Astoria nibbled on a cauldron cake, while she roamed through the files on the center table. It had to be here somewhere, but she couldn't find it in the mess she had made.

She grunted and sighed, and it was driving Draco crazy. If only she had a system, she wouldn't lose everything all the time.

"Is this what you are looking for?" he asked, bending down and pulling a piece of parchment from under her butt.

"Oh, thank you, darling." She looked unfazed, like misplacing an important document was just a little bump in the road and something that happened all the time. And with her, it did.

"I think I'm going to go to bed. Are you going to take much longer?" Draco got up from the couch and stretched, looking at the clock on the wall. Nearly one in the morning.

"It will probably be a couple more hours. I think I have the right angle now, and I can make a compelling case with this evidence here. If I go to bed now, I'll only forget everything."

Draco stared at his wife sitting cross-legged on the floor. She had a water bottle next to her, an empty cup of tea, a half eaten cauldron cake and a bowl of salad on the table. He knew that meant she would be down here way past the couple hours she had just told him.

"Don't you think it's best to go to the office to do that? Sit on a chair, and work on a proper desk?" he tried. Her posture was less than ideal, and he was worried that Astoria would get back pain prematurely.

"Oh, no. I have way more space here."

"Alright, then. Good night, my love." Draco kissed her head.

"Good night, my dear."

Draco woke up and felt around the bed groggily. No sign of Astoria yet. He grunted and rubbed his eyes, trying to see the time. It was a quarter to seven in the morning, for Merlin's sake. He decided to go get water before heading to the bathroom so he could check on her on his way to the kitchen.

He smiled to himself as he reached the bottom of the stairs and caught a glimpse of her. Her head was resting against the seat of the couch, and she looked peaceful in her sleep. He got closer to her, and saw that the cake was gone, but the salad was still there where she left it.

"Trust you to forget about dinner, but go all in for dessert," Draco whispered, not wanting to wake her up.

He took the dirty dishes to the kitchen, but didn't touch any of her papers. Merlin knew how mad Astoria would be with him if he did that.

Draco slipped an arm under her legs and the other under her arms, picking her up from the floor. She rested her head on his chest immediately, making him smile. He carried her up the stairs, and delicately laid her on the bed.

"Draco?" she called, half awake.

"Yes?"

"Five more minutes."

Draco snorted a laugh. "Sure. You can have five more minutes."

He tucked the covers tightly around her, and kissed her temple.

"Sleep tight, angel," he said, before leaving the room to go about his business.
