CHAPTER VII
"You sure are eager to learn how to fight and be involve in this war, sweet Caroline." Kol commented. He held the punching bag so that it won't swing rapidly every time Caroline hit it.
"I don't want to sit in the corner and let you all do the dirty work." Caroline huffed. "I happen to live here too."
"You just don't like to be left out." Katherine piped in. She drank from the blood bag to replenish her strength. She just finished her spar with Caroline earlier.
"Why do you want to do the dirty work? Shouldn't you be sighing in relief that Nik doesn't want you to be part of this?" Kol pointed out.
"That's true. Aren't you like the 'moral vampire'?" Katherine quoted.
Caroline rolled her eyes. "Okay first, I don't know what you mean about the moral part but I know you meant that as an insult so don't bother to explain. I don't want to know. Second, we're at war right? And I'm practically living with you guys so it's pretty much declared which side I am in. Better prepare myself for the worst case scenario."
"And now you're rambling." Katherine groaned.
Caroline glared at her. "I only answered your questions!"
Kol chuckled lightly. "That's nice of you sweet Caroline. You just 'declared' where your loyalty lies."
Caroline was confused. "I thought we already established that. I mean, your family doesn't treat their enemies like how you treated Katherine and I right now."
"You're a smart one. I know you already have the answer for that. As for Katherine," Kol gazed at the brunette lady and shrugged nonchalantly. "I merely tolerated her presence."
"Glad we're on the same page, baby Mikaelson." Katherine sneered. Kol growled at her.
Caroline rolled her eyes at their behavior. "You know, it's not really hard to admit that you both like each other's company. Stop acting like you're forced to interact. It's getting old."
The older vampires looked at one another and shot disgusted looks.
"No way." Katherine disagreed.
"Not gonna happen." Kol declined.
Katherine and Kol were scheduled to help Caroline train today since the others have their own tasks to accomplish. Few hours after Klaus gave in to Caroline's request. Caroline told Klaus that she wanted to start immediately. Klaus, who was too tired to argue with her again, requested to give him a few hours then they would start their training. The others popped in from time to time to watch them train and give their own opinions. They also showed and taught her their own moves to fill in her knowledge about fighting.
Early in the morning, Caroline and Klaus started their training again. Caroline showed them the moves that she learned before Kol and Katherine took over the training from Klaus.
"Carebear, I think you should also need to learn how to be resourceful in your surroundings." Katherine suggested. "Don't just improve your physical strength but also how to act if you are suddenly in an unexpected situation."
"She meant that you need to learn how to be sneaky and manipulative, darling." Kol quipped and sipped on the blood bag. "Can't we just have a standby tourist around? I really like fresh blood instead of blood bags." Kol complained.
"And how am I suppose to do that?" Caroline asked and placed her hands on her waist. "Oh, just stop complaining and enjoy it." She glared at Kol.
"By observing, of course!" Katherine answered and ignored the other topic. "Or by taking advantage of your charms and beauty." She winked at Caroline.
Kol smirked. "Ohhh I like how you think Petrova. So Caroline darling, how about you try your charms on me?"
Caroline made a face and confidently said. "I know about that already. I apparently did a lot of successful blonde distractions in Mystic Falls."
Kol snorted. "That's because my brother made it easy for you." Kol grinned. "Come on, try me! Or are you shy?" Kol moved in front of her while he sipped the blood bag. He winked at Caroline. "Afraid you'll fall for me instead?"
Katherine scoffed. "Who is she? Elena?"
Caroline pushed Kol away and glared at Katherine. "Kat."
"People! What's with the chit chat?" Klaus announced as he entered the training room. Klaus walked towards Caroline and shoved Kol away. He lifted an eyebrow. "Sweetheart, I think your eagerness to learn has decreased. Do you still want to continue?"
Caroline rolled her eyes and pointed at the two. "Katherine talked a lot while Kol kept on complaining. It's distracting me!"
Katherine glared at Caroline. "Honey, I was just suggesting some ways."
"I doubt sweet Caroline's eagerness decreased, Nik! She's training nonstop without taking a break!" Kol complained.
