That week Hotch did contact his lawyer and brought him the adoption paperwork. His lawyer said he would make sure it was handled as quickly as possible. His lawyer couldn't see why the judge would object to it so he didn't think it would take long.

Hotch also got Rachel started at her new school. It was private therapeutic day school. He had done his research and he thought given everything she had been through it made the most sense. It was also a place Rachel's therapist thought was a good option. He dropped her off at school making sure she was okay before he headed to work.

Lorelai went to her therapist that morning and than went to work as well.

They did have a case that day, but it was a local police station that called them in to help so they didn't have far to go. They headed to the station. It was about two missing children. They had heard about the two cases already, but the news hadn't said the cases were connected. The police had kept that quiet for the sake of not scaring the public unnecessarily.

They all went to the station and got to work. When it came to children it hit all of the team differently. They knew children were among the most vulnerable and couldn't defend themselves. It was up to the team to find them and bring them home.

Hotch sent Prentiss & Morgan to talk to one of the families. And sent Agent's Davies and Rossi to talk to the other family. He knew how much she wanted field work and he had even spoken to the director, and they agreed she could talk to victims and families from this point on. Lorelai was surprised but didn't dare comment on it and risk not being able to go. Hotch, Reid and JJ all went to the station to start work on finding out the profile of their unsub.

Lorelai could feel like the father of the first victim was not giving them the full story. "Mr. Gibson. Are you sure there isn't anything you can think of?" She asked

He shook his head. "I don't know anything more than I have told you. I would not keep information that might help find my son." He told the agent

Rossi could see the same thing as Agent Davies, but he also knew that pushing might lead to the family closing ranks and not talking to them anymore.

Mrs. Gibson was very upset. "Why don't you stop wasting your time talking to us and find our son. And the other families missing child as well!" She said sobbing

Lorelai looked right at her. "I promise everything is being done to find Timothy. And the other child. We just have to make sure that we know everything that might help us find out how your child and the other child are connected. And since the usual connections. Schools, sports, after school classes aren't the same. And they are different ages, genders, and all around are completely different children from different areas of the state. it means that something else must be connected. And the best way to figure that out it to talk to both families and see if there is something else." She told her sympathetically

Agent Rossi nodded. "And you two don't seem to know the other child's mother. You don't work in the same industries. Have never visited the same locations it means its something deeper." He said

"Maybe they aren't connect than?" Said Mrs. Gibson.

Agent Rossi shook his head. "No. It's been proven the same DNA was found at both crime scenes. They are connected." He saw the father seeming more and more annoyed. "Do you think I can see Timothy's room. Maybe there is something in there that can help." He asked hoping to get the father and mother apart. Mrs. Gibson said she would take him leaving Lorelai and Mr. Gibson alone.

Lorelai looked at him. He looked at her. "I'm assuming the DNA is not in the system." He said

Lorelai nodded. "Its not no. Never been connected to any other crimes either. This is likely this persons first crimes are kidnapping Timothy and this other child." She said. "Usually, cases like this. It means its someone who knows both families, but your lives never seem to connect. Different friend circles. You are very wealthy the other mother is a single mother who cant get by without assistance." She told him

Mr. Gibson looked towards the bedroom.

"Mr. Gibson. If you know something. You don't want your wife to know. Now would be the time to tell me." She said. "I promise unless absolutely necessary it wont be reveled to her. Were not here to ruin your life were here to save two innocent children." She said quietly to ensure it wasn't overheard.

Mr. Gibson looked back towards the room again. "Fine. Yes. I know the mother. I mean I use to. I had an affair with her years ago. I didn't know she had a child. Based on her age its possible I am the biological father." He said quickly. "But I don't really know her. She was a stripper at a club I use to go to." He finished.

Lorelai nodded. "So, this possibly has more to do with you. Have you had an issues with anyone lately? An employee? A friend? Anyone who might have the means to do something like this?"

Mr. Gibson nodded. "I own a company. You don't make money without pissing people off. But nothing recent." He said

"Well, we will need a list. Maybe someone who knows you and her had been involved. Someone who use to go to the club with you." She added quickly before Rossi and Mrs. Gibson came back.

