Chapter 18 - Cute Bunny Boy

Bonnie is sitting on the ledge of the main stage with his guitar in his hands. One of his legs is crossed over the other to give his arm more support as he plays. He's currently tweaking a few of the tuning keys while strumming with his other hand, listening to the sound go higher or lower. His long purple ears twitch anytime a sharp note is struck. "I keep telling Freddy that we should secretly order more tuning keys and strings…" he groans to himself.

While the hybrid bunny continues his grumbling, Chica is seated at one of the tables close to the stage. Her mind is focused on a page featuring a unicorn jumping over a field of flowers inside of a coloring book along with a box of ten crayons she keeps hidden away. The blonde smiles at the colorful picture as she tries her best to color inside the lines.

Kitten walks out into the big room after shutting the door to Pirate's Cove behind her, then stops upon seeing the two. She can't hide the fact that she's feeling a bit nervous being in the same room as them considering everything that happened. Even though the pirate has been around Bonnie and Chica a couple of times, she still feels like she won't be welcomed by them considering she is still a new 'friend' that just joined their family. Kitten also doesn't want the two to see her in such a sad state. It'll just be more awkward to talk with them if she looks like she doesn't want to be near them. Getting up the courage to move, Kitten takes a deep breath and smiles a bit as she walks into the main party room. "H-Hello," she says quietly. Hopefully, they'll hear her as she walks closer to them, hoping they aren't still mad at her.

Bonnie quickly looks up from his tuning to see the redhead enter the room. He finds himself slightly flustered when she walks in but smiles at her anyway. "H-Hey, Kitten. What's up?" he asks with a small stutter.

Chica looks up from her coloring to Kitten with a small smile. "Hi Kitten," the blonde kindly greets.

Seeing their smiles made Kitten feel a little calmer knowing that they weren't going to yell or be upset with her. "Hey Bonnie. Hey Chica. What are you guys doin'?" she asks while walking over to the main stage area to stand a few feet from both of them.

Chica quickly holds up the coloring book to show the other female the picture of the unicorn. "I found an old coloring book a while back, so I grabbed some crayons and decided to color," she smiles happily, placing her book back down, then proceeds to start coloring again. Bonnie looks away from her and back at his guitar.

"And I'm just tuning up the guitar," he points out before strumming an E major only for it to sound like a sharp D. His ears fall a bit, now feeling embarrassed. "I-I'm still trying to get it working. The kids think it's fake, but in reality, it's a real guitar." He looks back up at her smiling a bit wider at his fun fact.

Kitten takes a few steps towards him so she can get a better look at his guitar. It certainly looks real considering the chords he's playing. "Wow! It's really nice." The redhead looks up at the bunny boy with a smile. "Mind if I sit next to you?"

His eyes widen a bit and his blush grows brighter. "Uh... Yeah," he gulps, scooching a little to the side so she can sit beside him. "Yeah, I'm okay with that. G-Go ahead."

Smiling happily, she turns, then hops up beside him. "Thanks! ….. Hey… I know Cap'n already talked about it, but… I'm really sorry for causing that scene and… a fight." Kitten lowers her head, as well as her ears, sadly.

Bonnie shakes his head frantically. "It's okay! It was one time so nothing bad happened and nobody got hurt!" The guitarist waves both of his hands back and forth hoping what he says will cheer her up a bit.

Chica looks up from her coloring after overhearing the conversation. "Like he said, Kitten, and from the words of Freddy, 'What's done is done,'" the girl giggles after making her voice sound lower to imitate Freddy.

Kitten smiles at both Bonnie's words and Chica's funny voice. 'I'm glad things are looking safe around these two. But I'm more worried 'bout Freddy...' she thinks to herself. Taking her eyes off the black and white checkerboard floor and glancing up at Bonnie, the pirate eyes him up and down once to look at his outfit and figure. In her eyes, he's certainly a cutie.