Caroline tilted her head and mouthed to Klaus, "See?"
"It's a good thing that I brought this with me then." Klaus smirked and showed them some blood bags.
Kol groaned. "Blood bags again? When can we have tourists?"
Klaus ignored his brother and offered the blood bags to Caroline.
Kol was put off by being ignore and huffed. "We all know that drinking from the vein will make us stronger than these bloody bags would. It will help sweet Caroline a lot."
Klaus and Caroline stared at each other. Both were uncertain how to react from Kol's statement but they knew what he said was true. Kol and Katherine observed the staring with interest. "A conversation for another time." Klaus stated firmly and gave Caroline the blood bag.
"Drink sweetheart, replenish your strength. I'll teach you some ways how to kill after this." Klaus added. Caroline nodded and grabbed the blood bag. Once she took a sip, she finished it in a matter of seconds. She didn't know she was that hungry. She grabbed another one. "Easy love, take your time." Klaus said and patted her back.
Kol grinned. His sulky mood vanished after the stare down between the two. "So, we're showing Caroline how to kill now? Are you sure you're okay with that, darling?"
Caroline glared at him in reply while she sipped.
"It's good that you're trying to embrace your vampire characteristics, Care but you have to embrace it fully. A vampire is a predator. It is in our instinct to kill." Katherine lectured.
"I'm aware of that already!" Caroline snapped then realized her mistake. Katherine was just helping her. She didn't have to overreact. "I'm sorry Kat... It's just that..."
"No need to explain, love. We understand. We're not asking you to kill every now and then. We're just taking precautions here." Klaus said as he glared at Katherine.
Kol snorted. "It's weird to hear it from you Nik. Coming from someone who's impulsive and kills everyone when he's not pleased."
"Kol!" Klaus warned. "You're the one to talk, you love bloodshed!"
"Yep. It excites me." Kol answered casually and smirked. "The begging, screaming, and blood."
Caroline and Katherine looked at him with disgust.
"Now, now darlings. Don't look at me like that." Kol tutted. "I'm still the handsome, charming, youngest Mikaelson male. It just so happens that I have a bad side. Everybody has a bad side."
Katherine nodded. "I can't say that I don't agree with you there, baby Mikaelson."
Kol scowled at her. "Stop calling me that."
Katherine poked out her tongue. "Nope. It suits you." Kol glowered at her.
Klaus stared at Caroline after Kol said his words of wisdom. Caroline has a thoughtful expression on her face. Klaus would pay a million of dollars just to know what she's thinking right now. Her opinion on this subject matters to him because he, himself, has a dark side, a very dark side. He waited for her to voice out her opinion but instead, she just shook her head which left Klaus disappointed.
"Come sweetheart, let's start." Klaus said.
Caroline nodded and put her blood bag away. She stood in front of Klaus and exhaled. "Ready."
"In fighting, there's a rhythm, a beat, a pattern." Klaus raised his voice since Katherine and Kol were still arguing in the background.
"A pattern?" Caroline asked. Klaus nodded. "Attack, sweetheart."
Caroline did what she was instructed. She attacked using a double punches. Klaus blocked all her attacks. "Parar." Klaus commanded. Caroline ceased from attacking. She got accustom to Klaus' commanding by the use of different languages during training. She stood straighter. "Show me all you've learn, love." Klaus ordered.
Caroline nodded and threw a punch then kick then elbow. Klaus still blocked all her attacks. "La halte." Klaus commanded when he saw Caroline panting hard. They started again and again and again. Klaus noticed that Caroline started have a pattern in her attacks and smirked. "Femarsi." Klaus commanded.
Caroline exhaled heavily. They're vampires which means that their strengths are doubled so does the force of blocking from Klaus are doubled. What intrigued Klaus was Caroline's eyes were shining which meant that she realized something and now she's determined to try it out. They started again and this time, Caroline added some turning kicks and used side steps that Kol taught her. Klaus was pleased to see her improvements and decided to sneak some attacks too so that Caroline would learn how to block some attacks in between fights.
