As soon as the scrimmage ends Jayla stands up with Kamden in her arms and starts heading down the bleachers, trying to get away from Tim and his questions.
She gets a few feet from her moms car when she hears Tim shout her name, "Jayla! Stop, we need to talk."
She speeds up and opens the door to the back seat before carefully placing Kamden in his carrier. She smiles at her sleeping boy before turning around and facing the music.
She sighs and turns, making eye contact with Tim.
"What do you want to talk about Tim?"
He glares at her before saying, "You know what about Jayla. You leave without a word and then you all of a sudden pop back up with a kid, one who looks just like me as a kid. So yeah we got something to talk about."
Jayla looks down in shame but soon realizes that with all the eyes around it would probably be a good idea to take the conversation elsewhere.
She looks at him and says, "Come by the house after you get showered and we'll talk then. There at too many people watching to try and talk this out here."
With that she climbed into the back of her mothers car to wait for her and Julie. Eventually she could see them making their way to the car. As soon as they got into the car she was bombarded with questions from both of them about what Tim had wanted.
She sighed before saying, "You know what he wanted. He wanted to talk. I told him we couldn't do it there with all the prying eyes and ears, for him to come by the house after he had got cleaned up and we would talk then."
Julie looked at her and said, " I'll take Kamden into my room with me if you want me to so you guys can talk uninterrupted."
She shook her head no before saying, " No. Wether I like it or not he is Tims son and he has a right to see him. If things look like they might take a turn for the worse I'll bring him to you."
Julie nodded before looking out the window. They rode the rest of the way to their house in silence. The only sounds were the soft breathing of Kamden and they low music they had playing on the radio.
When they pulled up Jayla jumped out and grabbed Kamdens carrier, careful not to wake him.
Tami looks at her and says, " If you'll grab him and his diaper bag Jules and I'll get the rest of your stuff. When you get inside wait in the living room, we've got a bit of a surprise for you."
She just nods and heads inside. She sits Kamden down on the couch before sitting next to him, just looking at him, wandering how she and Tim made something so beautiful. She is broken out of her thoughts with her father walking through the door carrying one of the bags she brought while her mother and sister have the others.
He dropped her bag and walked up to her and grabbed me in one of his famous hugs. He squeezed me once before releasing me and saying, "Alright, let me see my handsome grandson."
She smiled at the sight of her father holding her son. She knew he wasn't exactly the biggest fan of he getting pregnant at fifteen and by Dillons manwhore at that, but seeing him holding Kamden brought a smile to her face and her heart swell.
Her father looks at her and said, "Your mother and I have a surprise for you. We figured since you've got Kamden now your gonna need a bigger room so we renovated the garage and turned it into a little apartment of sorts for you. It's got a small bathroom and kitchen, and we put all of your stuff and little mans stuff in there. We wanted you to have your own space and not feel like you were crowded staying here in the main house."
She looked at them with tears in her eyes, "You didn't have to do that. I would have gladly stayed in the main house. I didn't want to cause any trouble. I know it must have cost a small fortune to renovate it."
Tami shook her head, "It wasn't too much of a cost sweetheart. Yeah having to expand it and do all the plumbing and wiring to get it ready cost a little bit extra but it's worth it. You and Kamden are worth it."
She just wrapped her arms around both of her parents and said, "Thank you guys. You don't know how much I appreciate it."
Her dad breaks free of her hold careful of Kamden and says, "Alright enough of the lovey doves crap. Let's show you guys your new room."
She grabbed Kamdens carrier and a bag and followed her father while Julie and her mom grabbed another and followed too. She was in awe of it all, her bed and his crib were in the far corner of the room, there was a closet and chest of drawers side by side on the other side. All of Kamdens baby stuff had its own area, then there was a small kitchenette and a small bathroom.
"You'll still have to come to the main house for a shower and I know it's not much but it's your own space."
She looks at her dad and says, "It's perfect and more than enough. I love it thank you guys so much."
Her mom smiles and says, "Your welcome sweetie. We are gonna head back inside and I'm gonna start dinner. Your father and I'll watch Kamden so you can get settled. I'll send Tim in when he gets here."
"The door stays open though, we don't want anymore grandchildren yet."
Jayla just rolled her eyes and got back to unpacking.

About an hour later she had just finished putting all or Kamdens clothes in his little dresser when there was a knock on the door frame.
She turned and looked it was Tim. She nodded at him and said, "Come in, but leave the door open. Dads rule."
He walked in and looked around before sitting on the edge of her bed. He rested his arms on his knees and looked at her and said, "You have a lot of explaining to do."
She sighed before sitting in the rockin tv chair beside the crib and said, "When I found out that I was pregnant I was terrified. I didn't want to lose you and I didn't know what to do. My mom found out first by complete accident and she took me to the doctor. When I knew for sure I was I had a complete breakdown right there in the doctors office. My mom calmed me down and told me that I needed to tell you so we could handle the situation together so she dropped me at yours. That's when I saw you and Tyra together. Then I realized that I had already lost you so it didn't much matter what you thought. I went home and was off to my Aunt Shelley's the next day."
Tim sighed, "Why didn't you stay and tell me? I mean I understand why you ran but I had a right to know you were pregnant. It's my baby too, I deserved to know. I've missed out on so much and I can't ever get that back."
She looked at him, "I know it was selfish of me to run away but I didn't want to do anything that could screw up your life. I love you so much and I just knew that having Kamden in Dillon would screw up your life and you would forget anything to do with football and any chance you had at going to college and maybe school all together to help take care of him. I already screwed up my future I don't want to screw yours up too."
He looked at her and said, "It's a boy?"
"Yeah it's a boy, his name is Kamden Eric Riggins. He was 8lbs even and 21 inches long. He's only three weeks old. I wanted to come back as soon as I had him but was scared that you might not want anything to do with him. I can handle you hating me but not him."
"I don't hate him and I sure as hell don't hate you. I love you both, just promise me you won't leave again. I'm sorry for what happed with Tyra before you left. I know it's not an excuse but I was drunk and lonely and it just happened and I'm not gonna say that I haven't slept around while you were gone but I swear to you the only time I cheated on you while we were together was that one time with Tyra. I know that we can't go back to the way we were but I do wanna try and take it one day at a time."
She smiled at him, "Taking it one day at a time sounds good to me."
They lock eyes and are in their own little world until they hear a throat clear and it's her dad, "He's getting a little fussy I think he's hungry."
She stood up and grabbed him from her dad before turning to Tim and saying, "You wanna hold him while I get his bottle ready?"
He just nods. She hands him over and watches with careful eyes as Tim holds him with experts hands which surprises her. She goes to the kitchenette to make his bottle Turning to look at Tim and Kamden every once in a while. She cant help but notice the adoring look he has on his face whenever he looks at their son and she can't help but think she made the right choice coming back to Dillon.