Bonnie continues to stare at her now feeling confused and slightly awkward. "W-What is it?" he asks, quickly looking down at his vest. "Do I have something on me?"

The redhead chuckles at his reaction. "No no, I'm just looking at your cute bunny pin." Kitten answers as she points at the small purple bunny head pin on his vest. "By the way, you don't have to be nervous around me. I don't bite."

He chuckles a bit before saying, "Well… it's not my fault I'm like this… I tend to get nervous really easily, not to mention that I freak out a lot, and sometimes get scared of just about anything…" Bonnie looks over at his blonde companion. "Chica on the other hand is very sweet, but you don't want to mess with her when she's angry."

Right after he says that, the said half-bird, half-girl doesn't look up from her coloring, but does hold up a thumbs up. "And don't you forget it!" she calls out before lowering her hand back down back to her coloring book.

Kitten giggles at Chica's response. "I'm sure. And don't worry, maybe after a while, you'll get used to me and the shyness will fade," she says while showing him a kind smile.

Bonnie looks down at his feet. "I agree with you. And I think you're a nice person… robot… thing, yet..." The bunny boy's ears droop lower to the point they're almost covering his face. "I'm not sure if my nervousness will ever go away. I'm kinda different when compared to the other three. Freddy is more of a leader and sometimes bossy; Chica is kind and playful, yet angry most of the time; and Foxy is very outgoing and sometimes a little over the top. Me, I'm just a typical rabbit boy who can't go anywhere alone or be by himself without sobbing like a baby."

The pirate's cat ears twitch a bit seeing his ears fall. It is also kind of cute. "Aww…don't say that," she smiles, scooching over to give him a side hug. "You seem like a really nice guy… robot… thing yourself." Bonnie chuckles along with her at the returned joke.

"You know... We haven't talked like this since you came here. You're always in Pirate's Cove with Foxy, I just never got around to talking with you…" Kitten shrugs then moves her arm off of him.

"Yeah. I got here a few weeks ago, so it was either staying in Pirate's Cove or being active at night." She sighs before continuing. "Guess the weekends are really the only chance we could get to actually talk, huh?"

Bonnie looks back up at her, his ears perking up a bit hearing the disappointment in her voice. "Well… you could always come out on certain days. Like Christmas Eve, or… Fourth of July… or something...?" The boy was honestly trying to find something he could say to help cheer this girl up.

She shrugs in response, not quite what he was expecting. "True, but again, this is my first weekend wandering around here. I hope Freddy won't be too angry with me after all that..."

The guitarist waves his hand back and forth. "Don't worry about it. Freddy may seem scary at first, but he's like a big teddy bear on the inside," he says, hoping to make her smile, even just a bit. However, Kitten once again just shrugs him off.

"I still feel awful about it. I hadn't even met you guys properly and I tampered with your equipment." She hangs her head with the guilt weighing her down. "What kind of first impression is that…?"

Seeing his attempts are not even working in the slightest, the rabbit boy places his hand on her shoulder, prompting her to look back up at him. "Hey, don't think that way. I mean… You did it for a reason. Right?" he asks her gently.

Kitten nods. "Yeah, but it could have waited… o-or I could've found another way! I just… I'm so sorry!" she sadly pleads with the boy lowering her head again as she begins to quietly sob.

Chica looks up from her coloring book to her friends. Noticing Bonnie's frantic expression, he looks towards her, then watches as he makes several quick gestures with his hands as if pleading for her help. This is obviously out of his comfort zone… The blonde simply shrugs, then flips her hand at him in a "shoo-ing" motion. Bonnie sighs to himself seeing that she's not going to do anything to help. Turning back to his saddened new friend, the purple-haired male tries to comfort her again. "W-Wait! Don't cry. Please, it's okay. Really. You had a good reason and that's okay, right? R-Right?" he stutters, feeling hopelessly lost as he just starts spouting out words she may want to hear.

