Authors Note: This chapter jumps over about six months, after Haley is murdered and Hotch isn't back at work yet.

Lorelai paced the office of the current team lead Agent Morgan. The most recent case went very wrong. Seventeen teens ended up murdered and Lorelai took it into her own hands to help save the rest of the girls when the rest of the team couldn't get to them fast enough for her liking. She had ended up getting hit in the head and knocked unconscious in the process. Thankfully she wasn't overly injured and only had a small concussion. And also, thankfully the team was able to save the rest of the girls.

It all started about a week ago…

The team had been called into help locally when several girls who had Lorelai's alias card on them had been found murdered and they had been linked to missing persons cases all over the country.

The team had discussed the current finding. Morgan sent JJ, Rossi & Agent Davies to meet with the police chief and talk to the victim's families when they got into the station and the rest of the team headed to the location that the bodies had been found. Lorelai wasn't to happy about it as she wanted to go to the body dump, but Morgan was very clear. He knew she was still heavily affected by Haley's murder and not up to her normal abilities. He didn't tell her that, but he made it clear she was going to be at the police station for the time being.

At the body dump the rest of the team worked together to try and come up with a profile of their unsub. Or unsubs in this case. There was no way one person had done all this.

"These bodies. They weren't placed with care. They were just tossed. Whomever brought them here. They didn't have a connection with them." Emily said.

"They clearly didn't care. They are just thrown like garbage." Reid added.

"And the way they were murdered. Bled out from wounds to the stomach, legs and vaginal area." Morgan added.

"They were murdered by pure evil." Emily said

"Anyone who does this. To a child. Is pure evil." Morgan added

They all agreed.

Meanwhile at the station. They had met with the chief and started building a profile from the information they have while waiting for the victim's families to come in.

The next few days were spent creating and sharing their profile and talking to the victim's families. The team and the police also went out and investigated when tips came in. Except Lorelai. She was pissed. She knew that technically she wasn't eighteen yet but in less than six months she would be she didn't understand why she was being kept from doing anything outside of the police station.

She was answering the tip line phone while the rest of the team was following some leads when she answered the phone to a whispering voice telling her that she was one of the people being trafficked and where the girls were being kept before the line went dead.

She wrote down the location and called Morgan and told him where she was told they were.

"Okay. We will head there but likely will take us over thirty minutes." He told her.

She took a breathe. "Should a team of the police from here go. We are much closer." She pointed out

Morgan agreed but made sure she knew that she was not permitted to go with.

"Morgan. Come on. I can help." She said

"I know. But its not safe. This isn't my rule. That's the directors. Once it is cleared maybe. We will talk than." He told her.

Lorelai hung up and told the police chief who put together a team to head out. Lorelai also told the chief she was cleared to go with the team. They all went to the location they were told. While they were driving, she got a call from Morgan. She knew she was busted so she just ignored the call. She figured she was already in trouble, and it wasn't going to stop her from doing what she planned to so she it wouldn't do her any good to answer.

When they got there she did stay in the vehicle till the place was cleared while she was waiting she read a text she had received from Morgan.

'Agent Davies. You DO NOT go into that building. You WAIT till we get there.'

Lorelai took a breathe before sending a text back. 'I am sorry. I will not let you bench me. I will wait till it is cleared. After that I will go in.' she said

A few minutes later she was told over walkie talkie that it was cleared. She went in and started to look around. She didn't see anyone, but she followed the voices of the police, and she went towards it. Before she got there she was hit in the head and knocked out.

When the team got to the warehouse Morgan was pissed. The team went in and found Lorelai knocked out. Morgan bend down and checked her pulse and was relived that he found a strong one. He told Prentiss and Reid to get her out of there.

The rest of them followed the voices and found the police and the victims but there were no suspects.

"Where are the unsubs?" Morgan asked

The police shook their heads. "There was no one else here."

"Really? Than how did my agent end up knocked out just outside the room?" Morgan asked

The police were surprised. "We cleared the entire building before telling her to come in."

"Obviously not." Rossi pointed out as they all helped the girls that were there out of the building into waiting ambulances that had been called.

