"Liv," Elliot said in between mouthfuls of his takeout as he sat in the couch with Olivia. She had put on one of her rom-coms and had settled on the couch with a glass of red wine when he had showed up on her doorstep with a bag of food. How could she say no to him when he had brought food with?

She turned to him, a lock of her chestnut waves falling from her loose ponytail. "Huh?"

"Nevermind." He smiled at her, a slight rosy shade appearing on his cheeks, though not very noticeable from a distance.

She shook her head, a few more pieces of hair falling from her ponytail. "Come on, tell me, El."

"No, it's nothing." He glanced back down at his food, his smile never leaving his face.

A sigh escaped Olivia's partially parted lips as she stood up from the couch. "Fine. I'm going to the bathroom, I'll be back."

While she was out of the room, Elliot walked over to her CD rack and began filing through the collection that was displayed in her living room. Finally, he settled upon her burned CD of her favorite Elvis hits, muted the TV, and cranked up the volume of the stereo up just enough that it could be heard clearly from the open space in what was supposed to be her dining room.

"Elliot?" Olivia called as she made her way back down the hallway, confused about the sudden noise. When she reached the end of the hall and saw him standing in the open space, she couldn't help but chuckle, "What are you doing?"

In response, his face turned up in his classic Stabler, shit-eating grin. "Let's dance." He extended his left arm, his palm facing up for her to grab.

Slowly, and confusedly, she stepped towards him and laid her delicate hand on top of his rough, calloused hand.

By the time he had his hand on the small of her back, and she had hers on his arm, the next song began to play.

Wise men say

Only fools rush in

"So," Olivia asked as he spun her in a circle, "Why'd you want to dance?"

He looked her in the eyes, a certain sparkle shimmering in them. "You always talk about how you wish more people would take you dancing." They continued to step to the beat of the music, his hand brushing against the skin that was left exposed by her tank top rising.

Goosebumps erupted on the surface of her skin and a rosy hue started to make its way to her cheeks. In an attempt to hide her blushing from him, she looked down at her feet and tried to make it look purposeful.

Would it be a sin

If I can't help falling in love with you

The heat from his hand was removed from her back, and as they continued swaying, he brushed the hair from her face, his hand lingered on her face and followed her jawline down until he reached her chin. He lightly pulled her face up from the floor and gave her a gentle smile, "No need to hide from me, Liv."

Some things are meant to be

His thumb lovingly caressed her cheek, her rosy hue brightening to a much more visible scarlet glow.

Take my hand

Take my whole life, too

Soon, his hand was back on the small of her back and she realised that they were slowly inching closer to each other, their steps shrinking with each beat.

"For I can't help," Elliot's husky voice began to whisper along with the sing as their foreheads touched, "falling in love with you."

Like a river flows

Surely to the sea

Darling, so it goes

"Some things are meant to be," they whispered in unison, their lips hovering above one another's. Their clasped hands loosened their grip, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. He let his right hand join his left on her lower back as they finally let their lips touch.

For I can't help falling in love with you.