When they both arrived in a state where they attacked and at the same time blocked an attack, Klaus nodded in approval and smirked. "When you establish your pattern..."
Caroline smirked at him in return. Suddenly, she turned and pinned Klaus on the wall. "You change it." She finished his statement. She looked at Klaus and was pleased at herself. Klaus looked at her proudly in return. Caroline's arm locked Klaus on the wall while the other one was just above his heart. They panted hard from their fights then Klaus asked. "The head or the heart?"
Caroline looked at him in confusion. "None of this means anything if you can't make the final blow, love." Klaus stated resolutely.
Caroline's eyes flashed some uncertainty and her hold on Klaus loosened. "What if I can't do it?" She asked in a low voice. She's afraid that she might've disappointed him by her question.
Klaus smiled at the thought of Caroline's goodness. He grabbed her loosened hand and placed it on his heart. "You will... to survive." Klaus looked at her daringly. "Now, the head or the heart?"
Caroline gritted her teeth and pushed her hand into Klaus' heart. Klaus winced a bit but still stared at Caroline who did the same. Hesitation was present in her eyes but Klaus just smiled at her and encouraged her.
"Only Caroline can capture Nik's heart and have Nik encouraging her instead of cursing to death." Kol commented.
"Even at this sight, the sexual tension between these two is still heavy as fuck." Katherine piped in.
"What do you expect? The heart is the second most important organ after... you know." Kol wiggled his brows.
"Urgh." Katherine groaned in disgust.
They stopped arguing when they realized that Klaus and Caroline started training. They watched as Klaus threw in some commands and opinions while they fought. They noticed how synchronized the two were. Attack and defend. Side steps and turns.
Caroline released Klaus' heart and stepped away. "Does it hurt? Of course, stupid! Are you still hurting?" Caroline ranted. Klaus snickered. "I'm fine, love. How does it feel to hold my heart?"
Caroline looked at her bloody hand. "It feels weird. It feels like I have a responsibility."
"That's true because you're the only one who captured my heart like this." Klaus winked.
Katherine and Kol snorted and cringed. "Really Niklaus?"
"Argh. I hope to never hear those words again."
Caroline flushed and groaned. "Klaus." She whined. Klaus chuckled and held her waist. "Can't help it, love."
"I'm actually surprised, darling. I thought you have a bit of a background in regards to fighting since you're always the bait or the distraction especially to that powerful being." Kol pointed his brother.
Caroline shook her head. "It was either neck snapping or stab immediately in Mystic Falls."
Kol whistled, "And here I thought that the Salvatore brothers knew better than that since they already lived for a century."
"What do they know about supernatural war, Kol? The younger one has a problem with blood and the other one just want to be 'bad'. " Katherine pointed out while she played with her hair.
"Enough!" Klaus scolded before another argument breaks out between the two. "Elijah and Bekah will be here any moment now. Let's hope they found some good news."
Camille woke up surrounded by darkness. Camille panicked and found herself being tied up.
"Hello? Anyone there?"
"Can someone please help me?"
Camille groaned when there was no response.
"Not again."
Camille tried to pull her hands and hoped she could break the ropes.
"Hello?! Someone help!"
"Quiet human." Someone scolded.
"Who are you?" Camille asked.
Two figures stepped out from the shadows.
Camille gasped. "You're Sophie's sister."
"You're right. I'm Jane and this is Agnes." Jane introduced.
"Witches." Camille said and glared at them.
"I see. You're well oriented with the supernaturals." Jane commented.
"I have to be. I need to know who killed my uncle and twin." Camille retorted. "What do you want?"
"Ah yes. Father Kieran and his nephew. Forgive me Camille, your twin was a necessary sacrifice. I was the one who placed the hex on him." Agnes said offhandedly.
Camille scowled, "You little bitch! You're going to pay for that!"
Agnes only smirked in return. "Your uncle was very nosy too. We needed to kill him for his nosiness."
Camille struggled herself from the rope and threatened. "I will kill you!"
Agnes laughed while Jane hushed her down. "Stop provoking her Agnes."
Jane stepped closer to Camille and said. "You asked us what we want? We want to kill the hybrid."
