Alright readers, here is chapter 2 of this story!
Now I haven't decided on how many chapters are going to be in this story. I will however say that there will be plenty of chapters made for this story, I guarantee you that.
Also, I want to say that I'm not gonna be into how popular this story might get, and how many favorites and followers there are. I'm writing this story because I want to write this story. That's all there is to it.
Now in this chapter, stuff happens in the OR, Andrew gets settled into the Swamp where he's given a surprise prank by Hawkeye and BJ, and the tables will be turned by the end of the chapter. What'll happen with Andrew's first day at the 4077? Find out now!
IN THE O.R; AT THE 4077 - 18:30
After having checked the wounded that had been transported to the unit by chopper and seeing how badly wounded some of the soldiers were, the personnel had them brought into the OR to be treated. Of course, the doctors and nurses had to scrub up before getting started, along with putting on the surgeon uniform; the white mask, headwear, white doctor's robe, and gloves to go with it.
As per Colonel Potter's wishes, all of the doctors treating the wounded were paired up with a nurse to assist them, regardless of whether they dislike the idea (in Winchester's case) or if they love the idea (mostly Hawkeye). The sole exception to all this was the new surgeon, Major Andrew Peterson, who was paired up with Major Margaret Houlihan as Potter proclaimed. If he had such excellent chemistry with the head nurse, the colonel was considering making it permanent for the two majors. Frankly, Andrew had no objections to it, as he wouldn't get a say in any of it. Not that it was a problem anyway, since Andrew liked the concept.
Currently, the doctors and nurses were in the OR treating the wounded and doing their duties. It was as noisy as it would get in any operating room, as the doctors were talking to their assigned nurses to assist them with giving the correct tools to get the job done. Andrew, on the other hand, remained absolutely quiet through his procedure. Margaret noticed that he wasn't trying to strike a conversation, assuming that he's rather shy with being in this new outfit. Furthermore, she decided not to bring it up with him, seeing that it might make tension grow.
By contrast, Winchester was pretty much fed up with the chatter going on, as he was trying to sew up a patient of his, and he had trouble doing it with all this noise.
"Gentlemen, please cease this endless chatter," Charles huffed. "I am trying to sew up this patient's bowel, and I need the utmost silence to do it!
This got everyone to hush up as they glanced towards Winchester. Hawkeye, who was busy trying to extract an artillery particle from his patient's spinal cord, decided to get a word out.
"And so the Big Bad Winchester decides to huff, and puff, and get the last word out of this conversation," the tone of his voice was clearly sarcastic.
"You dare try to make a mockery out of a Winchester?" Charles fired back.
"Oh, pardon me," Hawkeye retorted with a faux-cheerful tone. "I think you're doing a good job of that on your own."
"Preposterous, this is an outrage!" Winchester started to holler.
"Hey Charles," BJ, who was trying to treat a bullet wound from his patient, spoke up. "Why don't you do all of us a favor and shut up?"
"Hmph! I have never been so insulted in all my life," Charles grunted in irritation.
"I agree," Hawkeye ranted. "This whole thing has been an insult! I say we go over to the Peace Talk and berate them for the wounded that keep popping up and call it a day since Winchester decides to get us fired up about it."
"What did you say, Captain Pierce," Winchester glowered.
"People please," Sherman Potter yelled at them to stop. "I'm up to my ankles with trying to put this patient's ankle bone back in place!"
"I must agree," Father Mulcahy, who had been standing on the sideline, spoke up. "This argument has been most unbecoming, especially for the wounded in their desperate time of need."
"Huh, easy for you to say, Padre," Winchester snorted. "How do you think I feel with trying to help this patient with sewing his bowel up, which in this case, requires the utmost silence!?"
Margaret, who had been quiet while helping Andrew with his patient, decided to throw in her comment to the table.
"You know, I think this whole argument is ridiculous," she remarked. "You don't see me complaining about needing silence while dealing with the patient Major Peterson and I are treating."
