Claires POV*

Me and Myrnin worked together all day, I had ruined my outfit but I really didn't care. I kept working and decided to change later. There were a lot of points where Myrnin had to stop and explain something I know I should already know but he didn't mind. He's kind like that! The day before I left Morganville, we had made the borders of the town self sufficient, and the first time back in the lab, were working on them again! It had a certain elegance to it. We had decided to take a break from all the hands on work and look at how Myrnin made that elixir. I was nervous that he would be disappointed that I had forgotten so much, but my keenness to learn out-ruled that fear.

Myrnin sat me on the lab table and showed me exactly how he made it and the science behind it. "First of all, you need to understand what it is in essence. It is practically an extensively powerful suncream that also works to prevent any form of radiation from the sun, not only its UV rays. It also lasts forever opposed to suncream which lasts usually for a day. The main ingredients are oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate and octinoxate. These are some of the components that bond the creation so closely to suncream, we also, of course, have to include some more ingredients my dear! We take a concoction consisting of 46% goats blood mixed with 21% deer blood and 33% llama saliva and carefully add it to the chemicals. Then we add in some blitzed deer brains and a single banana."

I blinked at him in confusion. Everything else, I could somewhat understand but was this man seriously going to put a banana in this mixture? Is he being serious? Oh wait no, yep, yes he is seriously putting a banana in, wow. Ok then.

I continued to watch and learn from him, taking this precious time to soak in any information possible that I missed in my time away. We talked and laughed and joked, it was easily the best day of my life, any day with him was. He was so easy to talk to, always there for me, kind and compassionate, caring and warm. I knew he could easily snap and become a cold blooded killer with no remorse whatsoever, he struggled to hold onto his reality sometimes. Amelie had informed me that nothing had changed in that regard. But i was always comfortable around him, i was always safe. I smiled as I watched him, he had moved back onto the border work and was playing about with the blueprints. I cocked my head to the right as he turned them upside down holding a piece next to it. He was charming and funny, his dress sense certainly could use some work but other than that... he is perfect.

Myrnins POV*

She didn't know I was watching her. My peripheral vision was astounding! I watched as she cocked her head at me, I tended to enjoy being silly on purpose sometimes just to watch her try and figure me out. She was clearly deep in thought and she smiled at me. Her eyes had lost focus and she was evidently thinking, what about? I have no clue. She was beautiful, she always had been. From the day I met her, as she hid behind Amelie and just about got the confidence to come out. How she always used to call me Sir like I was in charge of her. Even if she did take back her job here, we both knew I wouldn't be her superior, I hadn't been for ages even before she left! She was strong and confident and always so incredible. Her mind was truly remarkable! Absolutely dazzling! The way scientific principles could dance through her mind, and she could lock them into her brain without so much as a second thought, she amazed me every day. Especially today, she was clearly concerned about coming back to science after awhile away. I think she was worried I might be disappointed in her! Ha! As if that could ever happen, today she told me she hadn't as much as peeled at an equation in 3 years. Yet she comes in here still 100x smarter than any other person I had ever met. She took everything straight in just like she used to, she asked good questions and listened completely and entirely, and she was never afraid to argue against me if she disagreed with something. And hell, she was right. She had spent 3 entire years away from science and comes back in and on day 1, she corrects me. Incredible. The way her mind worked, her absolute beauty, the way she rolls her eyes at me when I get a little manic, the way she flicks her hair, the way she looks down whenever she smiles at a compliment, she way she stomps her foot down when she's angry with me, the way she always holds her head high when stating her point, the way she does anything. She is perfect.

Third person POV*

The two were gazing into each others eyes, Myrnins stark green in Claires soft blue. Both had regained their focus and were fully aware of the look they shared. Myrnin stood, leaving the tools laid on the ground as he took a step towards her. She didn't break their gaze as he stepped closer once more. Within the next two steps he took, they were so close. She put her arms around his neck, letting her fingers stroke his soft, curly brown hair. He held her waist in his arms. Keeping her close. He bent his head and leaned closer...

BANG

The two turned and stared at the door like a deer caught in headlights. Recognising their positioning, they moved quickly away from one another and Myrnin began to very keenly observe the hammer on the floor as Claire took a sudden deep interest in the marble tabletop.

Amelie and Oliver descended the straits into the lab, Oliver unable to keep the amused look off his face at what they had just interrupted. "Claire," Amelie began, "I apologise, I wasn't aware you were here today." Claires face flushed with embarrassment and her heart sped up. "Uh s-sorry, I-I" She stuttered. "No need to apologise little one, i was going to find you after this visit anyway." Claire tried to calm herself down, now was not the time to freak out. She could think about everything later.