"And what does it have to do with me?"
"You're our leverage." Agnes tutted. Camille scoffed.
"You have a deep value to Klaus, Camille."
"And what makes you say that?" Camille asked in curiosity. It got the best of her. She didn't care that she's tied down. She got distracted and wanted to know how did the witches conclude that she meant something to Klaus. A part of her wanted to be reassured that she is indeed valuable to him. If the witches could give that to her then to hell with being kidnapped.
"We heard rumors about you. Vampires treated you well for a mere human because of Klaus." Agnes said.
Camille hummed. She already heard those rumors but she thought that it was just around vampires. She didn't think the witches heard about it too.
"We captured Klaus once because we saw him leaving town." Jane said as she circled around Camille. "We thought he was running away but then I realized he must be coming after you at that time."
Jane took a step closer to Camille and hissed. "One of my coven kidnapped you and the information leaked. He killed my sister during that time!"
"He tried to save me?" Camille asked in disbelief. She didn't know about that. Marcel said that he was the one who led the rescue mission.
"Yes child. Now we know what his weakness is. We're going to lure him here." Agnes said and stared at Camille. "So make yourself useful and quiet down."
Camille didn't mind what the witches said. All she thought about was that she must really mean something to Klaus. Klaus might actually have some real feelings for her. She grinned widely at that thought. "So Klaus does really value me, after all." Camille smirked. "Klaus will be coming after me and he'll kill you all. He'll save me from you!"
"He'll realize that I'm gone in a matter of hours." Camille added victoriously.
"Klaus?!" Marcel yelled frantically as he entered the compound. "Anyone here?!"
Everyone vamped their way to the courtyard.
"Marcel, what do you want?" Kol asked.
Marcel heaved a sigh. "Cami's gone."
Everyone raised an eyebrow at his statement.
"So?" Rebekah sassed.
"I was at the Rousseau's' today and I noticed that Cami was still not around so I asked a few day walkers if they saw Cami. Apparently, the last time that they saw her was the time when she made a scene with Caroline." Marcel pointed out.
"SCENE?!" Klaus outraged and turned to the others.
"Oh shush, Klaus!" Caroline scolded and motioned Marcel to continue.
"I went to her house and didn't find her there. I had a search party for her but they didn't find her too. Then a witch approached me. She said that they want to see Klaus. She said she holds the life of someone you deeply value."
"Well, they got the wrong one. Caroline's here." Katherine drawled indifferently.
"So she must have meant Cami. She's being kidnap again." Marcel countered and glared at the Originals.
"What do you mean 'again'?" Caroline perked up.
"Camille was also kidnapped the day the witches captured Nik darling." Kol answered airily.
"It seems , they too, were under false assumptions. They thought it was Camille that actually meant something to Niklaus." Elijah mused.
"Which you made everyone believed." Marcel reacted.
Kol and Rebekah rolled their eyes at him.
"Klaus." Caroline called out. She was surprised that he stayed quiet in this matter. She saw Klaus clenched his jaw and fists. That's a bad sign. He's mad. Freaking mad. "Hey, don't worry. We'll save that Camille." Caroline comforted.
"I don't care about that pathetic bartender!" Klaus roared and faced Caroline.
Marcel was about to retort to his statement when Elijah shot him a glare. "Don't say another word Marcellus or else you will be dead. Niklaus is furious right now." Elijah said to him quietly.
"This is exactly the reason why I don't want to let others see what you mean to me! I want to protect you, Caroline!" Klaus enraged. "You could have been the one that's currently trapped in god knows where right now!"
"But I'm not!" Caroline argued.
"They were looking for my weakness! That's what endangers you, Caroline!" Klaus bellowed.
"Klaus-" Caroline was about to fight back when Klaus vamped away from the place. He had enough listening to her arguments.
Caroline huffed and turned to the others. "What are we going to do now?"
"We're going to save Cami." Marcel declared.
"Of course, Marcellus. We'll help you save your friend." Elijah stepped up. Marcel's lips formed a thin line and nodded. They brainstormed a plan and instructed everyone their duties. Kol and Rebekah slouched carelessly on the couch while Katherine checked her heels. "Do you think I should buy some new heels?" She asked Rebekah.
