A little surprise epilogue! I really wanted to show what happened to everyone years later. This chapter contains a bit of mature content as well :) Loveyou all!
I don't own the characters or setting, they belong to JKR
Hermione twirled her rings around her finger, a happy smile on her face. Loud music filled her ears, as she watched people twirl around in front of her. Her eyes were glued and a certain redhead. He laughed, twirling around to the upbeat song, a small girl with brown curly hair in his arms. She giggled, standing on his feet, pure love all over her face. Hermione's heart felt ready to explode, watching the man she loved. The song ended and they walked hand in hand, back to where she was sitting. The little girl, around five years old, quickly letting go of George's hand when she noticed Hermione.
"Mummy, did you see me dancing?" She squealed, and Hermione chuckled, reaching down to pick the girl up. She spun her around, and then set her down, both laughing. George pulled his wife into a tight hug, placing a quick kiss to her lips. The little girl groaned in disgust, covering her eyes.
"Rose, why don't you find Auntie Ginny? I think I saw her by the punch" Hermione pointed over to the very pregnant redhead, who was waving at them. The little girl took off towards her aunt. Hermione took George's hand, placing it on her barely showing stomach.
"Someone's dancing up a storm in here too" She teased and George's eyes widened, quickly lowering himself to press his ear above her belly button.
"Hello darling, I hope you're enjoying the many crescent rolls your Mummy has been eating" He teased and Hermione smacked the back of his head. He chuckled, standing back up.
"How are you feeling though, love? Still good?" He asked lovingly. Hermione smiled, leaning into him.
"I'm alright, a little sick, but it's great watching you and Rose" She laughed and George nodded, as they both watched their daughter over with Ginny. She was sitting in a chair, swinging her legs while she ate a cookie.
"Merlin, I love her" George whispered and Hermione sucked in a breath as warmth filled her body. She tugged George into a tight hug.
"Me too darling" She whispered. They watched Fred twirl his bride around the dance floor. Angelina let out a tinkling laugh, her white dress flowing around her as she spun.
"I really am happy for them" Hermione said and George nodded with a smile. He released her, with a kiss, before heading over to his daughter for another dance. Hermione felt the baby press on her bladder, and started towards the house. The Burrow was decked out in decorations, perfect as always. Molly was happy to plan wedding after wedding in the house. Harry and Ginny's had been beautiful, just like this one, even if Ginny had been slightly pregnant then. They had two boys, and a girl on the way now. Hermione teased Ginny quite often about how they seemed to shag like rabbits. Ginny would chuckle and say that there was never enough Weasley's let alone Potters in the world. Hermione entered the house, heading towards the only bathroom. She passed several of her friends along the way, whispering hellos as she went.
She exited the house after finishing, following the lit path towards the tent. It was getting dark, but the party only seemed to get more lively. She smiled, knowing that they'd have to take Rose home to bed soon. As she reached the entrance of the tent, her eyes caught a shadow, under the willow tree she had used to think was her and George's. She recognized him immediately, even though it had been many years since she had seen him last. She stopped in her tracks, sucking in a breath. Hesitating, she headed towards the big tree. He stepped back slightly, as she got closer to him.
"Ron…?" She asked, holding her stomach protectively. She did it whenever she was uncomfortable, a mother's instinct she liked to think. He didn't say anything for a moment.
"Hey 'Mione" He said quietly. He stuffed his hands into his pockets awkwardly.
"What are you doing here?" She hissed, narrowing her eyes at him. He looked surprised by her anger. He shrugged with a small sigh.
"I don't really know… I heard it was Fred's wedding from some people at work, and I guess I wanted to see you, see everyone" He said, his face tight with emotion. Hermione shook her head quickly.
"You left Ron, and you never came back. I don't think you are very welcome here" She put her hands on her hips, and he noticed the roundness of her stomach. He gasped slightly, realizing what it meant.
"You're…" He trailed off, not saying the word.
"For Merlin's sake Ronald, I am! I also have a daughter, she's five almost six" She hissed, tears lining her eyes.
"You wouldn't know that though would you? Because you took the coward's way out" She threw at him and he flinched. His shoulders sagged.
"I guess I should have realized it would happen, you love him" He whispered bitterly. Hermione let out a harsh laugh.
"Ron I hate to be so unkind, but we aren't friends anymore are we? I won't tell anyone you were here and you can continue to live the life you chose. Estranged from your family" Hermione said, turning and walking back towards the party. When she looked back, he was gone. She sat down, covering her face with her hands, letting out a sad sob. A hand rested on her shoulder. She looked up, meeting the soft blue eyes of Fred. After Ron had disappeared he had become one of he closest friends, aside from George. They had become a new trio, and Hermione had been so grateful.
"What's wrong? Did we run out of crescent rolls?" He teased and she glared, smacking the back of his head. He chuckled but then looked at her with concern.
"It's nothing Fred, I think we will be heading home soon actually, we've got to get Rose to bed" She gave him a watery smile. He nodded, glancing around the large group of people.
"You keep sitting, I'll go find your good for nothing husband" He ducked as Hermione swung to slap him again. She heard him laugh as he disappeared into the crowd. He reammerged with his twin, who was holding a sleeping Rose in his arms. They said their goodbyes, heading back to their home.
Hermione watched from the doorway, as George tucked his daughter into bed. He placed a sweet kiss on her forehead, whispered goodnight, and slipped out of the room. He took Hermione's outstretched hand, following her into their room. They undressed, George taking his wife in his arms. She giggled as he dragged his fingers across her skin. As they slid into bed, Hermione finally spoke.
"Ron was there today" She whispered into the darkness. She saw George shift to meet her eyes.
"Was he?" His voice was rough, and she could tell he wasn't pleased.
"He said he wanted to see how everyone was. I told him he wasn't welcome and that he was a coward" She chuckled and George's eyes widened in surprise.
"Really? There's that Gryffindor courage" He teased and she blushed. He leaned over and kissed her.
"He was surprised to see I was pregnant, and even more so when I told him we have a daughter" She said when they broke away. George rolled his eyes.
"Let's not talk about my brother while we both are indecent like this" He teased, kissing her again, longer this time. His hands travelled down and hers tangled in her hair.
"George, I love you, forever and ever" She whispered, moaning softly. He slipped down, further towards her legs.
"Forever, darling" He whispered, before dipping his head down. She let out a loud moan, and the night followed as it usually did, love filling their room and their hearts.
