Claire's POV*

I woke up to the shrill of my phone ringing, I reached my arm out and hit my bedside table a few times trying to grab the phone and shut it up. I finally got a hold of it and pulled it towards me, I was still laid in bed, yet to open my eyes. I drowsily opened them to see who was calling, it was Eve. Huh, weird. Eve was NEVER awake in the mornings, she much preferred sleeping in as late as possible without being late. I answered and pulled the phone to my ear. "Hello?" I spoke sleepily, the word was quickly followed by a yawn. "Claire? Thank God your up! You need to come here quick as you can! Its an emergency CB!" She cried, her voice pitchy and stressed. I felt the fear envelop me as I told her I would be there in a few minutes and hung up the phone.

I leaped out of bed and grabbed whatever clothes were nearest me, a pair of black leggings, a hot pink crop top and a hot pink hoodie. I slipped on some hot pink trainers that were at the foot of my bed and ran a brush through my hair. I grabbed a black backpack that was by my door and threw in my phone, earphones, house keys and car keys. I then slipped it on and bolted out the door, locking it behind me and ran right to the Glass House.

Micheal opened the door, careful not to step into the sunlight and let me in. I walked into the living room where everyone was sat. The only people not here were Amelie, Oliver and Myrnin. Just as that thought crossed my mind, the three stepped through a portal into the room. I put my bag on the floor and sat next to Eve. "What's going on?" Asked Monica. The room was full, there was me, Eve, Micheal, Shane, Monica, Richard, Hannah, Theo, Patience, Miranda, Myrnin, Oliver and Amelie. I waited for someone to answer Monica's question, after all, I was wondering the same thing. "There is a ball that is occurring tonight. Every single human and vampire in Morganville must attend." Amelie said sternly. I was confused, surely a ball meant something positive right? Why was everyone so stressy? Me and Monica seemed to be on the same wavelength today as she asked "Isn't that a good thing?" Amelie sighed lightly, "In normal circumstances it would be, yes. However today we have a visit from none other than Myrnins mentor, a man long thought dead by all. He will be attending tonight, that leaves us little time to sort out anything. So we must work quickly." Thoughts races around my mind. This must be the man that taught Myrnin everything that he knows about science, he must have such incredible stories to tell. I wonder if he would teach me, unlikely I suppose, he is probably a very busy man. I wonder how old he is in vampire years. I wonder how old he is in human years? Is he going to be nice? Will he try and kill anyone? I wonder if- "So each of you must be prepared, Claire! Are you listening?" I looked up to see Amelie staring down at me, "Yes ma'am" She nodded and continued on for another five minutes before shooing us all of to our designated tasks. Eve and Micheal were to decorate the ballroom. Richard and Shane were to decorate outside of founders square. Hannah was to go to every house in Morganville and make sure everyone was ready for the night. Monica was to book a live singer and get everything set up for them. Hey that meant I didn't have to preform for once! Theo had to set up the food and drinks area and book caterers and mixologists. Patience had to go to the bloodbank and take plenty of blood to the ballroom. Miranda was to get flowers and such to decorate the tables. Amelie, Oliver and Myrnin were picking up Gwion upon his arrival and I had to make sure everyone was on task and ready for when Gwion arrived.

About 6 hours had ticked by and almost everything was ready. Most people had completed their jobs and were at their homes getting ready for the ball. Only Eve and Micheal were left, I had stayed and helped them and we were almost done. There was just one table left to sort. Miranda has picked some cute flowers for the tables, a mix of pink roses, large daisys and chrysanthemums. We finished quickly and all raced off home in my car, I had brought the lambo today. I dropped them outside the Glass House and then parked outside mine and ran in. I walked up the stairs and into one of my spare rooms that I had had converted into a walk in wardrobe. I went to my red carpet dresses and chose one, it was a gorgeous ball gown dress. The top was silver had a deep V neckline and was was embellished with glitter and rhinestones and sequins, it was tight at the top and perfectly showed off my curves, at the waist it flowed out and cascaded down to the floor in beautiful blush tones. I was OBSESSED! It was perfect!

I took the dress and placed it on my bed. I then picked out a pair of tall sliver, glitter stilettos that matched the top of the dress perfectly. I placed them by the dress and then grabbed a towel and ran to the bathroom, I had a super fast shower and then sat in my towel as I dried my hair. I then proceeded to curl my hair in gorgeous loose waves and pin half of it up into a bun. I applied my makeup, a soft look with baby pink eyeshadow and pink lips, with big fake lashes of course! I then slipped into some lacey pink underwear and then into the dress. I put the heels on and grabbed a sliver clutch and put my phone, car keys and house keys in. I then walked down the stairs and looked into the mirror in my living room. I was stunning! I smiled at my reflection and then walked out the door, locked it, and hopped into my Lamborghini. I pulled up outside of the Glass House and Eve and Micheal walked out. I picked them up and drove us to the ball. There was music playing and the food smelt amazing. The lighting was gorgeous and warm and the room was buzzing with conversation. It appeared that we were the last people here, aside from Mryrnin and the others. I felt my phone vibrate in my bag and pulled it out, it was a text from Oliver,

"We are on our way with Gwion. Everything needs to be ready."

I sent back a quick reply,

"Everything's ready and everyone's here."

I was content, we had managed to pull all this together in a day, but my calm was soon shattered when Monica ran over to me. She was wearing a pink dress that was skin tight, honestly it looked more trashy than anything I had seen her wear. She looked panicked, that's when she said the words I desperately didn't want to hear, "Claire! I couldn't find anyone to preform, I don't know what to do!" I stared at her for a minute. I knew it would take atleast another 10 minutes before the others got here. I sighed, "First off, that dress is not appropriate, come on, be quick! I ran to the back room with Monica on my heels, I knew a portal was back here. I opened it quickly and pulled Monica into my house. I took her up to the wardrobe room and grabbed a pink ball gown that would still match her makeup but was much nicer for this event. "Take off that one now and put this on!" I said to her, panicked a little for time. She slipped off her old dress and got into this one. It was light pink and had white flower details gently cascading down it. It was strapless and had a sweetheart neckline. She looked really good! I smiled and dragged her back through to the party. We were still in time, thank god! I sighed and said, "I can do the performances tonight if you still can't find anyone, but please try and find someone still!" She nodded at me and ran off back to the main room. I quickly followed, and walked up to the stage. I guess I was preforming tonight after all!
