Suddenly afraid, trying to decide if she was losing her mind from the influx of memories that were not her own, Naru realized the tall scary dude was starting to spin. Why would he spin?
That was the last thought she had before shit really hit the fan, and her.
The Hokage - now known as Cerberus - arrived at the Hyuuga compound in his battle gear and 3-headed-dog mask in a sunshin. ANBU had just started gathering in order to search the compound. Looking at Lion, he ordered, "Contact me if Shikamaru Nara is spotted. Hold off doing anything with him until I arrive. Continue the search, but stay out of sight. Guard the compound." The senior ANBU didn't understand why his Hokage felt the need to do this himself, but considering the mood of the Rokudaime, he refrained from giving him the standard advice that the village leader should not be the one directly responsible for something like this.
Cerberus summoned Pakkun who looked at him impassively. "Yo boss!" He was ordered to report. The ninja pug sat down and scratched at his stomach. "The kid just left Neji-san's place…" Kakashi took off at a run and Pakkun followed beside him. "The pack reported that he looks anxious, and he's alone."
"And Naru?" Cerberus asked.
"Akino was tracking the Nara kid and he saw Naru running away, but he was the first to find that shadow kid, and with your orders, he had to stay back," Pakkun responded.
Kakashi nodded his head once in understanding. "Meet the others and tell them to locate Naru. I'll send a clone to Akino. Naru is not to be attacked." (He ignored the ninken's "duh" in response.) "If she has been harmed, go after whoever has hurt her and then report back to me."
The pug simply said "Hai, Boss," poofing away. He had to inform the pack.
Shikamaru was standing in the street, desperately looking for a way to track Naruto's sister. Finding the evidence of footprints as they headed to a dark area, he took off to follow them. Once in the dark, he got on his hands and knees to follow the footprints further. She's heading west.
He really wished he hadn't had more sake at Neji's! He'd barely had any food today and had way too much to drink. The very brief run and plowing into the grass on his knees - along with the stress of everything going on - had started to make him feel sick. Sick or not, he had to find Naru… Naru Hatake! He grunted in annoyance at the whole idea of it.
Un-be-frickin-lievable! That perverted dick of a Hokage found Naruto's sister and married her already? Shikamaru was furious! He had no choice but to keep her away from the Hatake - that's what Naruto would want, surely. His angry thoughts made his concentration slip and he suddenly heard knuckles crack.
Shikamaru had to make sure he was going the right way to find Naru quickly and do so before the village leader found them. As soon as he heard the cracking from behind him, he quickly stood. Unfortunately, the alcohol in his system made him stagger a little which led to him getting punched the crap out of by a completely furious masked Hatake.
"Where is she," the Hokage ordered. The Nara had been punched in the face to the ground and Shikamaru gently touched his eye. His whole worldview was skewed and he was dizzy. "I asked you a question, minion."
Getting no answer, the Rokudaime jumped on the Nara and punched him in the stomach, like Shikamaru had socked him earlier in his office. "You shouldn't have done what you did, brat," he growled. The Hatake - er, the Cerberus clone - gave a withering stare and a moment for the loser to respond. Getting no answer other than a disoriented stare, Cerberus punched him in the face again, accidentally knocking him out. "Akino!"
The sunglass-clad ninken moved out of the shadows towards his summoner. "I need you to find Naru. Let Pakkun and the ANBU know where we have a downed Nara. They are to place him under arrest. Return to me and help me track her down. Do you understand?"
Of course, he understood! Akino knew and spoke his language; Kakashi knew that! He watched his summoner still before reaching into his vest. "Cerberus" pulled out a seal and slapped it on the back of his prisoner. Just from the feel of the man's chakra and smell, Akino knew his summoner was pleased, and at least a little off. I've gotta talk to the pack about Boss's attitude and these changes! Is Boss finally going off the deep end? He then dispersed.
The ninken-summoner pulled his Cerberus mask up and his other mask down, inhaling through his nose deeply. There! He took off at a run towards the scent of his Naru. Suddenly he felt there was something wrong happening. Inhaling again, he smelled blood. Cerberus felt fear that he hadn't experienced since that rainy evening in the graveyard. He hastened his pace.