"Why am I not surprised," Winchester retorted. "At least I'm not paired up with another major that I can't tolerate, unlike you Major Houlihan."
Andrew, who up until that point had been trying to extract a piece of artillery stuck inside the wound of his patient while remaining quiet, was fed up with Winchester's overbearing attitude towards him.
"Alright, that does it. What is the matter with you Winchester?!" Andrew chewed him out. "I haven't even done anything to you! Ever since I got into this outfit, you've done nothing but complain about how I, a major and an equal-mind you, have been sent to stay in this unit! And Major Houlihan is right, this whole argument is absurd! I'm not complaining about this chatter. I'm just minding my own business, and you decide to berate me at every turn!"
"You dare talk back to me, you scoundrel," Winchester did not take kindly to being chewed out by the new major.
"You know what? Why don't you do us a favor and put a sock in it, Winchester," Margaret scolded him.
"Or why don't you take a stroll in the minefield for that matter," Hawkeye added with a retort.
Margaret ignored Hawkeye's comment and continued to chew out Winchester while sticking up for Andrew. "Major Peterson is right! You've done nothing but chastise him when he hasn't done anything to you! You ought to be ashamed of yourself for disrespecting our new major!"
"Why, I'd never," Winchester was about to berate her for that, but was cut off when Sherman Potter intervened.
"You best do what we say and shut that piehole of yours Winchester," the colonel warned him. "Otherwise, you'll be spending the entirety of the war getting bucked in the face by my horse! Comprende!?"
"Face it, Charles," BJ added his own comment. "You'll be doing all of us a favor by zipping that mouth of yours!"
Charles huffed but said nothing more as he continued sewing up his patient. The others took a hint and remained silent. Andrew, having settled down and was no long peeved, did have something that he had to ask, as he turned to the head nurse that he was paired with.
"Hey Major Houlihan," he started, getting her attention. "Is it always this hectic at the 4077?"
"Oh, believe me, Major, you haven't even seen the full side of it yet," Margaret answered his question. "What just took place is only part of what goes on in this M*A*S*H unit."
"I can see that," he replied.
"Trust me, you'll get used to it," she added sincerely.
Andrew nodded as they said nothing more for the remainder of the OR session. Despite what he witnessed so far, he was going to tolerate it for what it's worth. After all, he just needs to get settled into the 4077, and he'll put up with it...
LATER ON, IN THE RESTING AREA OUTSIDE OF OR:
It took quite a bit of time, but the surgeons were finally done with their patients, as they decided to unwind a bit. Colonel Potter was sitting on the seat while taking off his mask, as Hawkeye and BJ decided to join him and getting their surgeon uniforms off.
"Welp, I have to say that that was the most intense amount of surgery that I ever took part in," Potter wiped his forehead with his elbow in exhaustion.
"Tell me about it," Hawkeye droned. "It would have been less intense if not for Major Charles."
"The guy who keeps running his mouth and being the center of the conversation," BJ agreed.
"Let's forget about Winchester for the moment, and focus on our new major," Potter decided to shift focus. "Major Peterson had demonstrated himself to do an outstanding job while in surgery, despite the scorn he was getting from Winchester."
"Yeah, but I don't know if you've noticed, but Andrew had remained quiet throughout the whole ordeal," BJ commented.
"You can take that guy's mouth and not find a whole lot of words if we were to inspect it while in OR," Hawkeye added.
"Perhaps the lad's just shy when working in the operating room," Potter deduced. "Either way, he's still a well-balanced doctor, and it was wise of me to have him paired up with Major Houlihan."
"Those two made quite a pair while treating their patient," BJ remarked honestly.
At that moment, Andrew stepped into the room and joined them, as he was getting himself comfortable after what took place in surgery.
"Well speak of the devil himself," Hawkeye muttered as Andrew stepped into the room.
