Disclaimer: I only own Kat and Ophelia.
"You girls feeling okay?" Ophelia questioned a few days later. She looked over her sister and friend in concern. She was pinning a few dresses she had made for one of her classes that she had Kat and Chica wearing. She scribbled a few notes in her notebook.
"Yeah, fine," Chica insisted. She flinched when Ophelia stuck her by accident. "Ow!"
"Sorry," Ophelia apologized. "How about you, Kat?"
"Fine," Kat replied monotonously.
"If I had known that question was going to end up in there, I wouldn't have kept playing," Ophelia asserted. "I love you girls; I don't like seeing you upset."
"It's okay, Lia," Kat said. "How were we supposed to know?" She looked down at the green dress Ophelia had made her. "You're amazing, you know that?"
Ophelia wrote down what adjustments to make and smiled. "Glad you like your dresses; can you send the guys in?"
Chica went to the door and opened it. "Your turn, guys."
Ophelia smiled at the girls before frowning slightly; she seemed to be struggling just a little bit with her designing classes lately. Curse that attractive boy in her class. She snatched her coffee off the side table and took a swig.
"Lia, not that I don't like helping you out, but did you have to put me in blue?" Bonnie asked casually as he strolled into the room with Freddy and Foxy behind him.
"What's wrong with blue?" Ophelia questioned, her voice low. She flipped to a fresh page in her notebook.
"Nothing, I just don't know with my hair being purple," Bonnie said with a shrug.
"Then don't help," Ophelia snapped.
The guys were startled, sharing glances before setting their eyes back on the blonde, who pinched the bridge of her nose.
"I'm sorry," Ophelia apologized. She took another drink of her coffee. "I'm just stressed, and I shouldn't take it out on you."
"It's fine, really," Freddy insisted. He placed a hand on the blonde's shoulder. "We're all under some stress." He glanced behind him. "Right guys?"
"Right," Bonnie and Foxy chorused.
Ophelia cracked a smile as she picked up her pins. "Who's first?"

A couple weeks later was Halloween, which was also Kat's birthday.
Always one for a party, Ophelia would go all out while making sure it was still in Kat's comfort zone. She dragged Freddy and Bonnie with her to get party supplies while Chica took over the kitchen to make food.
"Need help, lass?" A voice broke through the silence in the kitchen.
Closing her violet eyes momentarily, Chica turned around to see Foxy in the doorway. "Not from you, thank you." She said politely. "Why don't you keep Kat busy?"
"How am I supposed to do that?"
The blonde shrugged. "I don't know, take her to a haunted house, she'll love you forever."
Foxy chose instead to cross the kitchen and stand behind Chica. His eyes burned into the blonde's head.
"Wh-what are you doing?" The blonde stammered. "I'm very busy."
"Do you not like me?" Foxy questioned as he turned Chica around to face him. "You don't seem to like being around me."
"It's not that," Chica insisted. "I had a bad breakup, I'm not ready to be around guys." She scooted around Foxy to get to the fridge. "Can you get the mail?"
Trying to suppress a sigh, the redhead male nodded and went outside. He practically tripped over a box sitting on the porch addressed to Kat from someone named Stephanie. He was confused since Kat had never mentioned a Stephanie, but shrugged and lugged the box inside. He placed it on the dining room table.
"Where's Kat?" He called into the kitchen.
"Check to her room," Chica shouted in frustration. A crash sounded followed by a groan.

Kat was calmly reading Christine in bed when someone knocked on her door. She put her bookmark in and granted permission for the knocker to come in.
To her surprise, Foxy opened the door and came inside. "Want to go to a haunted house?" He offered.
Kat laughed and said, "They sent you to keep me busy?"
"You guessed right."
"Okay, let me change and we'll go." She was eager to wear her costume.
Foxy nodded and left the room. He was curious about Stephanie but decided not to ask.
"Chica put you on Kat duty?" Ophelia's voice floated through the hallway as she ascended the stairs. She laughed when Foxy nodded. "Chica doesn't like anyone else being in the kitchen when she's making food for our birthdays, she'll probably kick Freddy out soon. I had to fight with her for her birthday two months ago." With that, the blonde disappeared into her room.
Feeling a stare on him, Foxy sighed and turned to see Bonnie studying him, like he was trying to work a puzzle. "Hey man, let's talk." He glanced at Kat's door before going down the hall.
"Maybe you can help." Bonnie confessed. He pulled Foxy into his room and left the door open a crack in case Kat opened her door.
"What makes you think I could help instead of, oh I don't know, her sister or best friend?" The redhead man leaned against the wall, curiosity gnawing at him. He pulled out a cigarette.
"Chica's in cooking mode and Ophelia's got a bit of a big mouth," Bonnie replied simply, even though he looked uncertain. "Don't smoke that, the girls will kill you."
"I'm not," Foxy said defensively. "I'm just putting it in between my lips." He raised his hand.
"Foxy!" Kat and Ophelia's voices knifed through the hair, startling said man.
Bonnie chuckled as Foxy looked at the door bewildered. "How?" He sputtered. Eyes wide, he put the cigarette back in the pack.
"As you know, I've known the girls for years," Bonnie began. "I've liked Kat for so long." He sighed sadly. "We dated for a few months in high school, but my parents forced me to break up with her. I didn't want to, but I still lived with them."
"Why?" Foxy inquired curiously. He would never admit it, but he secretly was a sucker for forbidden romances.
"They found out something about Kat and her family that they didn't like."
The redhead blinked, this was news to him. Then again, there were things about him that Kat and Ophelia didn't know so he guessed it was only fair.
"Don't think I'm going to tell," Bonnie scolded softly. "Kat would never forgive me. she doesn't exactly like talking about it unless she really trusts someone."
Foxy swore under his breath. "Then what did you bring me in here for?" He asked in irritation.
The purple hair man tilted his head. "Honestly, I'm not sure."
The curiosity was killing Foxy, but he knew he'd have to wait. For now, he would take Kat to a haunted house.
