A/N: I had to cut some of the scenes in the game to get to the ones about the love letter Eiko writes to Zidane just to piece them together for this fic. I've been working on this for a few weeks to around a month but forgot about it since I was distracted by other stuff such as life, videogames, other fanfics, etc. so here you go.

Cast: Terry Bogard – Baku

F!Byleth Eisner – General Beatrix of Alexandria

Link – Blank

Richter Belmont – Marcus

Simon Belmont – Captain Adelbert Steiner

Leaf – Eiko Carol

M!Byleth Eisner(Beret) – Doctor Tot

Leaf smirked to herself when she noticed that Lucina was too busy with her royal duties as princess to be with Akira and cooked up a scheme to win his affections. She thought that this was her chance to get the thief while he was still alone and strike while the iron was still hot.

"With Lucina out of the picture, now's my chance to win Akira's heart!" The brunette smiled. "First, I'll write him a love letter. I'm gonna make it the most romantic letter ever written!"

Meanwhile this was happening, Beret exits Lucina's room then paced through the castle's halls in thought. "Becoming a queen may place quite a burden on Princess Lucina, but she must persevere. The people of Ylisse are watching."

He eventually walks down the stairs, only to encounter Leaf as she makes her way through the hall as well.

"He looks pretty smart!" Leaf said to herself before approaching him. "Hey, you look like the bookish type!"

The professor merely chuckled, "What gives you that impression?"

"You really want me to explain?"

"Oh, yes. I'm very curious."

The young summoner inspected Beret's appearance, "Where should I start...? First, your robe! Second, your nerdy hat! Third, your eyeglasses! All signs of a nerdy philosopher!"

"You don't hold back, do you?" Beret laughed.

"Hey, are you a writer?" She asked.

He nods, "Well, yes. I did make my living as a writer for a while."

"Will you help me write a letter?"

"A letter?" The tealette thinks for a moment before nodding. "Gladly, if you think I can be of assistance."

"Okay, then. Follow me," the summoner said as she walks away into a nearby side room.

Beret is left alone again as something about Leaf's appearance catches his eye, something of which turns out to be her horn.

"That girl has a horn... That horn...

"I had completely forgotten about it until now. I'd never been as surprised as I was that day. A ship drifted ashore after a storm. Inside the ship were a woman and a baby girl. The woman was dead, but the girl was still breathing...

"Imagine my surprise as I looked into the girl's face! Because the girl looked exactly like Princess Lucina, who had just passed away. With one exception, she had a horn! A human with a horn...Where did she come from?

"King Chrom ordered the girl's horn removed and the girl cried out in pain. He and his wife, Queen Robin, decided to raise the girl as Princess Lucina. But that girl who spoke to me, could she be related to Princess Lucina?"

Beret pondered this for a moment before an impatient Leaf runs back in the hallway huffing slightly, snapping the man out of his thoughts. "Hey, will you hurry up?"

"Oh, excuse me."

He then follows Leaf into the other room to write the letter. Once he was done the brunette holds it up into the air.

"It's finished!" Leaf cheered. "Akira will fall in love with me the instant he reads this letter! Thanks, Mister!"

The teal haired professor chuckled with a bow, "It was my pleasure, my lady."

"Oh, I forgot to tell you. My name is Leaf! I'm from Madain Sari! I hope to see you again! Buh-Bye!"

She turns on her heel and runs out of the room, leaving Beret to blink in her direction before realizing instantly where the girl said she was from.

"From Madain Sari?" He thought aloud to himself, "Madain Sari is the village of summoners, but I thought it was only a legend. What could this mean...?"

Leaf grinned while running through the hallway, "Oh, I can't wait to hand this letter to Akira! Where did he go, anyway?"

She runs to the stairs, but Terry walks out of a doorway on the side. Leaf ends up bumping into him and exclaims as she is knocked over the railing. The summoner nearly falls to the first floor, only to be caught by the second-floor railing. Terry remains oblivious to this and walks down the stairs to the first floor, until Leaf screams for help that is.

"Hey, are ya okay?" Terry asks as he looks up at the girl.

"C-C-Can't breathe...!" Leaf wheezed.

"Sorry!" He apologized, "I didn't see ya jump out. But yer too high up. I can't getcha down!"

He starts laughing which immediately annoys her and she drops her letter in the process.

"Oh, shoot. My letter... Hey, if you can't get me down, then deliver that letter to Akira! Alright!?"

The blonde picks up the letter before laughing again, "To Akira? Yeah, no problem."

He walks out of the castle while Leaf is left hanging there, flailing her arms frantically.

"What am I supposed to do now!?" She huffs before folding her arms.

Outside, Terry is at the waterfront in front of the castle while waiting for the boat, only to find that the boat hasn't arrived yet much to his disappointment.

"Hey, the boat ain't here!"

In the meantime, Simon and two Ylissean soldiers run onto the scene on their patrol around the castle grounds.

"Castle patrol, completed!" Simon exclaims until they see Terry standing near the water. "Huh? Why, if it isn't Terry, the leader of Tantalus!"

"Who just called my name?" The blonde asks as he immediately turns around to see the other man, "Oh, it's you."