"Hey guys," Andrew took off his mask and headwear. "I have to admit that I'm glad I got done with the surgery."
"Well Major Peterson, let me say that you did an outstanding job out there," Sherman Potter told him. "I saw parts of it, but what I saw was remarkable. You did excellent today."
"Now, sir, my performance in surgery today was nothing special at all," Andrew said calmly.
"Oh come on! We caught a slight glimpse of your work, and it was great," BJ interjected.
"Okay. But how I feel about it is that while my performance wasn't the worst, it isn't something to run home for either," Andrew carried a heavy modest tone in his stoic voice. "From what I've done, I think my performance was just average. Nothing less. Nothing more."
"And the award for the Most Humble Doctor in Korea goes to Andrew Peterson," Hawkeye got his comment out.
"Look, I appreciate the compliments that you guys are giving me," Andrew admitted. "But the fact is that it's nothing to get all crazy over. I was just doing the right thing, and that's all that matters. No need to make a big discussion out of it."
"Not the way I see it," Potter said. "Peterson, I'm happy to see you display a lot of humility in this, but you deserve this praise, son. And I want you to know that."
"I understand sir. But I feel that some of the other doctors and nurses are far better at this than I am," Andrew confessed as Winchester walked into the room, which he eyed closely. "On the other hand, at least I'm not going to go as far as to brag and make the discussion be directed towards me, like a certain major."
"Yeah Charles," Hawkeye turned his attention to Charles. "You should take a page from Modest Peterson here by not acting like such an egotist in OR."
"Oh come off it. Surely you still aren't upset about that, are you?" Winchester spat out to defense.
"Stay out of this, Winchester," Potter warned him before turning back to face Andrew. "The point is Peterson is that you were a great doctor from what was demonstrated to us. And from the looks of it, Major Houlihan was happy to have been paired with you in the OR!"
"Yeah, even though I don't see myself as anything special with what I've done," Andrew admitted. "I enjoyed working with Houlihan too, sir."
"Well that's excellent news," Potter then revealed. "Because you two had such excellent chemistry, that I'm planning on making your partnership permanent!"
"I see," Andrew rubbed the back of his neck out of flatter. "And I would love to have that...but only if Houlihan is alright with it. I want it to be something that both of us want."
The others were just staring at him, surprised by what he said. On top of being so modest, he was also being very considerate towards the head nurse. He didn't want to have it if the other member of the party was unhappy about it. That seems to mean a lot to the 4077 as a whole.
Before anyone could say anything about it, Margaret decided to enter the room with her mask already off, and she saw that the others already settling down.
"Oh, I didn't think you were all getting comfortable," she exclaimed.
"Houlihan, we were just talking about how you and Peterson did in the operating room," Colonel Potter told her. "We told him that he was an outstanding doctor in OR today!"
"Yeah," Andrew commented. "But then I said that there was nothing special about what I did."
Margaret had thought differently. "Oh don't say that Peterson! You were an outstanding doctor in OR today, and I was delighted with working with you!"
"Well," Andrew was still a little flattered, but he wasn't going to reject that compliment. "I do appreciate it. Thank you."
"Your welcome," the head nurse simply said.
"And there's more," the colonel brought up. "After seeing how well you two did in OR today, I want to make your partnership in OR permanent!"
"Yeah, and I said that I would love to have that," Major Peterson said in a sincere tone. "But only if you don't have a problem with it, Major Houlihan."
"Not at all, major," Margaret beamed with a smile. "As a matter of fact, I loved working with you in OR today. You were considerate, you remained calm, you didn't give me any problems, and you were very cooperative throughout the whole session. So I would love to be permanently paired with you."
Andrew gave her a small smile in response as he shrugged his shoulders and turned to face the C.O. "Well, I guess that settles it. We would love to have that, colonel."
"Excellent," Colonel Potter said. "I can assure you that your stay here will be one you won't regret."
"I hope so too, sir," Andrew admitted.