Rebekah looked at her heels and nodded. "Yes but good luck finding a nice one here."
Katherine huffed and sat beside Caroline who grumbled in her seat about Klaus and the situation.
"Aren't you glad that you were not the one captured?" Rebekah drawled as she looked at her nails.
Caroline huffed. "Actually, it's kind of annoying that they took someone else instead. It means that in everyone's eyes, that bartender is far more precious."
Kol and Katherine laughed at her response. "Ohhh so possessive, darling."
"Oh shut up!" Caroline barked and stood up. "I'll be in my room" She vamped upstairs while the three teased her.
"We must act fast. We need to save Cami immediately." Marcel stated aggressively.
Katherine rolled her eyes. "Please, I'm pretty sure that Camille must be over the clouds right now."
Everyone looked at her questioningly. Katherine explained in a bored tone. "If I'm the kidnapper I will gladly explain her purpose and when she knew that it's because of Klaus, that girl would be gloating."
Rebekah nodded. "Yeah, she's still under the impression that she was the one who influenced Nik."
Marcel shook his head at the behavior of the ladies. Too tired to argue with them. "Whatever. Let's just act this rescue plan quickly."
"On the contrary Marcellus, we need to plan this out slowly and carefully so that this will be the last one. We still haven't figure out that Celeste matter." Klaus announced as he walked back to the courtyard.
"What do you mean? She's been held captive for days already!" Marcel retorted angrily.
"A few more hours won't hurt." Klaus responded absentmindedly. He looked around and furrowed his brows because of a missing person.
"She's upstairs brother." Elijah informed.
Klaus nodded and looked upstairs. He heard footsteps and hummed in relief.
Marcel was about to argue with Klaus' declaration when Kol forced his shoulder down. "You really like to put your life in danger, don't you?" Kol muttered. Marcel winced at the pain he felt and looked at Kol. "Okay. Okay. I understand." He gritted. Kol nodded in satisfaction and let him go.
Katherine and Rebekah eyed Kol and Marcel carefully while Klaus and Elijah proceeded to plan everything.
"Davina?!"
Knock.
Knock.
Knock.
"Are you there? It's Caroline."
The door opened. "Caroline? What are you doing here?" Davina asked in surprise. Caroline looked around her surroundings first and asked. "Can I come inside first?"
"Uh, sure." Davina agreed hesitatingly and opened the door widely. Caroline stepped inside. Davina immediately shut door and wondered why Caroline looked like she was hiding or something. Davina's little less wary to Caroline now because she got to spend more time with her. Caroline held her promise to help Davina research for her family history. She visited and helped her scroll through the books for an hour or two and then leave whenever she received a message. She did that until they finally figured out the drawing.
"Umm." Caroline said as she looked at their other company inside.
"Oh He's Josh. My vampire friend. Josh, Caroline." Davina introduced them to each other.
"Nice to meet you." Caroline greeted politely and continued. "As much as I would like to sit down and chat but I have important matters to attend to."
"Oh-kay." Josh replied unsurely and exchanged looks with Davina.
Caroline turned to Davina urgently. "Davina, I need your help."
"Help for what?" Davina asked.
"Camille's been kidnapped." Caroline stated.
"What?!" Josh and Davina reacted.
"I'll assume you three are friends then but now is not the time to explain. I need you to do a locator spell." Caroline ordered. Her confidence made Davina comply immediately. "But I don't have anything that Cami owned in here." Davina said.
"I'll take care of that." Josh said as he vamped away.
"We have to act fast before they realize that I'm not in my room." Caroline murmured. Davina heard what she said and trailed off. "Is this a solo mission or..."
"Something like that." Caroline answered shortly. "I need to find that bartender."
"Why are you saving her?" Davina asked curiously.
"Long story. I don't have all day." Caroline replied airily.
"Here." Josh announced his arrival and threw the scarf to Davina.
"Get started." Caroline commanded and started to pace back and forth as Davina did the spell.
When Davina finished, she showed to everyone the result.
