Booth talked to Sweets about Brennan's behavior. Sweets walked slowly to Brennan's office door. He stood to observe her. As if she felt his eyes on her, she looked up.

"Why are you spying on me?"

Sweets walked inside the office. "No, Dr. Brennan. I was just waiting so I wouldn't startle you."

Brennan sighed. "Did Booth tell you to check on me?"

He looked like a deer in headlights. "Would it bother you if he did?"

"Of course! I can take care of myself! Does anybody know me at all?"

"You're a very private person. And we respect that. I think we know as much as you'll allow." Brennan just stared at him. "It has been mentioned to me that you seem distressed about this case. I would like to help."

Brennan showed him the file picture of Lauren Eames.

"Is that the victim?"

"What do you see?"

Sweets shook his head looking at the picture. "What do you want me to see?"

"It's me."

"Okay…I see." He stepped back.

"Do you really see it?" Her eyes lit up.

"Dr. Brennan, you're over-identifying with the victim." She looked down at her lap. "You two have many things in common. That's why you can't help but draw parallels to your own life."

Brennan fingered some papers on her desk.

"The victim was afraid of a man named Dworsky. Will you tell him that?"

Sweets stared at her for a few seconds. Wondering if she heard what he just said. "Yeah, I'll tell him."

Brennan didn't go home that night. She stayed at the lab, going over all the evidence and listening to the recorded files of Lauren Eames.