Suddenly, Corporal Klinger walked into the room, wearing the same uniform everyone else was wearing. The only difference was that instead of the typical headwear, he was wearing a nurse's hat. Andrew took notice of it and assumed that it had something to do with the whole 'getting that Section 8' business.
"Greetings, Major Peterson," Klinger saluted him while announcing. "I am happy to announce to you that your uniforms have been delivered to the Swamp where you'll be staying!"
"That's excellent news Klinger," Andrew said. "So I guess that since I'm done with OR, I should go and put it on, and then get Radar to get my suitcases into the Swamp so I can get situated."
"I think you should do that," the colonel encouraged.
"Well, if you all can excuse me, I'm gonna get situated in my outfit and my sleeping quarters," Andrew headed out of there and went outside. "Hey, Radar! Can you help with getting my suitcases down at the Swamp after I put on my outfit!?"
In a matter of minutes, he left, leaving the doctors and head nurse in the resting room.
"Well, if you doctors will excuse me, I should get myself freshened up." Margaret decided to leave too, leaving Klinger, Winchester, Potter, Hawkeye, and BJ in the room.
"Well, that guy was one humble person," BJ remarked.
"Wait, Major Peterson was that modest?" Klinger questioned.
"Yes, Klinger. You should have seen him when we were congratulating him for his performance," the colonel said.
"He didn't seem so down to earth when he was chewing me out," Winchester retorted.
"If I wanted any comments from the peanut gallery, I would have asked," Potter shot back.
"In any case, I think the new major needs to be broken in a little, right?" Hawkeye wondered.
"You would think correct Pierce," Colonel Potter said. "So I want all of us to take it easy on him. That means no practical jokes from Hawkeye and BJ and no guff from Winchester!"
"I wish you told me that earlier before Hawkeye and I left a surprise for him in the Swamp," BJ told him.
"Yeah, we decided to give him a welcome to our Swamp in the form of two pranks," Hawkeye revealed shamelessly.
"Oh boy..." Potter shook his head at that revelation.
It was going to be a long experience for the new major to get used to...
DOWN AT THE SWAMP:
Andrew had already seen the inside of the Swamp when he went to get his new uniform to put on. It seemed spacious enough, as there were four beds. He also found the still that Hawkeye was referring to. He paid no heed or mind to it as he got his uniform and changed into it. As of now, Andrew was wearing the standard uniform that other male personnel were wearing; the button-up overshirt, pants, boots, and a simple cap that was all army green, and underneath his overshirt was a plain barf green t-shirt.
Once he was in his new outfit, he had gotten assistance from Radar and had his four suitcases escorted straight to the Swamp. He was relieved that he was able to get them there in one trip.
"Well, that just about does it," Andrew placed the two suitcases next to the bed that he was going to be sleeping in in the bottom right corner of the tent. "Hey, thanks for helping me with getting the suitcases in here, Radar."
"It was no trouble, sir," Radar exclaimed, putting the two suitcases next to the ones that Andrew put down.
"Now I just need to get myself situated with all my stuff put into a proper position in this side of the Swamp," Andrew remarked.
Radar nodded at that, seeing that he had nothing else to say at the moment.
At that moment, Hawkeye and BJ made their way into the Swamp to see that Andrew got his suitcases to his side of the tent.
"Well, looks like our new neighbor has gotten his stuff into his side of the Swamp," BJ remarked.
"Yeah," Andrew sighed. "I just have to get my stuff set up and whatnot."
"Well don't mind us," Hawkeye told him. "Continue doing what you need to."
"Right..." Andrew shook his head as he took a seat on his bed to open up the first suitcase.
Unfortunately, as soon as he sat down, a farting noise was heard on the spot that he sat on. This instantly triggered Hawkeye and BJ to burst out laughing. Andrew was embarrassed as he got up and saw the culprit behind it.
A whoopee cushion. A real classic.