Caroline looked at the map and asked. "Where's that?"
"That's the abandon house near the ancestral cemetery. That's where the witches are hiding right now." Davina explained.
"Right. The hideout." Caroline mumbled and memorized the map. "Can I have another map of New Orleans just in case?" Caroline requested.
"I can take you there instead. I'll help you." Josh offered.
Caroline inclined her head and weighed the options. She asked urgently. "Have you considered the risks by helping me?"
Josh blinked. "You mean fighting the witches?"
Caroline nodded. "That and a certain vampire family..."
Josh glanced at Davina and replied uncertainly. "Yes..?"
Caroline hummed at his reply and ushered. "Okay let's go! We don't have time."
"Wait! I'll come too." Davina stopped them as she got ready.
"No!" Caroline said fiercely. "Marcel will be mad once he finds out."
"But!" Davina argued.
Caroline shook her head firmly. "I know they'll try to seek you out later to do a locator spell again. You have to stay here." Caroline commanded and shot her a warning look. "And don't breathe a word about this."
Davina backed down while Josh tapped her and smiled. "We'll be alright."
Caroline offered her a small smile too and vamped away with Josh.
Davina sighed in defeat. She wanted to help them. She wanted to argue but she knew that Caroline was in a hurry. She had a feeling that it might be a life or death matter. Seeing Caroline's movements today made her remember the way the Original Family moves whenever they plan something. They won't let other people hold the reins especially Klaus. Caroline commands and excels in quick thinking. She weighs the options very carefully. She could make you feel that you're doing the right thing by following her orders.
That must be why she's acquainted with the Original Family. She's similar to them but unlike the Originals, you could feel the goodness in her presence. That also made Davina wonder why she was acquainted with the Originals. She's a bit different.
"We're here." Josh declared as he stopped at a hidden spot. They stood just away from the viewpoint of the witches.
"Shhh. Lower your voice. We don't want the witches to hear us." Caroline scolded and pulled him to duck.
"Sorry." Josh mumbled and observed her.
"Okay let's do this." Caroline mumbled to herself. She closed her eyes and concentrated on her surroundings. This was one of her trainings. She needed to focus and listened intently. Tuned out all the unnecessary noise and focused on the heartbeats.
One.
Two.
Four.
Six.
"There are six witches surrounding the place." Caroline declared as she eyed the building.
"Woah. How did you figure that out?" Josh asked in amazement.
"I had training." Caroline uttered. "Never mind that. We need to save your friend right now. I could hear other heartbeats inside but there's one that's so slow and weak. I suppose it's Camille's. She must be on the verge of death. There's two... wait... I think three witches are with her. So, three inside and four outside. One on every corner. It seems like she's heavily guarded." Caroline rambled. Frustrated that her precision is still not on point.
Josh gaped at her. He wondered how she did that. He could barely hear the heartbeats inside the building while she even counted them. Is she some sort a secret weapon of the Originals' or something?
"Are you listening? Do you want to help or what?" Caroline snapped at him.
"Uh yes. I'm sorry. I'm just... wow.. I mean just wow." Josh stuttered in reply. He started to feel cautious in her presence.
"Well, I don't have time for your praises Josh. We have a human to save." Caroline retorted as she monitored the witches.
"Right." Josh mumbled and wondered loudly. "Why are you trying to save her anyway? I got the impression that you don't like her since you know... Rousseau's."
"You were there?" Caroline asked.
"Yep. Front row seats." Josh joked. "Nice comebacks by the way. I like the sass."
"Your friend happened to touch a nerve." Caroline scoffed.
Josh hummed. "Well yeah. I think Camille's a bit sensitive lately. Sorry about her."
Caroline shrugged.
Josh observed Caroline as she readied herself. She tied her hair into a ponytail and clipped the baby strands. It looks like she's about to fight. Davina filled him in with some information about her. Apparently, she's close with the Originals and actually had a decent conversation with Kol. Josh knew that there was something to Caroline and he wanted to know what. The Originals treated her like she belongs with them and that never happened before since the time he was turned. The family was distant to the others, Marcel was closer to them but there was still distance. Cami too, though it was only Klaus who really had a decent conversation with her while the rest only talked to her when needed.
