Chapter 3: The bar

A few weeks later, Eddie was well integrated to the team, everyone liked him, even Buck who felt threatened first but now they are besties.

After a shift, they are all at a bar, enjoying their night. Hen and Chimney were talking about love stuff, Bobby was with Athena enjoying each other. Buck was in his thoughts, probably thinking of Abby. Eddie was at a table talking with Kaylee about his son.

"He's great, and I really want to do the best for him after what happened with his mom" said Eddie.

"Eddie, I'm sure your son knows that you are the best dad, and he knows that you'll always be here for him" replied Kaylee drinking in her cocktail.

"Thank you, Kay" said Eddie looking deeply at her.

They smiled at each other and then Kaylee suddenly noticed someone walking towards him, it is a face she didn't want to see anymore. In a panic, she looked at Eddie and exclaimed.

"Kiss me, right now" she said looking at the guy.

"What?" asked Eddie chocked.

"That guy behind you, he's my ex-boyfriend, and probably one of his new booty calls, please" she begged him.

He turned his head, looked at Kaylee's ex and the girl next to him, then turned to Kaylee again, grabbed her cheek and kissed her. They were both flabbergasted. It was very pleasant, and both did not want this kiss to end. They stopped kissing but kept looking at each other, surprised of the feelings this kiss brought to their hearts. But they were interrupted by Kaylee's ex.

"Kaylee? What a surprise?" said the guy approaching the table.

"Jake, you mean what an unpleasant surprise" added Kaylee annoyed finishing her drink.

"See, you still mad at me" continued Jake.

"Why? Why will I be mad at you? Oh, wait, I remember, you cheat on me with my partner and you had the nerve to ask the entire station to not tell me anything" said Kaylee with anger coming at her cheeks.

Eddie seeing that, he introduced himself to try to calm her down.

"Hi, I'm Eddie, Kaylee's boyfriend."

"Hi, Jake" added Jake looking at Eddie with jealousy.

"We should go babe" said Eddie "the others are waiting for us."

They stood up and Eddie put his hand around her waist and let Jake alone with his girl.

As they walked toward the bar, she thanked him and thought that the kiss was probably a terrible idea and he felt the same way, because the way they both felt at that moment, was probably going to bring a lot more trouble.