Andrew's expression went from embarrassed to annoyed. He combined this and the fact that two of his new roommates were laughing together, and he realized that they set this up for him.
"Oh haha, very funny," Andrew laughed sarcastically as he tossed the whoopee cushion to the side. He then went to grab the pillow he was going to be using, but once he picked it up, he felt something was inside of it.
He stuck his hand into the pillow sheet and pulled out something that was wedged inside of it. Once he looked at the object, he saw that it was a rubber toy rat.
The most he did was flinch at the sight of it, but nothing else. He could hear Hawkeye and BJ laughing even louder than they were before. They must have been responsible for this prank too.
"Real mature, guys," he grumbled sarcastically, pinching the bridge of his nose as he tossed the fake rat aside and put the pillow back where it was before.
Radar saw both pranks being pulled on Andrew, along with Hawkeye and BJ laughing their heads off. He wasn't really impressed.
"Gee whiz guys," he commented. "Why did you have to do that?"
"Oh come on, Radar," Hawkeye said. "It was all in good fun."
"Yeah, but why Andrew," the company clerk brought up. "We are supposed to help with breaking him into the 4077."
"Relax Radar," BJ insisted. "It's just a harmless prank. Nothing bad came out of it."
Regardless of that, Radar could only shake his head at this.
"The two of you are impossible sometimes," he muttered. "I gotta go fill out the requisition forms for tomorrow. I'll see you guys later."
After saying that, Radar left the Swamp and headed back to the working area next to Colonel Potter's office. As soon as he was gone, BJ and Hawkeye had ceased laughing entirely and were bushed.
"Well, I have to say that I'm beat," BJ stretched his arms. "Today has been a long and busy day."
"Yeah," Hawkeye agreed. "Tell ya what, let's head to the officer's club and have a couple of drinks before settling down for the night."
"Sounds like a plan Hawkeye," BJ turned to face Andrew. "Hey Andrew, care to join us in a few drinks?"
"We're buying some drinks on the house," Hawkeye added ecstatically.
"Uh no thanks," Andrew declined, opening the first suitcase. "If you two wouldn't mind, I would like to set up the rest of my stuff in my side of the Swamp, and then spend some time alone."
Hawkeye and BJ exchanged looks at this before going along with it.
"Suit yourself," BJ shrugged. "Come on Hawk, let's go."
"Yeah, no need to try to drag the lone wolf out of his cave, Beej," Hawkeye said. "Let's get out of here."
Without another word, the two captains left the Swamp to head straight for the officer's club. This left Andrew alone for the time being, as Winchester hasn't been back yet. Not that it was a problem.
Andrew started to set up his stuff as he was thinking about what transpired today. He came to Korea, got to the 4077, got introduced to the main crew, perform surgery in the OR, and now he was in his uniform while setting things up.
He thought back to the people that he met in this unit, and how diverse it seemed. From the looks of it, Radar and Klinger seem to be the only official friends he has in this unit at this moment, as he was debating on how to feel about the rest of the people he met here, although he wouldn't mind striking a friendship with the head nurse, Margaret Houlihan.
She seemed to be willing for such a thing, considering how she sided with him in OR today. He truly appreciated what she did. Plus she was an attractive woman, what with her blonde hair, her petite-looking body, and those gorgeous-looking hot lips...
Andrew started to shake the image that was forming in his head. The point is that a friendship with her was very likely. And there would be absolutely no complaints about it.
As he emptied his briefcases, he took a glance at the whoopee cushion and fake rubber rat that were on the floor. Suddenly, he got an idea. If those two felt the need to set those pranks on him when he first showed up, then he was more than willing to return the favor. And by that, he would give them a taste of their own medicine.
From there, he decided to put it into full effect right after he emptied his luggage...
AT THE OFFICER'S CLUB:
The officer's club didn't seem too different from any other bar. There was a jukebox, some spare tables, and some other stuff too, but aside from that, there was nothing else that set it apart.
