Chapter 6 - Saved by the Bell
The next two hours drag by slowly, but once the clock finally hits 6:00 am, the power switches back over to the main power line. As everything shifts, the sound of a bell can be heard echoing through the building.
DING! DONG! DING! DONG!
The man in purple sighs with his usual smirk. "And there's the bell," he says as he sets the tablet back on the office desk among the scattered papers cluttering its surface.
Alyssa slumps out of her seat, falling to the floor. As she rests her head on the chair, the brunette closes her brown eyes as a few tears sting the corners of her eyes. She had survived. "Ahhhhhh…" she breathes. "Thank god... Now with all that done… I can't move anymore…"
Vincent looks in her direction and chuckles, "Alright then," he says and stands up. Walks over to his co-worker, the male leans down and picks her up bridal style. "I'll get ya back to the employee's room," he smiles more than smirks.
Shocked at his sudden actions, the newbie yelps with a deep red blush. "Hey!" she cries out and starts to kick her legs. "Put me down! Put me down! If you do or touch anything, I'll murder you!" Alyssa threatens with a glare.
The night guard keeps a surprisingly strong grip on her figure as he talks. "Hey, just relax. I'm not going to try anything." Then the smile was broken with a small smirk. "At least not right now~" he laughs a bit and opens the door carefully so he doesn't drop his companion. Walking through the building and eventually getting to the employee's room, Vincent sets her down on a small, cushioned bench in the room. "Alright, now you can change and head home," he says and walks over to his locker, taking his own key from out of his pants pocket, and opens the door to locker 4. Guess that was his locker.
Alyssa blinks a few times, confused by his sudden kindness. 'The hell?' she mentally asks herself before speaking up again. "Th-Thanks," the night guard says and slowly gets back up on her feet. Quickly making her way over to her own locker, she fishes out the key from her pants pocket and unlocks the door to locker 8. Opening the metal door with a slight squeak, Alyssa grabs what she needs and returns what she doesn't, then closes the door with a click to signal it's locked. She nervously turns to face Vincent with a question that's been bugging her for a while: "Is Mr. Fazbear coming in today...?"
Ignoring her question, for now, Vincent takes off his uniform jack to reveal the white T-shirt he has on underneath, then hangs the jacket on the hanger in his locker. Since he was wearing his own pants, he didn't need to change them. The male then takes off his hat and sets it on the small shelf above his hanging jacket and finally sets his flashlight and restaurant keys next to the hat before shutting the metal locker door. Taking his locker key back from the lock, Vincent returns it to his pants pocket.
After not getting an answer and watching him, the female shrugs and says, "Alright then, don't tell me." Walking into the changing room, the female shuts and locks the door before beginning to change clothes. Alyssa unbuttons and pulls off her jacket, still wearing her own Fazbear shirt underneath, and folds it nicely. Unhooking the belt comes next as she takes off the flashlight and keys. Walking back out, while holding all four items in her hands, the newbie returns to her locker, opens the door, and puts the stuff back as she takes out her brown bag. Almost forgetting about her hat, she pulls it off and returns it to the shelf in her locker. She shuts and locks the door, then takes out the key and puts it back in her pocket while straightening out her messy brown hair.
"And yeah, Mr. Fazbear is the one who comes and unlocks the main door for us," Vincent finally speaks up. "He's always here on time, which is usually a little after 6 am." Looking at the female while casually smirking. "So, I guess I'll see you tomorrow night?~" he asks and puts his hands in his pants pockets.
The brunette throws her bag over her shoulder, then looks at him with an angry and bored expression. "Yeah… Sure…" she groans. "Next time, keep your hands away from me…"
Watching the frustrated newbie walk out of the employee's room, the night guard couldn't help but chuckle. "No promises~" he says while following her out of the room.
Returning to the main party room, three animatronics were back up on stage in their original positions, looking ready to put on a show. Alyssa stops in front of the stage as she and Vincent walk by and stares up at all three. "No wonder no one wants to work here…" she comments sadly. "Somehow... I feel betrayed…" The night guard turns away as a small tear runs down her cheek, but she quickly wipes it away and rubs her eyes. Vincent only watches her from the entrance hall with his hands in his pockets as his co-worker makes her way towards him. The newbie walks around the party tables and gets to the entrance hall of the building, meeting up with the male night guard. She looks out the large two glass doors and sees Mr. Fazbear getting out of his car. A rage suddenly builds inside the young lady; Alyssa is unable to keep it down any longer. Alyssa walks over to the front of the doors and stands there with her fist clenched, gripping the strap of her brown bag tightly. Her glare towards him could almost seem to penetrate through the glass.
Vincent places a hand on her shoulder before giving her some advice. "Hey. Just try to calm down, alright?" he suggests. "If you say something he doesn't like, you may not have this job for much longer. And even if you do plan on quitting, it won't look good to have him called up as a source and say you had an outburst before leaving." He then takes his hand off her shoulder and returns it to his pocket.
The female keeps her eyes glued to Fazbear as she watches him walk up to the door while flipping through his key ring of keys. She sighs hopelessly knowing what he says is true… even though she hated herself for considering anything he had to say. Eventually relaxing her fists and her body to make sure he doesn't know how angry she really is.
As soon as the owner grabs the correct key, he unlocks the door and opens it to see the two night guards standing there in wait. "Hello Alyssa, Vincent. How was your night shift?" he asks with a smile as he steps inside the building.
Vincent is the first to speak up. "It went just as smooth as the other nights, sir. It was a little different being with a second person, but it definitely helped to have an extra set of eyes to watch this place," the man in violet smiles to cover his usual smirk.
Alyssa was now forced to go along with him. "Uh! Yeah. Yeah, it went… smooth," she forces herself to say and shakes her head. "Nothing outta the ordinary. Heh heh... " the brunette says, keeping up the smile, trying to not show any nerves or anger.
"Excellent!" Fazbear smiles at the two. "I'll have Vincent stay your partner for tonight's shift just to ensure you feel comfortable with the equipment."
Cringing inside at the thought of having to spend another six hours in the same room as that prick, the female keeps her smile with great force. "Great… since last night went so well... I'll be happy to have him here with me again," she forces out of her mouth. "I… have to get home. I'm m-meeting up with someone later," Alyssa says quickly, then passes the two males and rushes to the entrance doors. Flinging one open and dashing out to her car, she unlocks the driver's side door and gets inside the vehicle, shutting the door behind her. As soon as the car is on, she pulls out of the parking lot and starts driving back to her apartment.
Fazbear and Vincent watch her leave, but the owner turns to his employee with a confused and concerned look on his face and asks, "Is she alright?"
Vincent turns to look at his boss and nods. "Yeah, she just really wanted to get home to get some rest. Long night for her."
As Alyssa's car drives out of view, a set of eyes are watching her leave the restaurant from out of one of the windows. The figure's gaze shifts to a second taller person beside them and, after a few moments, both figures move out of view of the window.