"Who's that?" Caroline asked and snapped Josh out from his thoughts. He turned to see a woman walked towards the building.
"That's Sabine. She's a werewolf. I saw her at the bayou once and asked some new vampires like me about her. They said that the werewolves were the only supernatural staying in the bayou. They were 'exiled' from the Quarter and I think the city too. She's only allowed here because she haven't trigger her curse yet. " Josh explained.
Caroline furrowed her eyebrows and after a while, she scrunched her nose. "She's not a werewolf! Did everyone think she was one?"
"Yeah. She even said so. How did you know she wasn't?" Josh asked in curiosity.
"Wait. She said she was one?" Caroline asked in alarm. Josh nodded. "Did Marcel or the Originals know about her?" She urged. Josh thought for while and shook her head. "I think they do but I don't think they've met her yet."
"How did you know she wasn't?" josh repeated her question.
Caroline shook her head. "Long story. Have you never encountered a werewolf before? Didn't you notice that she smell the same with the witches?"
Josh shook his head. "I thought since she haven't trigger her curse, she would smell the same as the other supernaturals."
"You should keep in mind that every supernatural have their own distinct smell. You should take note of the smell of a werewolf because they're dangerous. Their bite could kill a vampire." Caroline lectured.
"Oh I know about that! Klaus' blood is the only cure for the bite right? I doubt I would know a werewolf distinct smell. They're exiled, remember?" Josh replied.
"Trust me you need to. Especially when they're just at the bayou. Still nearby, in my opinion." Caroline reminded. She watched as Sabine entered the building. "Remember, she's a witch and not a werewolf. I know because I have a witch friend and she smelled exactly like her."
"How-" Josh wanted to ask about her witch friend when Caroline hissed. "Don't ask."
Caroline let out a deep breath and processed all the things Josh said. She suddenly realized something and reacted. "No way." She mumbled to herself. "But it's also possible."
"What's the plan?" Josh asked. He assumed that she thought of a plan.
"Have you ever fought with the witches before?" Caroline asked.
"Not really. I'm always on guard duty of Davina. I've just recently received my daylight ring." Josh showed her his ring.
Caroline weighed the options and muttered. "Screw this." She turned to Josh and ordered. "You're going back to the Abattoir."
"What?" Josh was taken aback.
"Don't interrupt!" Caroline glared daggers at him and Josh cowered a little at the sight. She noticed this and sighed. "Look, I'm sorry Josh. I didn't mean to scare you. We don't have much time. I just need you to go back to the compound. I have to do this alone, Josh. I'll sneak in while you go and tell them about this place, okay?"
"Why you?! I should be the one sneaking in. I'm Cami's friend!" Josh insisted.
"As much as I dislike that girl, I'm kind of guilty that this happened to her. And no, I don't have time to answer your questions. Long story short, it was supposed to be me in her position right now." Caroline explained quickly.
Josh was about to argue again but then he realized that it was no use. Caroline was determined to do this on her own. "Okay. I can trust you right?" He asked hesitatingly.
"Of course Josh. Please trust me. I will save your friend." Caroline gave him a tight smile. "I also need you to tell something to the Originals. Take note. This is important. Tell them, Sabine. Celeste. Same. You got that?"
"Sabine. Celeste. Same." Josh repeated. He repeated the mantra in his mind.
"Good. Tell them that okay? Now go!" Caroline ordered.
Josh hesitated first then vamped away.
Caroline released a heavy breath when he left. Oh god. Why am I doing this? When did I ever get this brave? When?! Okay, Caroline Forbes, you can do this! You had training. You've improved your fighting. Your senses are better. You can handle yourself.
After doing all the necessary things. Caroline put up a brave face and thought. "Let's see if Kol's sneaking in lessons paid off."
Josh didn't immediately leave the place. He hid himself a little far from Caroline but he could still see the abandoned building. He saw Caroline sneaked behind one of the witches and attacked her. She did the same to the other witches. He could see the struggle the witches endured. The last one, she fought for a bit then knocked them all unconscious on the ground.