Reid was getting into an ambulance to head to the hospital with Lorelai. He would also be there to help give updates of the girls as they were checked out.

Morgan also sent JJ & Prentiss with a couple of the girls. Rossi and Morgan stayed at the scene with the police to start working on trying to figure out where their unsubs might have ended up.

Rossi looked at Morgan. "Should you be calling Hotch?" He asked

Morgan looked at him. "Yes. I want to call Hotch and tell him that his daughter almost died. Not a month has past since Haley died. Would you want to make that call?"

"No. But I'm not the team lead." Rossi pointed out.

"I know. I'm hating this role right now." He told the older man.

"Well. You can wait. And risk him finding out from a nurse at the hospital." Rossi said

Morgan shook his head. "She would never have ignored it if it came from him."

"That's not necessarily true. She has ignored his direct orders." Rossi told him

"Not like this." He told him

"Maybe not. But I doubt she will again." Rossi told the younger man

"Oh. She wont. I will make sure of it." Morgan told him

Rossi nodded.

Morgan pulled out his phone and called Hotch. After he got off the phone he went and joined Rossi who had already gone back inside.

When Hotch got the call he called Jessica to come stay with Jack. Rachel was with her friends, and he didn't want her to be worried she already was struggling with grief and didn't want to add to that. As soon as Jessica arrived he headed to the hospital.

At the hospital Lorelai kept trying to get up saying she was fine and could leave. She was arguing with the nurses when Reid came back in after going and talking to Emily.

"Lorelai. Get in that bed do not move and stop arguing with the nurses." Reid told her firmly.

Lorelai was surprised. She had never seen him like that. With anyone. She got back into the hospital bed and shut up. The nurse put the IV back in her arm before she left leaving Spencer and Lorelai alone. Spencer crossed his arms at her.

Lorelai sighed. "You're mad at me?"

"Clearly." he said. "Argue with the nurses or the doctors again and I will be informing Morgan and trust me you do not want him more angry with you." He told her.

Lorelai nodded. "Look. I get it. But please don't tell my dad. He is still dealing with Haley's death, and I cant add to it." She said.

Spencer shook his head. "To late. He's on his way."

Lorelai looked up at the ceiling. "Spencer. I'm sorry."

Spencer nodded. "I don't think its me you need to apologize to."

Lorelai nodded "I know I have a few people to apologize to."

Aaron came into the room. "Are you okay?" He asked

Spencer took the opportunity to leave the room and go check in on some of the girls.

"I'm going to be fine." She said.

Aaron nodded. "Good." He sat down in the chair. "What did the doctors say?"

"I have a concussion. Waiting for some test results but likely I will be going home later." She said

He nodded again.

"Dad. I'm sorry." She said holding back tears.

"This family. Has lost someone very recently. And you go and pull a stunt like this? Almost joining her. What were you thinking?" He asked he was upset.

"I was told it was cleared." She told him.

"Agent Morgan told you not to go. He told you not to go in. He told you to wait." Aaron pointed out.

Lorelai nodded. "Okay. Yes I ignored his order. I realize that I am in big trouble for that, but I waited till it was cleared. Well till I was told it was cleared. How was I supposed to know they didn't do their job?" She asked.

"Your not. You were supposed to listen to your boss." He took a breathe. "You know what. I am here as your dad. Not Your boss. I will leave the lecturing to Morgan." He said

Lorelai nodded and closed her eyes. A few hours later she was cleared to go home. She was told to take it easy for a few days. Aaron took her home and she went and laid down. The next two days she stayed in bed taking it easy. She was cleared to return to work after that. She had texted Morgan letting him know when she would be back.

When Morgan got the text he texted her back.

'I want to see you in my office first thing that morning. You are not going to be back to work until we have a discussion.' He texted her.

Lorelai texted back 'I will be there.' She didn't know what else to say. She had been feeling sick about the whole situation. She had heard that Morgan thought she ignored him because he wasn't Hotch but that wasn't true. Also, the more she thought about it the more she felt guilty and the more she hated herself.