"Smooth…" Chica whispers to herself as she continues her coloring, but keeps an ear on the conversation between the two.

Kitten wipes her eyes with the back of her hand, then looks back up at him. "I-I'm fine. You're right, it was for a good reason," she chokes out while trying to give him her best smile.

Bonnie's ears continue to fall. "But… you're still hurt. I don't want you to be sad anymore."

Kitten blushes at his concern and smiles a bit more genuinely. "Thanks, Bonnie. You really are a sweet guy. I'll be alright now. Thank you for cheering me up."

His blush grows as his ears point completely straight up like they do as an animatronic before he quickly looks away, trying his best to hide his blush. "Th-Th-That's good to hear! Just don't cry anymore. … Maybe when I'm not around..." Bonnie mumbles that last bit to himself.

The redhead laughs happily at his nervous actions. "Maybe I will act sad occasionally so you'll be concerned about me," she says out loud, mostly to herself, feeling a little playful at the moment as her tail moves back and forth across the stage happily.

Bonnie makes a small pout with his lips making his face comedically pudgy and his voice sound weird, "Now you're just making fun of me…" Kitten can only giggle at this.

"No, I'm saying that I like the attention of someone actually caring about me and how I feel."

He looks back at her, now confused. "What do you mean? Doesn't Foxy understand your feelings?"

Kitten looks down at her boots and mumbles, "Sometimes... Other times, he's oblivious to them." Her ears fold down, but she keeps a sad smile on her face.

"Well… Foxy is old, so I guess he forgets things pretty often. All of us are old… except for you, of course!" the purple bunny quickly points out after realizing what he said. He looks around the room as he continues. "It's just… We've been here ever since the place opened and we're still playing with the same joints and gears."

She nods. "Yeah, I get that. And I'm sure it's weird changing things up a bit with me around now."

Bonnie shakes his head, smiling. "Nope, I think having another animatronic like you here is a great thing. I think the kids enjoy you a lot since you're new and you're a cute kitt-" His eyes widen and he shut his lips fast before finishing that last word. Clearing his throat, he corrects himself and says, "I-I-I mean nice kitty! That's it…!"

Kitten's face goes completely red hearing his accidental compliment. Her smile grows and her tail sways faster. "You think I'm cute?"

With a small gulp, the embarrassed boy replies, "Well… you are p-pretty and talented and… c-cute."

"Us cats usually are~" the feline girl giggles, smiling cutely while purring happily.

He looks back at her a bit seeing her smile from the corner of his eye. The boy's blush grows so bright, it's about the same color as his bow tie and her cat ears. His face continues to grow hot from his bashfulness. Turning away again, Bonnie looks over towards Chica hoping to maybe talk about something else so his blush can calm down. "H-Hey, Chica? H-How's the picture coming...?" he asks the blonde kinda desperately.

The said girl smirks knowing Bonnie probably likes Kitten, what with the sound of his voice. "Better than your speech skills, tomato face~" she giggles while being playfully mean to him. Kitten giggles along with her only from the comment.

Bonnie glares at his friend. "Chica! How could you be so mean? I'm older than you, so you have to be nicer to me!" he shouts as he crosses his arms and continues to pout like a stubborn child.

Chica looks up from her book and smiles cutely. "Why, whatever do you mean? I'm not being mean~" she chirps, imagining herself with a halo and angel wings.

Giving him a side hug, Kitten squeezes him a little tightly. "Oh, come on, Bonnie!" she says, smiling up at him. "Lighten up, she's just messing with you like a little sister would."

His eyes widen after feeling her arm around his back, also feeling his body tense up. "Uh, r-right... that's it... Heh heh." the boy chuckles nervously.

She finds it fun and cute how manipulated he could be from a pair of "puppy" or in this case, "kitten eyes." The way his ears twitch look quite adorable, maybe even fun to play with if she could get a chance to flick them. The pirate girl leans in and nuzzles her face against his neck letting out a quiet purr.

