Guys... it's been so long. I'm so sorry! Just been a lot going in in LIFE. Anyway, here's a little filler chapter and another one is on the way soon... hope you're all staying safe!

Lunch hadn't been too bad. Rachel and her dads were so close and they clearly adored her. Quinn felt almost somewhat jealous. There had never been much warmth in her own family home… not even when she was little. She'd never received even half the affection that Rachel got. The Berry men were also extremely kind and understanding of her situation. Over a delicious spread of food they'd brought back from their trip away, which she practically inhaled, they'd explained to her that they were more than happy to provide a safe space for her. They apparently knew Puck's mom well too, and they wanted to help. She felt like a bit of a charity case, honestly, but she couldn't complain. She had her own room her and the Berry men told her she was welcome to anything she needed. The weekend had been sobering for Quinn, who never wanted to ask for anything from anybody. That's why she always loved being on top. But now she was beginning to realise that beggars could not be choosers and she could be in a much worse position.

All that being said, she was now exhausted. In fact, she was constantly exhausted since all this had started. So she had politely excused herself to her bedroom after thanking the Berry men a lot. Sure she was a bitch, but she wasn't rude. She just wanted to make herself scarce for the rest of the day and prepare herself for a day at school tomorrow. It was bound to be a rough one what with Finn being so mad at her, her rejecting Puck's advances and it being Sectionals week on top of all that.

She was just about to give into her bed… just to lay down for half an hour or so. After all, she'd barely looked at her homework all weekend and she still wanted to remain on the top of her class. But a knock at the door quickly diminished her plans of doing nothing for a little while and before she knew it, Rachel Berry was bounding into her room. She rolled her eyes and covered her face with her pillow to muffle a groan, "Ugh, Berry, have you never heard of knocking?"

Rachel rolled her eyes, "Quinn, I did knock. I simply did not wait for your response." she explained before biting her lip, "Sorry if I invaded, were you in the middle of something? I simply thought that since we have now settled on your living status, as in you will be here with me, it would be silly if we didn't use this new found time together to be productive. After all, Sectionals is this week and though I think we have a strong set… despite me not having the solo, it never hurts to practice. You're only as good as your weakest link, not that I think you're our weakest link. In fact, you have a very pretty voice Quinn. Maybe sharp at some points but that is only to be expected. You don't have the years of vocal training that I have. But what I'm saying is… do you want to go over some of the harmonies for Sectionals for me?"

Rachel finally stopped talking and Quinn wasn't sure whether the girl had taken a breath for that entire time. She also wasn't sure if she'd been insulted or complimented. The thing she was definitely confused about is why she couldn't take her eyes off of Rachel's lips. She was snapped out of her daze by Rachel huffing, "Well, Quinn? Will you?"

The blonde was torn between shutting Rachel down completely and just hiding under her duvet for the foreseeable and giving into the shorter girl… but only because the baby was making her soft, and she did appreciate that Rachel, although selling her out in the first place, did somewhat rescue her and give her a safe space. "Twenty minutes, Berry. Only because I'm not totally sure on that middle section of Proud Mary."

Rachel beamed back at her. This could definitely be the start of a friendship. She was aware that when they went back to school in the morning, there were a myriad of issues to overcome. Such as Quinn's situation with Puck, her situation with Finn and just general school life… but that was a bridge they would cross when they got to it. For now, she was just happy to have a friend… and some extra Sectionals practice.
