Chapter 2:-
"I, Princess Nefertiabet, command you to leave my kingdom."
Crosshair scoffed, "Go away youngling. And never speak about this to anyone."
Tech rolled his eyes, "Cross! Is that how you talk to a Princess? Forgive us ma'am, we do not know where we are."
The Princess relaxed a bit, "You're in Egypt. In my father's kingdom."
"Egypt? Where's that?"
"On Earth? Are you not from here?"
"No. We're not. This is what happened…."
Few minutes later…
"I understand it all now. Are you looking for these by any chance?"
Tech beamed, "Oh yes! Thanks a lot Princess! If we can have it back now…"
"No you can't!" the Princess snapped, "I'm gonna give these to my father. They might cheer him up."
Hunter looked at her, "Your father's sad? Why?"
The Princess looked down sorrowfully, "My father wants to commemorate the gods and our ancestors by-"
"You people believe in gods? Crosshair ridiculed, "how ancient."
She glared at him, "If I may be allowed to finish? Good. As I was saying, my father wants to build a grand monument to commemorate the god and our ancestors. Many architects have come and gone, but none of the structures seem to please him. That's why he's sad."
Wrecker grinned and glanced at Tech, "Hey, don't you always keep fiddling with things to make new devices? Why don't you become an 'architect' for now and design a blueprint for her father?"
Tech nodded, "I suppose I could. But you have to give me back my datapad and the capacitor. Deal?"
"I give you my word."
On the way to the palace…
"What are you gonna design."
"A pyramid. The colours would match perfectly with the surroundings and I suppose it's the only structure that can withstand the weather conditions here."
"How can we trust her? She might not give those things back to us once we're done."
"We have to trust her. We have no choice."
"If this goes wrong, which it might," Crosshair gave his rifle a jerk, "I'll be ready."
"We're not killing anyone Cross!" Echo exclaimed, "These people don't even seem to have any dangerous weapons."
"You never can tell…"
A few hours later…
"Father, I have some good news for you, but I wish to speak privately."
"Guards, wait outside."
The Bad Batch take of their hoods (that the princess had lent them)…
"What sorcery is this?!"
Hunter stepped forward, "We mean no harm your highness. We met your daughter at the riverbank and she asked us to help you build a monument. Please let us explain."
"As shown in the diagram, the four-pointed ends of the structure matches with the four-cardinal direction of the compass." Tech calmly explained.
"What's a compass?" The princess asked.
"It doesn't matter." Crosshair snarled.
"I like your design. But how will I get my workers to lift those heavy blocks of stone up to that high as shown in your diagram? It's impossible!"
Tech opened another blueprint, "I have designed a few machines to help you build the pyramid. But you must promise me that you'll destroy our machinery and records and leave no trace of us ever visiting this planet once we're done."
"If you succeed in building this monument, your conditions shall be met."
A few weeks later…
Tech excitedly ran up to Hunter who was talking with Echo, "If we build the pyramid right here, it will be exactly in the center of the planet and we can also build it facing the north pole!"
"Shh! From what I've hear from the locals, these people believe that the Earth is flat!"
"Oh okay…"
Echo thought about something and suggested, "We can coat the outer layers of this structure with limestone. With that, it'll be able to with the harsh weather conditions, the environmental wear and tear, and will remain standing for years to come!"
"Good idea."
At the palace…
"How are you so good? I lost five times in a row!"
"I'm not a sniper for nothing kid." Crosshair chuckled as he picked up the scattered marbles.
"These dates are so good!" Wrecker exclaimed as he popped a few in his mouth, "Can you give me some to take back to our own galaxy?"
"Sure!"
"Thanks kid!"
Outside…
"Though our guests don't want any credit for their hard work, we owe them a debt of gratitude. Therefore, I commission you to gather some of the best artists and draw some hierographics of our visitors from space inside the pyramid." the Pharaoh commanded the royal artist.
"It shall be done."
Finally…
"Your highness, our work here is finished. By your permission we shall return to our galaxy."
"You shall, and thankyou for your help. And as per your conditions, your equipment is being burnt as we speak. I have also ordered my workers to never speak about your visit."
"Here is your precious datapad and capacitor."
Tech smiled, "Thank you princess."
"And some dates for Wrecker!"
"Yum!"
"Won't your people be worried that you left for so long without a trace?"
"They won't. We can say that our mission had some difficulties. We shall reach our galaxy in a few hours from now."
"If you do not crash the Havoc on the way back that is!"
Tech rolled his eyes, "Yeah, very funny Echo. Let's go now."
"Goodbye! We'll miss you!"
Back in the Havoc…
"I'm so glad I got my datapad back! Years of research could have been lost in a flash."
"I didn't have to kill anyone after all." Crosshair muttered.
"So? What do you want, a gold medal?"
"I didn't piss off anyone either."
"Gold medal it is."
"Haha… buckle up guys, we have a mission to finish!"
And so, the mystery of how the pyramids were built remains… well, a mystery! If stones could talk, what a strange tale they would have for us to hear!
THE END!