One of the knights asks if they should capture him but their commander shakes his head then dismisses them. "No, he saved my life. You may go. I will handle this."

"Yes, sir!" The soldiers give him a salute before running off.

"Ain't such a knucklehead anymore, huh?" Terry remarked.

"Silence!" Simon bellowed. "This is no place for thieves! You must leave, now."

The blonde thief shrugged, "So that's how it is, huh? Do I gotta remind you that one of my boys saved your kingdom?" He then waved a hand dismissively in the air. "But I bet you ain't got no ears for listenin' to a lowlife like me."

"Are you talking about Akira? Yes, he did protect the princess and her kingdom. But that doesn't change the fact that you are all thieves! I cannot let your kind roam about the castle!"

"No appreciation whatsoever, eh?" Terry frowned a little. "Well, I don't got any reason to stay here, anyway. Hey, you know where Akira might be?"

"He hasn't visited the castle since we returned." Simon replied. "Maybe he can teach you a thing or two about proper manners!"

The thief yelled back, having been fed up with the knight's attitude, "Okay, I get yer point! I've had enough of yer self-righteousness!"

He laughs just as the boat arrives and tells the guard to take him the town of Ylisstol which then departs. Unbeknownst to him however that he dropped the letter he was supposed to give to Akira and later laughs it off. Simon had run off, but his yelling had somehow attracted the attention of Byleth as she walks to where the four men were originally.

"Ah, so it was Simon, I thought I heard him yelling." She sighs at this before speaking once again. "Ylisse is at peace again... Yet my heart is full of sorrow. Why...?"

Byleth notices the letter on the ground and picks it up. "Hmm? "Simon must've dropped this. Let's see..."

She looks at it and reads it before learning what kind of letter it is, "When the night sky wears the moon as its pendant, I shall await you at the dock. Wh-What is this letter!? Did Simon write me a love letter? Simon..."

A few hours later until twilight, and Leaf is at the water fountain at the front of the castle. She sighed as she finally realized that she wouldn't be able to win the object of her affections over possibly due to their age difference and that he already had his eyes currently set on Lucina.

"So, there's only room for Lucina in Akira's heart," the summoner moped dejectedly. "I wish I hadn't written that stupid letter, Akira looked so sad. Isn't there anything I can do for him?"

All of a sudden the brunette girl got up and screamed in frustration before sighing again. "Akira! I hate you! You insensitive fool! You don't even know how I feel... I feel bad about ditching him, but I really don't feel like seeing him tonight. I gotta hide before he shows up!"

She's about to run away when she hears someone's footsteps heading her way. "Shoot! Someone's coming! Could it be Akira!?"

The brunette runs off and hides behind one of the two sets of stairs leading past the water fountain, just as both Richter and Link appear.

"There's no one here, Bro," Richter said before taking a quick look around.

"I guess I'm early," Link shrugged before folding his arms.

"Maybe. I wonder who wrote you that love letter?"

"Well, just read the letter. I bet she's beautiful!" The blonde replied.

The male brunette raised an eyebrow, "Really? Are you sure you didn't write it yourself? I mean, you caught the letter falling from the floor above you, right?"

"I'm telling you, she was too shy to hand me the letter herself!" Link argued back. "And if you don't think I'm a ladies' man, you're wrong. Chicks are intimidated by good-looking guys."

The male brunette hears footsteps and tries to get his friend's attention. "Someone's coming!"

"Richter! Don't interrupt me while I'm talking!"

"Let's hide, Bro!" Richter whispered, getting a frown in response.

"Alright, alright."

Link quickly drops the letter and he and Richter hide behind the right staircase; Leaf is still behind the left one. Both parties eavesdrop just as Simon appears.

"I must tighten up security around the castle from now on!" The blonde knight said then started his patrol. "Dusk to dawn, rain or shine, I must patrol the castle! Right, clear! Left, clear!"

A letter on the ground catches his eye and he picks it up to inspect it. "Huh? It's a piece of paper. This looks like a letter. Let's see.."

He begins reading it, "When the night sky wears the moon as its pendant, I shall await you at the dock. M-M-My goodness! Th-This is a love letter! Who wrote it to whom!?"

The knight then checks for any names only to find none. "Hmm... No address or addressee... Did someone drop it here, knowing that I would pass by? Who could it have been...?"

Just then Byleth walks up to him from behind and calls his name.

"Simon..."

Simon turns around and faces her, "Byleth... Was it you...?"

'A-Are they in love?' Leaf thought quietly to herself as she watch the two although she wasn't alone.

Richter poked Link's arm to get his attention, "B-Bro..."

"Shh! Quiet!" Link hissed.

Simon and Byleth approach each other, a light pink blush dusting their cheeks.

"Simon..."

"Byleth..."

Leaf tensed up as she wondered what was going to happen soon the male brunette complained that his nose was bleeding, to which his blonde friend hissed at him to plug it up with his thumb. Meanwhile, Simon and Byleth take a step forward until they're now right beside each other. And Terry takes this time to appear by announcing himself with a sneeze, causing the general and knight to step back.

"AAA-CHOO!"

"Boss!?" The Tantalus members exclaims in shock.

"Oh, you totally ruined the scene!" The summoner pouted as the mood was now lost, no thanks to Terry.
