When Jen returned home, the house was still empty, and because she did not feel up to anything else, she took a quick shower and went to bed.

Sometime during the night, she heard Brad come home, take a shower and climb into bed next to her. She did not want to face him, so she closed her eyes and went back to sleep.

When she woke up the next morning, she could already smell coffee and something that smelled an awful lot like pancakes.

She peeled herself out of bed, and went down to the kitchen, where she found Brad in the kitchen, pan on the oven, spatula in hand.

He had already set the table, cut some fresh fruit and made orange juice and made a can of coffee.

"Wow, what did I do to deserve this?" Jen asked.

"Well, I got today off on short notice and I really felt bad because I abandoned you in the past few weeks..."

Ok, it had been months, she thought, but decided to just look past that.

"... and I am really sorry for that. And to make it up to you, I made you breakfast, and after that we get into the car, drive out to Calabasas for a hike and have a nice dinner somewhere afterwards?"

"Wow, that sounds really nice" she smiled.

He really was trying to better himself, and she had to give him a chance, she thought.

Of course it pained her to break David's heart in the process, but maybe she and Brad would be able get through this after all. And if that happened, she had made a promise to him a few years ago. And she would of course stick to that.

David would surely get over it after some time, and they could be friends again. After all, she had not promised him anything so far.

...

Jen was now lying in bed, cuddled to Brad who was already fast asleep.

They had a really fun day, and enjoyed themselves like they always used to.

Afterwards, they went to dinner at their favorite place and had the chance to talk.

Brad apologized to her again and they came up with a plan on how to spend time together until he would be done with the movie in 3 weeks.

After that, they planned to fly off to Mexico for a few days and relax together.

It all sounded great, and as if this really could work.

When they came home, the had ended up having sex for the first time in... she did not even know since when.

And it was good. It had always been good with them. But somehow, it felt different.

She could not pinpoint what it was. Of course, it maybe had to do with her memories of the night she spend with David, but it also felt as if something with Brad had changed.

She had to think of what Courteney had said, but even if something happened with Angelina, she could not really use that against him, could she? If they both still loved each other, and decided to be together, they both would be kind of even, as bad as that sounded. Things like this could happen. But honestly, she did not want to know, then.

She decided to really try to blend out David for the next weeks and really give this another try.

She thought about giving him a call, but she did not know what to say to him, and he sure would get the message when she just went silent for now.

She knew that was not very nice, but she did not know what to do.

AN: So, we have to work through the Brad thing first, I'm sorry! ;-)
