Lorelai & Hotch were waiting outside the director's office. It was the day after she had moved in with Hotch. The director wanted to talk to them both to discuss changes to her employment. She was trying to accept all the changes but everyday it was another thing that was changing.

The director called them both in and they all sat at a conference table in his office. The director looked at them both. "Things have come up and we need to figure out how this is going to work."

Lorelai nodded. "I understand that." She said calmly

"I think we just need to figure out what is best in this situation." Hotch said

The director nodded. "You are obviously a good agent, and your age doesn't change that. But it does change what would be right on the legal side of things. For example, I found out that you have booked an appointment for gun certification before you found out the truth and unfortunately that is not going to be happening. Can not have a sixteen-year-old agent with a gun." He told her

Hotch raised an eyebrow "I didn't know about that."

Lorelai nodded "I was going to tell the team after I had gotten it. But I can understand not being able to do that now." She said

Hotch was impressed at how well she was taking this.

"Now. I'm not going to tell you that you cant be an Agent anymore." The director continued

Lorelai nodded "Thank You. I feel like there is a but coming."

"However." He said

"That's the same as a but." Lorelai cut him off but quickly shut up when Hotch cleared his throat

"Field work is the thing I am concerned about. I know your capable you have proven that." The director continued. "I'm just finding it hard to think it's a good idea to have a sixteen-year-old in the field. No matter how good you are at it."

Lorelai nodded, "I can understand that. But it feels like I am being punished for something that I have no control over. Something I was lied to about for my whole life."

"We know this isn't your fault, and yes it seems unfair because it is. I'm not going to sit here and pretend that this situation is normal or fair to you because its not. I am sorry but like you I have no control over what has happened. I just have to deal with the situation as it is." The director continued

Lorelai sighed and nodded. "I get that. I know what you have to do. So just get it over with." She said with as much maturity as she could muster at the moment.

"Your work outside of the field nothing will change. You are not permitted in the field for the time being. I cant allow that." He finished

Lorelai nodded. She was upset but she knew freaking out was not going to be taken well and she didn't feel like dealing with a pissed of Hotch and didn't know how the director would take it, but she didn't want to find out. "Yes Sir." She said.

Director nodded. "If I find a way to make it work in the future, I will let you know." He offered

Hotch's phone went off with a text. He looked at it quickly. "Sorry sir but we should get going, Agent Jareau has a case for us."

The director nodded and said they could go. Lorelai and Hotch left the directors office and headed down to the conference room to meet the team and see what this case was about.

The case was taking them to California. She was ready to get back to some sort of normal and even though things were going to be different at least she could keep doing something in her role as an FBI agent.
