Annabeth was dead. It made logical sense. Gaea had won. But... Why did it hurt so much? She figured it would be quick and easy, like falling asleep. Nope. Pain. Lots and lots of pain.

Then, she must've passed out from the pain, or something, because she started dreaming:

The fates were in front of her, talking about something:

"Did you say this should happen?". One of them said.

"No, did y

ou?".

"Why would I do that?".

"Someone said this should happen."

"I feel bad, for the poor demigods, but they cannot escape their destiny."

They all agreed on something, and Annabeth woke up.

"Who are you?". A male voice asked. She tried to look at him, but her vision was blurry. She rubbed her eyes, and he came into focus. He was about 15, with sandy blonde hair and ragged armor over his t-shirt.

"Who are you?". She countered.

He stared at her, finally, he said: "I'm Luke. Now, who are you?".

She thought for a second. She was... "Annabeth. I'm Annabeth."

He smiled. "I've never met an Annabeth. Granted, I don't know many people, but still, no Annabeth's."

"Okay?".

"If you landed here like the rest of us, you must be one of us. C'mon, I'll take you to Poseidon."

"What?".

Poseidon looked at Annabeth. "Athena's child."

Luke nodded. "Not a goddess."

"What?". Annabeth asked.

"Um, look. What do you remember?".

What did she remember? Easy. "Nothing."

"Yeah, me too. We're demigods. We...appeared here, along with the gods, they remember us. They can't tell us too much though, apparently, that messes with fate. We've found... um, Tyson- he's a cyclops- Thalia- she's a daughter of Zeus-, Artimis-she's a goddess and a couple of other campers. Not much. Apparently we need to kill Mother Earth."

"Okay?".

"You seem pretty tough, and I have a spare knife, if you want it, it's yours."

What was he thinking? Giving a... Annabeth looked down and tried to guess her age. 14 year old a knife? "Um, okay?". She said, taking the dagger.

"Stand here, we need someone to keep watch for more demig-". At that moment, a big guy with a rainbow tattoo fell on his head. Luke pushed him off, he was stronger then he looked. "Ugh. Just... Keep a look out, okay? We'll tell you more when it's... who's the least helpful person? Uh, Connor's turn to watch."

"Okay."

"Is that all you say?".

"Yes."

Luke jogged off in the distance. No memories + lots of confusion = good times. Or bad times. Really, really bad times. Like almost dying when a guy falls ontop of you.

Annabeth rolled out from under him and stood up. She tried to imitate what Luke did:

"What is your name?".

He looked at her. He was about 5'2 and pretty skinny, with sea green eyes and black hair. He wore a white t-shirt and jeans. "Percy."

"Annabeth."

"Where am I?".

"Um, I don't know." She scanned their surroundings. There were trees everywhere. "A forest."

"Gee, thanks, that's so specific."

"Whatever. You are a demigod, Percy."

"What?".

"At least, that's what Luke told me?".

"Luke told you that I'm a demigod?".

"Luke told me that people who fall from the sky are demigods."

"That makes no sense."

"Shut up...". She tried to think of a name for him. His eyes reminded her of the ocean... "Seaweed Brain."