The next morning, she got up early and headed in. And she went to Morgan's office. He wasn't in there yet, so she just went in and sat down. She noticed a picture frame on his desk with a picture of Garcia she smiled a bit. After a few minutes of waiting, she got up and started to pace. Her nerves were started to get to her and slowly everything that had happened the last couple months came over her and she started to sob. She sat down and covered her face with her hands.

While she was crying Agent Morgan walked into his office. He had calmed down some with time, but he was still very annoyed with the young agent. He had everything he planned to do everything he planned to say but when he walked in and saw her crying every ounce of anger left him.

"Lorelai. What's wrong?" He asked going over to her and knelt by her.

She continued to sob and tried to speak but it just came out in gibberish. Morgan gave her a hug and held her. Once she had calmed down a bit he pulled apart and looked at her. "Lets try that again. I didn't understand." He said

Lorelai wiped some of her tears away and took a breathe. "I said I know I screwed up and I am so sorry. I know its not an excuse, but I don't think I have properly grieved. I thought I was fine.. maybe I'm not."

Morgan nodded. "You lost someone close to you. I know she wasn't technically your mother, but I know how close you had become." He said.

Lorelai nodded.

Morgan took a breathe and stood up he closed the door to his office and went around the desk and sat at his seat.

Lorelai looked up at him.

Morgan started. "I realize that you are going though a significant loss. And its okay to grieve however works for you. However, putting yourself at risk of ending up joining Haley is not acceptable. You not only put yourself at risk you disobeyed me. Over. And over again. Do you have any idea how lucky you are that they didn't take you. -You are there prime target. They could have taken you and used you to try and get charges dropped to release you."

Lorelai nodded she wasn't about to argue.

"We both know you have so much intelligence. You had to know all this so explain, what were you thinking?" He asked

She took a breathe. "I wasn't. There is no excuse." She said

"Your right. There is no excuse for ignoring a direct order from your team lead. Would you have ignored it if it came from Hotch?" He asked

She looked up at him. "Yes. I promise this was not ignoring you because your not Hotch. Honestly at this point you are more intimating to me than him." She said

Morgan smirked at that last comment. "Really?"

"Yes. As Spencer has said he has softened. A lot. And he has even more since. Haley." She said

Morgan nodded. "Well, that's good to know but that doesn't change what has to happen now."

Lorelai nodded. "I know. I understand."

"Good. Come here." He told her as he turned his chair to face away from the desk.

Lorelai got up and went over to him. Before she had time to react she was pulled over his lap in one swift movement.

Derek wasted no time in starting to spank her. He didn't need to lecture her. She understood why she was there. It wasn't long before she was crying.

Morgan took that as a sign it was time to wrap it up. He swatted her but half a dozen more times before sitting her up and hugging her.

Lorelai buried her face into his shoulder while she sobbed. Morgan held her till she calmed down. When she was calm he helped her to stand. He stood as well and looked at her. "You okay?" He asked

Lorelai nodded. "Yes. Again, I am really sorry."

Morgan nodded. "It is forgiven. We can move on."

Lorelai nodded. "Okay."

"You need sometime off to grieve?" He asked

"No. I am okay to continue working." She told him

"Alright. Than head to the squad room and show Spencer I didn't kill you." He said

Lorelai chuckled and headed towards the squad room.

When she got to the squad room she saw the whole team. She hadn't seen anyone except Spencer since before the warehouse.

"Hi." She said

They all looked up at her.

They said hello back and asked her how she was doing.

"I'm okay. Much better." She said

They all nodded and headed back to work.

Lorelai took a breathe and went and sat in her own desk. She looked up and saw Spencer looking at her. She smiled a bit. Spencer tilted his head. He could tell her smile was forced.

"Your sure your okay?" He asked which caused the rest of the team to look back up at her.

Lorelai nodded. "Yes. I am fine."

She started to get to work on some paperwork that she had to fill out from her on the job injury.

The rest of the team in the squad room exchanged looks. They knew she really wasn't okay but there wasn't much they could do unless she asked for help.