Entering the officer's club were Hawkeye and BJ, as they were planning to go in there. They wasted no time in approaching the counter where they would sit to get their drinks. They took their seats and got the attention of Igor; the person who usually runs the place and hands out the drinks.
"Hey Igor," Hawkeye called out. "Get us a couple of drinks, on the house!"
"Got it sirs," Igor obliged as he got two cups and two bottles. "What's the occasion?"
"Oh no occasion," BJ told him. "Just want to have a couple of drinks before settling down for the night."
"Alright," Igor didn't press into the matter as he poured the drinks from the bottles into the cups.
"Hey, by the way, did you hear about the new major that is staying in our unit?" Hawkeye asked.
"Uh, no," Igor was unsure of this. "Who is he?"
"His name is Andrew Peterson, and he just came in today," BJ explained.
"Ah, gotcha," Igor didn't seem interested as he wiped down parts of the counter that weren't occupied.
Suddenly, Hawkeye started snickering again at what happened at the Swamp just before he and BJ headed to the officer's club.
"Eh heh heh heh, I still can't get over it."
"Can't get over what?" Igor gave him a curious look.
"Heh heh, just before we got here, we had set up two pranks in the Swamp," the chief surgeon explained, drinking his cup of alcohol. "And get this? We set them up for the new major staying with us!"
"Really? What kind of pranks?"
"Oh just the pranks that we'd get a kick out of seeing him fall for," Hawkeye found himself laughing again. "Beej and I set up both individually."
"I set up the whoopee cushion on the spot he sat on," BJ confessed.
"And I stuffed a rubber fake rat into his pillowcase," Hawkeye added. "It was worth seeing the reaction on his face. We managed to pull them off on Major Andrew Peterson!"
The two captains started laughing again while drinking their cups, as Igor decided to resume what he was doing. Hawkeye and BJ were getting a good kick over a couple of drinks.
But there was a problem. They had no idea that Margaret Houlihan, who was in her casual black sweatshirt, was sitting at one of the tables alone, and she had heard everything that those two delinquents just did. And she was not impressed by the juvenile stunt that they pulled on Major Peterson. With her eyebrows furrowing, she decided to speak up.
"How dare you," she sneered, getting their attention.
"Hey, Margaret Houlihan. Fancy running into you here," Hawkeye said, acting as nothing had occurred.
"Don't you give me that routine, mister," she snapped. "How dare you two set up your typical juvenile pranks on our new major!"
"Whoa, take it easy Margaret," BJ held his hands up. "It was just a harmless practical joke. No harm done!"
"That's not the point, Hunnicut," Margaret spat. "Knowing full well that we have to help break him into our outfit, you two goof-offs just had to pull off your usual stunts on him, and risk him getting uncomfortable in our M*A*S*H unit!"
"Whoa, getting a little touchy, aren't we," Hawkeye teased, knowing full well how she'll react.
"I can't believe you two," she yelled, raising her arms out. "Here we are trying to make Major Peterson feel comfortable in this unit, and you two are acting like it's a practical joke!"
Not wanting to deal with them for another moment, Margaret stormed out of the officer's club and headed back to her tent. Hawkeye and BJ were a little taken aback by that outburst, not knowing what they did to set her off.
"What do you suppose that was all about," BJ wondered.
Hawkeye shrugged his shoulders as a result. "I guess she's been a little sensitive since Major Peterson showed up into our outfit. She'll get over it."
"Yeah," the other captain went with that excuse.
Then they went back to drinking their drinks like nothing had happened, as they did this for a bit before returning to the Swamp...
LATER ON THAT NIGHT - THE SWAMP:
The two captains were just about done with the officer's club, as they opened the door to the Swamp and made their way in.
"Well Hawk, I'm just about bushed."
"Yeah Beej," they saw that Andrew's side of the Swamp was set up, with the blue blanket, a retro analog clock that was set to the time zone of South Korea, and a lamp to go with it. "Well, what do you know? Our new Major has gotten comfy."
