If there's one thing everyone at Seido knew, it's that Room 5 consisted of three kinds of people: the demon, the milder demon disguised as sunshine incarnate and Asada. Kuramochi being some sort of demon senpai was already common knowledge at this point. Though very caring towards people he deems close friends, especially to the two he considered his baby brothers, Eijun and Asada, he was also a wrestling crazed asshole with the face to match and the cackling of a hyena to compliment.

And somehow, Kuramochi had managed to turn Sawamura Eijun, sunshine incarnate, to the dark side, though it was only evident to those with observant eyes.

It was hidden for the first few months but, over time, Sawamura Eijun had, likewise, developed a slight sadistic nature, influenced by his senpai slash older brother figure, Kuramochi, and self-proclaimed oniisan, Ryousuke.

A few months ago, these three had been notorious for their pranks and ability to just. Know. Things.

Kuramochi had an uncanny ability to find out about things while Ssawamura had the face of an angel with the personality to match. Ergo, he was trusted with a lot of secrets, not to mention his close friendships with the girls in his class, who were, also, gossip-crazed individuals.

The three, with an honorary member of Haruichi, were practically a blackmail trio (and trainee). The demon, Ryousuke, the enforcer, Mochi, the informant, Eijun and Haruichi, the fledgeling demon.

However, the two demon senpais, Eijun and Kuramochi, by some miracle, had yet to convert their newest angelic kouhai, Asada, into the amazing world of pranks.

At least, that's what the team thought.

See, Asada, like Eijun, had the personality and looks of an angel. He was practically a little newborn deer, unsure of his place in the team and also very timid. Meaning, everything he ded and said sounded and felt genuine.

What the team didn't know was that Asada also regularly played with his senpais, he just didn't have the right opportunity to shine and be noticed yet.

So, when Sawamura had been invited by Kuramochi's mom for a three-day sleepover at the hotel she was currently at because she wanted to meet her son's loud roommate that always spoke with her for at least 5 minutes during her weekly phone call with her son that she has grown to be quite fond of him, the three had stared at each other for a long minute until the implications of the situation clicked then promptly burst out laughing.

The next few minutes was a flurry of packing and filing for leave at the dorm. Both Eijun and Mochi had promised the boss that they'd arrive in time for practice in the mornings and leave for the hotel right after evening practice around the time the students who didn't dorm do.

Within an hour, they were able to shove all the clothes and books they needed into their bags and got ready to call for a cab to the hotel.

Of course, not before telling Asada not to tell anyone about their absence for the next few days, recognizing the opportunity for Asada to just cause chaos.

("If they ask, just tell them some made-up answers."

"How do you want me to tell them, senpai?"

Grinning positively feral, Youichi cackled and reached out to pat Asada's shoulder, "We'll leave it up to you."

Nodding slowly, Asada hesitantly agreed. "Alright, senpai, leave it to me.")

The first time someone asked, it wasn't anything serious.

Zono peeked into the room, asking, quite loudly, where Kuramochi was for 'vice-captain purposes' whatever that meant. So, keeping as straight a face as possible, Asada merely looked up from his math homework and said, "He's out practicing, senpai."

But, it doesn't go as well as it should have.

Why?

Because it was currently 3 hours after practice.

Ergo, he messed up.

Tilting his head, Zono asked, "3 hours after practice?", which okay, Asada should have thought about that detail before answering because no matter how hyper Sawamura-senpai was, Kuramochi-senpai was always there to reign him in.

Obviously, they wouldn't be practicing 3 whole hours after practice.

Much less now, when they were so close to the summer tournament and training camp.

Alas, Asada laments, he already spoke the words.

So, the best possible thing he could do in this situation was… fake it till he made it and take it like a man.

Pretending to scratch out a 'mistake' on his 'homework' that was really just a blank piece of paper he was drawing baseballs on, Asada replied, as nonchalantly as possible, "Yeah, Kuramochi-senpai was working on Sawamura-senpai's form. They didn't really start right after practice, too. Maybe, they're around?"

Giving a look of consideration to the first year before obviously deciding that Asada couldn't possibly lie for shit, Zono decided to believe in his kouhai and laughed boisterously, thrilled to have such dedicated teammates on his team, "They're really going full power, huh? Good for them!"

Laughing nervously, Asada looked at his senpai with a mixture of well-disguised guilt and panic and said, "What can I say, they're very dedicated… to the… sport."

Eyeing his angelic-looking kouhai, Zono vaugely wondered how this little angel could possible handle being in the same room as Sawamura Eijun and Kuramochi Youichi. Oh well. Small favors, small favors.