"She sure can fight." Josh praised as he watched. When Caroline was about to sneak inside, Sabine came out of nowhere. She knocked Caroline on her knees. She screamed painfully. Sabine must be doing that aneurysm. Sabine grabbed the unconscious Caroline and pulled her inside the building.
"Oh shit!" Josh cursed and quickly vamped away.
Caroline did a great job fighting with the guard witches when suddenly her head started to ache.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" Sabine made her presence known.
Caroline was on her knees and said. "You're Celeste, right?"
Sabine narrowed her eyes. "What do you know about Celeste?"
"You're her." Caroline croaked.
"You know, Caroline was it? I really do think that my coven kidnapped the wrong person." Sabine said evilly.
Caroline clutched her head because of the pain when Sabine stepped closer to her. "Now, you're the right captive." Sabine smirked and injected something. Caroline felt dizzy then her vision went black with the last thought in her mind. "The others are going to curse me to death when they found out."
Everyone gathered at the courtyard of Abattoir. Nightwalkers and day walkers. Everyone listened intently to the plan their leader formed.
"Josh!" Davina shouted and ran towards Josh when she noticed him at the entrance. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Josh replied. He looked pale and his body shook.
"Where's Caroline?" Davina asked quietly to him. Josh shook his head in response. Davina's eyes widened in panic.
"Did you just say Caroline?" Rebekah shrieked at the two. Everyone turned to her. Kol immediately vamped away from the courtyard and then back. He looked at Klaus cautiously. "She's not in her room."
Klaus jaw clenched and his body went rigid. He turned to Josh while his eyes changed to yellow. "You have a minute to explain before I rip your heart out, Joshua." He walked murderously towards him.
Josh tensed up. He was frightened since he knew that he only has bad news. He closed his eyes and stuttered. "C-caroline told me to t-tell you about this... S-sabine. C-celeste. Same."
"Oh?! She figured it out!" Kol cheered. "The fun's part is finally here!"
"Then we can proceed to the plan." Elijah said and turned to the vampires. He relayed his new orders.
"SILENCE!" Klaus yelled furiously. He took a step closer to Joshua and towered him. He demanded threateningly. "Where is Caroline now, Joshua?"
Josh trembled in fear and answered in a low voice. "S-she's abducted."
"SHE'S WHAT?!" Klaus roared as he slammed and pinned Joshua on the wall tightly. He showed his fangs and closed in to Josh's neck.
"No!" Davina shrieked. She moved closer to the two. "Don't kill him!"
Klaus turned to Davina maliciously. "Don't worry witch. You're next after I'm done with him."
Marcel flashed and moved Davina away from Klaus' sight. He stood protectively in front of her.
"Or perhaps I should kill you first instead since you knew what Caroline was doing and you never bothered to tell us!" Klaus let Josh go and flashed dangerously to Davina. He pushed Marcel to the ground and moved closer to the witch. Davina quivered in fear and spells of protection lost in her mind.
"Klaus!" Katherine stepped in and grabbed Klaus' arm to stop. Klaus turned and presented her his hybrid face. "YOU DARE!"
"Katerina!" Elijah also flashed beside Katherine and made a protective stance against his brother.
"Read!" Katherine pushed and gave her phone to Klaus. Klaus turned his attention to it. After he read, rage was more visible in Klaus' features. He fumed mad and made the other vampires cower to the side in fear.
Rebekah and Kol peeked at the message and laughed while they shook their head in merriment. Klaus growled at his siblings and moved towards the exit.
"Where are you going, Niklaus?" Elijah called out.
"To the bloody witches!" Klaus screamed.
"We need to plan this carefully." Marcel retorted his words earlier.
"NO USE FOR PLANNING! LET'S END THIS WAR ONCE AND FOR ALL!"
Caroline groaned and her eyes closed because of a familiar pain.
"Where am I?" She croaked when she felt someone untying the ropes on her. Caroline slowly opened her eyes and was surprised to see an unexpected face. "What are you doing here?!"
"Hello to you too, gorgeous."
