3 MONTHS LATER
"The Grey-Shepherd method," Meredith read off, scrutinizing the front cover of the medical journal Derek had handed her. She glanced at him. "I hate the photo."
"Why? You look good," Derek said from over her shoulder. He leaned in and kissed her softly on the cheek.
"Yeah, but you have to say that," Meredith mumbled. Laughing, Derek took the magazine from her and propped it up on the flower vase in the center of the kitchen table. "At least they put my name first," she surmised.
"Well, it obviously had to be in alphabetical order," Derek said matter of factly. "Any other significant pieces of mail?"
Brushing aside the electrical and water bill, Meredith picked up an envelope with her and Derek's names inscribed on the front in loopy cursive. She raised an eyebrow at him, perplexed. "We have a card. I have never received a card in my life."
"Check the return address," Derek said, taking the card from her and turning it over in his hands. Suddenly he smiled. "It's from Pam Wood."
"Really?" Meredith asked eagerly, grabbing the envelope from his hands and tearing it open. "She must have had her baby."
Sure enough, a photo fell out, followed by a notecard. Meredith picked up the photo and held it out so that Derek could see it, too. It was of a tiny girl wrapped in a pink blanket. Even in her young age she bore an incredible resemblance to Pam.
"What does the note say?" she asked Derek, who was holding it.
He read it off. "Drs. Shepherd and Grey- This is my daughter Brianna. 21 inches long and 7.6 pounds of perfection. Because of you not only do I get to meet her, I get to watch her grow up. I can't thank you enough."
"That's cute," Meredith said, smiling wistfully. Derek looked at her strangely for a moment before shaking his head.
"So where's everyone else? Its not nearly frat house enough this morning. More like a single bed dorm."
Meredith smiled at him mischeviously. "I kicked them out."
Confused, Derek tilted his head to the side. "Why?"
"Because I figured you would appreciate some privacy when I asked you to move in."
Derek faltered for a moment before grinning broadly. "What?"
"I want to live together," Meredith said, smirking.
Leaning into the counter, Derek raked a hand through his hair. "And where are Alex and Izzie going to go?"
Meredith shrugged. "I gave them the key to your trailer."
"So this is non negotiable," Derek said, crossing his arms.
Reaching up, Meredith looped her arms around his neck. "Why? Were you going to say no?"
Derek smiled at her suggestively. "No. I just wanted to make sure you weren't about to back out."
Meredith shrieked as he pressed her up against the counter top and kissed her. "Oh my god," she breathed. "We have the entire house to ourselves."
She shuddered at the feeling of Derek's breath against her neck. "Exactly."

Sorry for the short chapter, I had to hurry. I will be away until the 4th, so I don't know about updates until then - but hopefully I made up for it by giving Meredith and Derek some home alone time;) And hopefully the reviews will be reflective of it...