Choosing to turn around, Zono closes the door behind him, deciding not to look a gift horse in the mouth. As he leaves, he misses the look of mirth, relief and mild laughter in Asada's eyes and the message Asada sends on his phone.

Good job asada-chan

The next incident was mildly worse.

Actually.

It was worse. Period.

Given that it was Kominato Haruichi and Asada had to use the entirety of his courage and manhood to even try and lie to that specific senpai's face.

Casually opening the door, Haruichi had walked in, looked around and asked, "Where's Yo-san and Eijun-kun, Asada-kun?"

Gulping nervously, Asada tried to hide his fidgeting fingers and replied quickly, turning around to sort his notebooks on the shelf to give him something to do, knowing well that he wouldn't be able to lie straight to Haruichi's pink all-knowing eyes, "I haven't seen them since practice, senpai. Maybe they're having a late dinner?"

Which. Was true. Technically. Asada really didn't see them after practice given that they left for the hotel directly after and the hotels normally serve dinner right about now. So…

It's not lying just… failing to mention something. Right? Right?!

And as Asada methodically stacked and fixed his notebooks, he nearly got away with it.

Except he was facing Ryousuke's protegee and little brother, the all-knowing Haruone.

He was doomed to loose since the beginning.

See, Kominato Haruichi was a lot of things, one of which was also a more disguised Ryou-san who Asada had met a few months ago and had also, subsequently, simultaneously terrified and awed the first year.

Looking around the room, Haruichi noticed the lack of wrinkles on both Eijun's and Yo-san's beds and their weirdly neat desks. Knowing those two were far from neat, Haruichi lightly said in reply to Asada, "You need to work on your excuses, Asada-kun. They're not here, aren't they?"

Ah, as expected of a Kominato. Sending him a terrified glance, Asada tried to think of a different excuse that was more plausible but ultimately falls short. Deciding that he'd rather live than die, Asada chooses to come clean about the situation. "They're at a three day-long sleepover and wanted me to keep quiet about it. Said it'd be fun."

Thinking it over, Haruichi slowly nodded, knowing those two assholes, they'd revel in the chaos that their little angel kouhai would bring. So, instead he pokes and prods at the two bunk beds until it looked a little more lived-in, took a few books off the shelves and unfolded their towels until it looked like a slightly messy heap. Turning to leave, Haruchi waves a nonchalant goodbye to the first year and said, "Tell me how you do for the rest of the week, Asada-kun.", before closing the door.

(Of course, Asada didn't notice Haruichi staring directly at the phone that was secretly recording a video.

This doesn't mean that Eijun and Mochi didn't though.

When the video finally arrives, both boys know that they'd be in for it when they return the following morning and briefly contemplates transferring to Yakushi High.)

Nothing, Haruichi-sama.

I totally agree with you.

Miyuki Kazuya had been feeling off the past few days and it wasn't until a few minutes ago that he realized that it was because Sawamura 'Please catch for me' Eijun hadn't come to bug him for post-practice catching for a few days and Kuramochi hadn't crashed his room at all.

At first, it was nice. A welcome relief from the constant stress those two brought, if he were honest.

Now though, three days in, Miyuki felt a little freaked out and maybe a little lonely (just a little, just a little, not that he'd ever admit it, thank you very much).

It was weird, not seeing them around. It felt oddly quiet which, though at first welcomed, had started to become eerie, like something felt missing without them.

So, he had trudged towards their room and opened the door, prepared to say a mock insult or two, only to be met with the somber face of Asada, illuminated only by a lamp on his table, studying. "Hey, Asada, where are Mochi and Bakamura?"

And as Asada looked at his senpai, the team's captain, at what would approximately be 12 A.M., asking that question, like so many others the past few days, at a time that was way too late for him to pass the normal excuses he used as acceptable, he inevitably panics and says the first thing that comes to his mind.

So, Miyuki Kazuya, captain, clean-up and catcher, stared at the lanky teenager whose glasses shone an eerie white, muttering to himself, as if crazed, and looked up at him and, with utmost seriousness and tired, dead and sunken eyes, said, "They're dead, Miyuki-senpai."

Though he would deny it for the rest of his life, Miyuki Kazuya, in all his 17 years of life, has never walked away so fast.

Good job asada-chan

When Miyuki Kazuya wakes up the next morning, lack of sleep evident in his tired posture and deep eyebags, he is greeted with the faces of Sawamura Eijun and Kuramochi Youichi who were alive and well, talking to one Asada Horifumi, all of whom were looking at him and sporting varying degrees of shit-eating grins.

Kazuya took it back. Three days wasn't long enough at all.