Andrew was lying on his bed, reading a magazine that he brought with him that hid his face and acting like he wasn't up to something.
"Yeah, I think I'm gonna turn in for the night," BJ headed over to his bed which he sat on.
Just then, he found himself sitting on a whoopee cushion, which he didn't find out about until it was too late when he heard that splat sound. He pulled it out from underneath, as Hawkeye saw what just happened.
"Huh, what's the matter Beej," he queried. "Did one of your pranks backfire on you?"
"I'm telling you, this wasn't me Hawk," the other captain told him.
Hawkeye then went to lie on his bed, when he felt something lumpy in his pillow that made it uncomfortable for his head. Sitting up, he reached his hand into the pillow, and pulled out the culprit, as he was in for a startling surprise.
"WHOA!" He screamed as he pulled out the same fake rat that he put into Andrew's pillow previously, which he then threw out the front door.
As soon as he heard Hawkeye scream, a smirk started to grow on Andrew's face, which was hidden thanks to the magazine he was reading. It was then Hawkeye caught onto what just happened. He saw Andrew reading that magazine, but he could swear that he saw a smirk from behind that magazine.
It was clear exactly what happened. Andrew had set those pranks on him and BJ to get back at them for how they pranked him earlier. In other words, he got even with them.
This is the guy that Margaret defended back at the Officer's Club? As that thought stuck in his head, he decided to make his comment.
"Well played, Major Andrew Peterson. Well played," he had to admit.
"Wait, what are you talking about Hawkeye," BJ asked.
"Andrew set up those pranks on us to get back at us for how we pranked him earlier," the captain exclaimed, having figured it out.
"Ah, now I get it," BJ got what he was saying.
Meanwhile, Andrew quickly took a brief glimpse from his magazine to see how it turned out.
"So, did you two get my surprise," he asked softly.
"Oh yeah. Yeah," Hawkeye said. "Yeah, we get the joke."
"Yeah, I guess the joke's on us," BJ commented.
"So now we're even," he told them as he put down his magazine and turned off his lamp. "Now that that's all taken care of, I'd like to get some sleep, if you two don't mind. And I have no idea when Major Winchester is coming back, so I'm gonna catch some z's."
"Oh sure," Hawkeye retorted. "We were just going to go to sleep anyway."
"Yeah, by all means, get some rest," BJ exclaimed. "We're all bushed and had a busy day today. So goodnight."
"Yeah. Goodnight BJ," Hawkeye yawned. "And goodnight Major Andrew."
"Right, goodnight," Andrew murmured before going to sleep, with the two captains following afterwards.
None of them knew what was keeping Winchester, but it wasn't their problem. He was going to be back eventually. There was no telling when. But in the meantime, the two captains and new major could take advantage of it by getting some sleep. For Major Peterson, today was a rather crazy day overall. And tomorrow was probably going to be just as hectic until he got broken into the unit.
Oh, if only he'd know what was in store for him...
END OF CHAPTER 2...
Well, that's it for this chapter. I hope this story is coming along well so far.
Yeah, as this chapter shows, Major Winchester really shows distaste for the new major, even after Andrew rightfully called him out on it. He'll get over it later in the story. I can promise you that.
One other thing, don't expect the OR to be shown too often in this story since it focuses on the developing characterization of the new major and him fitting into the 4077. Just a heads up on that part.
Anyway, for the next chapter, Andrew gets woken up in the middle of the night by a record player playing opera records, some more crazy stuff happens, Klinger tries another Section 8 Gimmick with Sherman Potter, and some other stuff will take place. How will this all go? Find out next time!
Just like before, you can leave constructive criticism if you are polite with it, or you can leave a positive review, only if you feel like it.
Otherwise, that's all for now! So until next time, hope you look forward to future chapters, and with that said and done, thanks for reading!