Rossi looked at Lorelai wondering if she got what they both knew he was hiding. Lorelai stood up. "Thank you both. We will do everything to bring your son home safe." She said.

The two agents left the house and went to the car. "Okay. What did he tell you?" Asked Agent Rossi when they got in the car. "He had an affair with the girls mother years ago. Its possible both kids are his." Lorelai told him.

Rossi looked at Lorelai. "You are good Agent Davies."

Lorelai smiled a bit "Thanks. It makes me sick. How can a man with a loving wife and a kid have an affair. And chances are he really pisses someone off. Someone who knows about his affair."

"Its not our jobs to judge Agent Davies." Rossi told her

"I know but can you honestly say you don't feel like same way?" She asked

"My opinion on his choices will not bring those children home safe." He told her. "Lets not worry about that and just find who he pissed off enough to want to harm these children."

Lorelai nodded. "Got it. Dropping it. I have him making a list of people he has pissed off in the last year." She said.

Rossi nodded. "Good." They drove back to the station before informing the others what they found out.

Morgan shook his head. "Maybe you should go talk to the girls mother. Since she didn't tell us anything."

"Maybe she doesn't remember." Lorelai said under her breathe

All eyes landed on her making her realize she wasn't as quiet as she thought.

"Are you really making that comment about another women?" JJ asked her

Lorelai sighed. "I'm sorry. But why the hell if she knew why would she not tell us? Why did it take him so long for him to tell us? These are their children!" She said angrily

"Enough Agent Davies!" Hotch said.

Lorelai shut up and went back to reviewing the profile the other agents had figured out.

The team confirmed the profile with the new information and than Reid and JJ told the police the profile of who to look for.

Everyone dispersed to continue investigating. Lorelai was grabbed by the elbow by Agent Rossi who led her to the conference room that had been set up for them. "I told you to drop it and you continued?" He said once they were in there. Hotch and JJ were the only other ones in there and JJ found an excuse to leave. Hotch looked at them both. "You told her to drop it?" Hotch asked

"Yes. In the car on the way back. She told me what Mr. Gibson had told her and she was giving her very personal opinion on his choices. I told her its not in our job to judge and giving our opinions on it, wouldn't help our case and told her to drop it." Agent Rossi told Hotch

Hotch looked at her. "And you continued here?" He asked.

Lorelai sighed. "I'm sorry. I'll keep my opinions to myself." She said

"You better." Hotch warned her. Rossi nodded in agreement.

This was hard for Lorelai. These two missing children. Had parents. Who were supposed to love them. But neither of them gave up the information until pushed. And the girl's mother didn't at all. Or she really didn't remember. She wasn't judging her she was just wondering.

"I was just thinking. Not from a place of judging. But what if Miss Spencer. Honestly doesn't know who the father was. What if she had been sexually active with more than one person and one of the other people who thought he was the only one found out that this child wasn't actually his?" She suggested

Hotch nodded. "You and Prentiss can go talk to her. Respectfully." He added.

Lorelai nodded and she and Prentiss who had just come into the room went to talk to the missing girl's mother.

Lorelai looked at Miss Spencer. "Do you know Mr. Gibson?" She asked her

The mother shook her head.

"Who is Sarah's father?" She asked her. "Could he be involved?"

Miss Spencer shook her head. "He is deceased." She said

Prentiss saw Lorelai getting a little annoyed and took over. "Miss Spencer. It will make it far easier for us to find Sarah and the other child involved if you are completely honest. We are not here to judge. Just to bring these two innocent children home." She said gently

Miss Spencer looked between the two agents. "What do you think I am hiding?"

Lorelai took a breathe. "Mr. Gibson seems to remember you. From a club you use to work at?" She said

Miss Spencer looked confused.

"Again, no judgement but is it possible that her father is someone who you met at that club?" Prentiss asked.

Miss Spencer put her head in her hands. "Yes. But I don't know who. Look. I made some bad choices when I was younger. My daughter is the only good thing to come of it. I don't remember him. No. But I don't remember a lot." She admitted.

Lorelai bit the inside of her cheek to keep from saying something she would regret.

Prentiss got all the information that she could give them. Lorelai said nothing because she knew that if she opened her mouth, it would come out rather judgmentally.

