggest you go now. I will get you your coffee." He told her getting up from the bench.

Lorelai got up. "Thanks." She said before she rushed back up to Hotch's office. She noticed his door closed and knocked softly.

Hotch was in his office when he heard a knock on the door. He called out for whomever it was to open. In walked the FBI therapist and after a discussion with her he was unimpressed with the behaviour of his newest agent. As the conversation was coming to an end, he heard another knock. He called out for the person to enter. He had a feeling he knew who it was. That knock was rather distinctive.

Lorelai walked in and saw the therapist. Her heart sank. This was not good. She felt Agent Hotchner's eyes borring into her even if she hadn't looked at him yet. She remembers what Reid had told her. "Oh, I'm glad you're here Dr. I was going to come to you after talking to Agent Hotchner. I apologize for the way I reacted. I realize you were trying to help, and I shouldn't have been so rude." She said looking at the Dr. She was honestly sorry she reacted the way she did.

The Dr nodded. "Glad to hear it. I will be seeing you soon than?"

Lorelai took a breathe before continuing. "The truth is I have been seeing an outside therapist for several months. Since I moved to the area. Its nothing against you I just don't think its beneficial or needed to start seeing a second one." She told her.

The therapist nodded. "I agree actually. Had I known…"

Lorelai nodded. "I didn't tell anyone. That's on me." She told her.

The Dr nodded again. "I understand. Well, I think I can leave you and Agent Hotchner to talk now. I hope the therapist you are seeing can help. If it comes time where she can't, and you would like you can come talk to me." She told the young Agent before saying goodbye to Hotch and leaving the room closing the door behind her.

Lorelai hadn't looked Hotch in the eyes since coming into the room. But she knew she couldn't avoid it forever. She looked over at him and she was met with a disapproving look.

"When I told you that I don't like being lied to?" he asked

Lorelai bit her lip. "Well. I didn't really see it as lying."

"Oh? And what did you see it as than Agent Davies?" He asked getting more annoyed.

Lorelai looked away from him. "Sir. I just. I was. I didn't…"

Hotch looked up at her waiting. "Sit down." He ordered as she started to ramble without any true explanation.

Lorelai did as she was told. "I didn't think of it as lying. I thought of it as keeping my personal life private. I am sorry. I didn't mean to lie." She told. "I have already reveled so much of my personal stuff. I just wanted…"

"To keep something private?" Agent Hotch asked finishing her statement for her.

Lorelai nodded. "Yes Sir."

Hotch nodded. "I can understand that you want to keep things private. But somethings need to be told. I needed to know that you were in therapy already. Not because I want to invade your private life but because it was important to the situation." He told her.

Lorelai nodded. "Yes Sir. I understand. I was also kind of… embarrassed." She told him. "I should be stronger than that. I'm an FBI agent…"

Hotch shook his head. "No. That's not true. Look I don't know all the details and I don't need to unless you want to share. But I know in the eighteen years of your life you have been though more than most adults. You are more than an FBI agent. You are a person too."

Lorelai nodded a bit.

Hotch thought for a minute. "Lorelai. Look at me."

Lorelai took a breathe and did what she as told.

"You have been here for about a month. In that time, I will admit I have been trying to profile you. Not on purpose but more as its second nature for me and most of the members of this team. You aren't easy to profile. Even the people at the academy left notes in your file that you are not easy to get to know. But what I have been able to figure out is. You are smart, kind, strong willed, determined, stubborn, hard-headed, and infuriating sometimes." He told her.

Lorelai smiled a bit at the profiler's description of her.

"And also, very guarded." Hotch finished his observations of her.

Lorelai looked away again for a moment before looking back up at him.

"Most of those traits are good. They will help you. Even the stubborn hard-headed, and infuriating can at time be beneficial. But guarded can cause issues with those who care about you. This team isn't necessarily like any other team. We are more than a team. We are a family. We will go to the mat for each other. We will do everything in our power to protect each other. And I'm not saying you need to tell us everything. That wouldn't be fair. However, we need to know if something will affect this job. And I need to know things like you're in therapy if it comes up like it should have when I told you that you needed to talk to the FBI therapist."

Lorelai listened but didn't say anything.

Hotch looked at her. "If I didn't think you were a good fit or that you didn't have what it takes you wouldn't be here. You are here. We will fight for you. You are now a part of this team. Part of this family. There is no judgements here. No holding your past against you. No holding your mistakes against you. Consequences yes. But no one on this team will judge you. They will defend you to the end." He continued. "And I have seen you do small things that shows me you would do the same."

Lorelai interrupted. "Its my job to protect my team."

"Let me finish." Hotch told her firmly. "Yes. Its part of our jobs to protect each other. But do you know that no one wanted to have to tell the Director what went down in that room when you were undercover. There was no connection to the outside world. The connection was interrupted by the device. We didn't have to tell the director anything and we didn't tell him everything. None of the reports give specifics. I told the director that things were revealed but not details. Director told me to handle things how I saw best. I decided therapy would help. Being unaware that you were already in therapy meaning that maybe you needed something else. This family can not help if you don't ask for it and don't tell us what you need or don't let us in to help you."

Lorelai was surprised. She though the Director knew everything. Had they really kept the details out. They did that for her. The protected her. "I didn't realize." She said softly looking back down at her hands.

"I figured you didn't. I know you would do the same. But I need to know. Do you want to? Is this what you expected. You've seen a lot in the last month. Can you handle it, and do you want to be part of this family? The good and the bad." He asked her.

Lorelai was surprised by the question. She had never been asked what she wanted. "Yes." She said definitively.

Hotch nodded. "Good. You will see just how much this is like a family if you ever lie to me or keep something significant from me again. Clear?" He asked her.

She nodded "Yes Sir. What do you mean by that though?"

Hotch smiled a bit. "Why don't you ask Reid? I know he talked to you and told you how to get yourself out of trouble."

Lorelai's jaw dropped before she let out a nervous chuckle.

Hotch nodded. "Get back to work." He told her before he started typing things into his computer.

Lorelai got up and left quickly. How? She wondered. How did he know? Had Reid told him? When could he have done that?

She went to her desk where a cup a coffee sat. She took a sip and looked over at Reid. "Thanks." She said. "Did you tell Hotch that you talked to me?" She asked him.

Reid nodded and than shook his head. "But he probably saw us leave together and put two and two together."

Lorelai nodded. "Oh. He told me to ask you something. About what he meant when he said if I weren't honest with him again, I would find out how much this team was more like a family." She told him.

Reid nodded. "Oh. Well, we can talk about that later." The rest of the team were looking at each other with a knowing look on their faces. Lorelai wondered what the heck she had agreed to and if she was going to regret it but for now, she got back to work.
