Lorelai was nervous. She had never been on a real date. She had hung out with a guy before obviously since she had been pregnant but never on a 'date.' She had tried on outfit after outfit. Till she settled on a fleece skirt and a long-sleeved blouse. She added a fake fur coat and a pair of knee-high boots before heading out to her living room and grabbing her purse. That's when there a knock on her door. She took a breath before opening it.

Reid was wearing a nice pair of slacks and a wool sweater. He had a bouquet of flowers. "They didn't have sunflowers." He told her handing them to her.

Lorelai's heart swooned and she smiled. "No. They wouldn't. They are summer flowers. But these are beautiful." She said taking them and heading back inside. "Come in while I put them in water." She said.

Reid stepped in as she walked to her kitchen and put the flowers in a vase with water and setting them on her small kitchen table. She smiled and walked back over to the door and the two left for their date after she locked up.

They headed to a local café that neither of them had been to before. Lorelai got a table while Spencer got them their coffees. He came and joined her at the table setting the two cup down before sitting down.

Reid looked at Lorelai. "Have you try a lot of coffee shops since being here?" He asked. "In this area I mean."

Lorelai shook her head "I get my coffee usually from the same place I'm always working or at home and at home I make my own." She told him. "What about you try a lot of places?" She asked.

He shook her head. "No not really. I am in the same boat as you. Don't get much time outside of work." He said.

They both sipped their coffees and chatted getting to know more about each other outside of work. About hobbies and interests and even found they had some things in common outside of their work.

Eventually Lorelai looked at her phone and saw they had been there for four hours. "Wow" she said. "I guess the saying it true. Time flies when you're having fun."

Reid looked at the time as well. "Yes, it does." He said smiling at her. "I suppose we should give up our table for others." He said looking around at how busy it had gotten.

He drove her back home and walked her to her doorstep like a gentleman. Lorelai unlocked her door. "Thank you for a fun afternoon." She told him. "We will have to hang out again." She said.

"Second date?" He asked.

Lorelai smiled and nodded "I would love to."

Reid smiled. "I will see you at work on Monday." He said before kissing her cheek and heading out.

Lorelai closed her door behind and leaned against it with a sigh. She didn't have anything to compare it to, but she truly believed that was a good date.