Well down the road he noticed her - her beautiful hair lit up in the evening lights, her figure… But something was wrong... Pulling up his headband and revealing his Sharingan he realized someone was generating chakra for an attack while Naru stood still. "NO! Hiashi, NO!" The clone dispelled.
It happened too fast!
The original Kakashi retrieved his clone's memories and sunshinned to the area. The Hyuuga was spinning and putting hits on his woman. Is she using chakra to stay in place? She is; but why? He was already running toward her, tossing his mask aside as Naru began to fly from where she was standing. Kakashi moved to catch her, but only got a one-handed hold of her arm as she hit her back and head into a neighboring building. Kakashi saw red.
The red of her blood... The red of his fury! The silver-haired man quickly made another Shadow Clone who began wrapping the blonde's bloody head. Kakashi immediately stood up, holding the blonde, and used sunshin to get to the hospital. Kakashi's clone, however, pulled a scroll and vial from his jacket. Releasing some of his original's blood from the vial, he traced it over the scroll. Hiashi Hyuuga was immediately pulled to the ground by a menacing pack of the Hokage's ninken.
The clone ran to the Clan Head and slapped a tag against the back of his neck. Hiashi's yells immediately ceased, and he looked to the clone in an absolute and confused rage. No matter what he tried, though, he could not bring his hands up high enough to reach the back of his neck, nor could he escape the ninken. He tried to scream and ask questions but found that his voice wouldn't come out at all. Oh, he could think of horrible things he wanted to do to his Hokage, but it would have to be later because he was stuck, left nearly helpless. Damn dogs! Damn Kakashi!
Sakura was walking back to their apartment draped in Lee's arm. "Ugh, I'll be so glad to get home."
Lee picked her up and planted a kiss on her cheek. "I knew you were tired and I shouldn't have allowed you…" Seeing her eyes turn cold - his Sakura-chan was such a prickly little thing - he was quick to restate his meaning. Looking down on her again, he saw her glaring at him. Scary! "What I mean, my beautiful blossom is that it was not youthful of me to take you out this evening when you were so tired from work!" Yes! As intended his wife's glare abated, although her eyes remained sharp.
One more comment that has anything to do with youth and I'll slap his face off. Of course, she wouldn't. It's just the hormones and exhaustion. She sighed. Sometimes Lee's youthfulness did rub her more than the wrong way, but he was the love of her life! Sakura took a deep breath to calm herself. "Well, we should be glad that we didn't get called in tonight. I wonder where the ANBU went?"
"Do not concern yourself with that, Buttercup. I will make you forget all about that matter tonight," Lee said, trying to sound seductive and failing.
"You will stay the hell away from me and let me sleep!" Sakura responded hotly.
Lee let out a very nervous chuckle. So much for that idea. "Of course, my beautiful flower!" She relaxed into his hold.
Coming into the view of the hospital, Sakura looked over to it as she always did. It was fully her responsibility, after all, now that Tsunade-shisho was gone. Suddenly she saw him end his sunshin outside the seal that had been protecting the hospital ever since shortly after Pein's attack. Really the only thing she could see from this distance was a man with shocking silver hair, holding someone with long golden hair that was half-covered in bandages and blood. "Put me down!" Sakura yelled.
Eyes only on his wife, Lee began, "But buttercup…" He immediately found himself on the ground with a quite painful backside. His wife had pushed herself away from him hard; he knew that he was at the very least bruised. Sakura was running to the hospital. Lee tried to get up to follow her but realized he might actually have a broken tailbone. My beautiful flower and her oh-so-youthful strength! He decided to roll on his side to alleviate the pressure from his behind for now. He'd catch up to her soon.
Sakura ran into the hospital, looking around wildly, immediately feeling the killing intent blanketing the room. The receptionist was backing away from the Hokage, who was growling what was no doubt orders to her, but the civilian woman was most likely too afraid to respond. Another thing to correct. "Sensei!" she yelled.
"Sakura: thank the gods!" Kakashi breathed.
Sakura led him, running down to the elevator. She put a key into the lock beside it and asked what had happened. Hearing his rather lengthy and nearly too-fast explanation, she sighed while beginning to heal Naru. Damnit Sensei! This? Plus now it sounds like I'll have even more patients!
Little did she know that this was just the beginning of this mess.