Prentiss noticed and got the younger agent out of there as quickly as she could. On the car ride home Prentiss started talking to her. "Did you read the file on Miss Spencer?" Prentiss asked Lorelai

Lorelai shook her head.

Prentiss nodded. "She was abused by her step-father from the age of four till he was murdered in front of her when she was seventeen by her boyfriend who than abused her for two years before she ran away and had to get the only job she could as a stripper at a club to support herself and eventually her daughter. But she worked hard and now she is a successful nurse." She told her. "Now I want you to imagine when you aged out when you thought you were eighteen. If you weren't as smart as you are. If you didn't have the degrees and the director hadn't pulled you into the FBI. What would you have done? To survive?"

Lorelai realized she had been to judgey on this mother. "I didn't know…"

Prentiss nodded. "I figured. But you never know what someone is going through. We should never judge. Just like no one judges you." She pointed out

Lorelai looked out the window. She knew Emily was right. "Okay. Fine in her situation I realized I was to judgemental. But Mr. Gibson. Married to a devoted wife. With a son. A successful career. Beautiful home. And he has an affair with a women he met at a strip club? Who by the sounds of it wasn't sober so he basically probably raped her." She said

Prentiss shook her head. "We don't know. We don't judge Lorelai. Even if he is the worst human on this planet. Our job is to bring home these two innocent children. Not judge choices good or bad that were made by their parents." She told her

"I know its not helpful, but it doesn't change how I feel." Lorelai said

"Think whatever you want. But don't let it change how you speak to them. Unless he is directly responsible for his child/children being taken than he is a victim in this situation too." Prentis told her

Lorelai nodded. "Your right… Did I come off as rude?" She asked. "To Miss Spencer I mean."

Emily looked at her for a second. "When you were talking to her no. But she could sense your judgement when you were saying nothing."

Lorelai made a face and sighed. "Are you going to tell Hotch?" She asked

Emily thought for a moment. "No."

Lorelai let out a breathe of relief.

"But. If it happens again. I will." She said

Lorelai nodded. "Fair enough."

"I know this case probably effects you more because children being in danger knowing your past. You will need to learn to use your past to help not hurt your abilities. You are a very good agent." She told her. "Use your past to help that."

Lorelai nodded. "I'll try."

They pulled up to the station and went inside. They told the other agents what they found out. Slowly the case continued till they found out Miss Spencer's old highschool boyfriend had lied about his alibi and how he had been stocking her since she ran just waiting till he could find a way to get back at her and back at the man who he felt took her from him. That man being Mr. Gibson.

Hotch and the rest of the team minus Lorelai went to find him. Lorelai was in constant communication over two-way radios giving them any information she could to help them. Garcia was also on the line from the FBI building giving them GPS information on their suspect and the children's possible locations. They went into a building and a lot of gun fire started. Than silence came. Complete silence which seemed to go on forever.

Hotch spoke after the few seconds "We got the children they are both safe. Our kidnapper is deceased. The team is all okay" He said Lorelai let out the breath she had been holding.

It was about an hour later Lorelai was meeting the team at the hospital talking to the two children and their parents. Lorelai noticed Mr. Gibson kept making excuses to leave his sons room to go to his possible daughter's room. She wanted to say something but the look from Prentiss told her to leave it alone. She just spoke to the little girl about what she went through and get the information she needed to help close the case.

A few hours later they were back at the police station to finish up what they needed to before heading home with the case being finished. They were lucky. Once they were involved the case it took them less than twenty-four hours to find the children.

When it had been time for Rachel to be picked up during the case. Aaron had left for an hour and brought her home where he had arranged for someone to stay with her. He knew she would be okay by herself for a couple hours, but he wasn't comfortable with her being left alone over night.

Aaron and Lorelai arrived home at around 4am the next day. Lorelai went to shower and Hotch went to check on Rachel before letting the sitter go home.

They both went to bed. Hotch woke up just three hours later to get Rachel to school. Lorelai woke up to Rachel's alarm as well but went back to sleep.

Rachel got up and got ready for school and went with Aaron when he was ready to take her.

Lorelai woke up a few hours later and got ready for her therapy appointment and coming back home after when she got a text from Hotch telling her there was no new cases and he was on his way home as well.