Bonnie once again feels frozen in place. A sudden chill crawls up from his feet, then his back, then his head, and up to his ears; both his fluffy tail and ears frizzle up in response. Kitten, after feeling his body stiff as a statue, looks up from her cuddling to him. "You okay, Bonnie?~" she smiles.

For her answer, all he gives her is a look like a puppet with a goofy smile on his face; it almost looks like he has hearts in his eyes. Chica turns her gaze to look up at him and giggles. "I think you broke him~" she points out with a snicker.

Kitten looks over to her, then pulls away from him to look up at his face. The deep red, love-struck look he's giving off is weird, but to her, it's very funny. She giggles at his funny look, then raises her hand up to his nose, and flicks the tip to immediately bring him right back into reality.

"Wah!" The rabbit gasps before falling back onto the stage having his arms sprawled out at his sides. He holds his goofy look as he starts mumbling to himself. "Haha…~ She hugged me…~ So… warm, so cute…~"

Still sitting where she was, and surprised at his sudden fall, Kitten's blush grows, along with her smile, and she scoots back closer to the side of his chest, then crosses her legs and holds her ankles tightly. "You're such a goofball," she giggles at the bunny boy.

Standing up from her seat, Chica closes her book and places the box of crayons on top before walking away towards the hallway leading to the kitchen. "I think I'm craving some pizza," she hums to herself, smiling at the thought of Kitten and Bonnie together.

Bonnie's eyes quickly return back to normal as he shakes his head, making a funny motorboat sound with his lips, then stops. "Did I hear pizza?" he asks, then turns to his right to see Kitten laying beside him. His light red eyes widen as he lets out a loud yelp before forcing his body upwards, then quickly turns away, blushing in embarrassment. "S-Sorry!"

Kitten smiles at him. 'He really is silly when he's embarrassed, but also cute at the same time,' she thinks, now moving her legs outwards to stretch them along with her arms from behind while leaning back on them. "No need to be sorry. That was flippin' adorable!" she bubbles. Bonnie clears his throat, trying to give his blush time to fade as much as he can.

"W-Well I… I- Aah!" Before he can finish his thought, Bonnie slides off the edge of the stage only for the guitar to fall off his lap. He quickly leans down and grabs it, now holding it close. Turning to Kitten, he's hoping to finish what he started.

The redheaded cat girl scoots back to the edge to look at the guitar closely. "Don't move like that if you have something on your lap. … Is it okay?" she warns him, hoping the instrument isn't damaged. Bonnie looks it over before sighing to himself.

"It's fine. I've dropped it on numerous occasions, but I built it to be pretty sturdy, so I think it'll be okay for now," he gently explains.

She hops off the edge of the stage and steps closer to him causing the purple rabbit boy to flinch. "Alright. But still, be careful," she continues before smiling up at him. "Anyway, what were you about to say?"

Bonnie freezes once more realizing he completely forgot what he wanted to say to her. Looking down at the instrument for a few seconds, he returns his gaze back up to her. "Well… K-Kitten… Is it true you helped the guard? Or were Freddy and Foxy just saying things…?"

Kitten's eyes widen at his question. She was really hoping he wouldn't have asked her about that whole ordeal but had a feeling that it would come up sooner or later, whether she liked it or not. Looking down at the floor and folding her arms across her chest, the pirate finally speaks up. "Y-Yeah. It's true… I… I was also the one who shut the door when it got jammed," she answers, lowering her ears down from the guilt.

The guitarist turns away from her and looks over at the hall to Pirate's Cove. "So that's who was blocking the door…" he mumbles before looking back at her. "Is she really that special?" Kitten nods back very quickly.

"She's here to earn money, but it's not for herself. It's for her sister with no mobility left in her legs. If she died here… her sister would be left alone…"

Bonnie's eyes widen again, but only slightly. Foxy never mentioned that part in the meeting, only about a medical reason. He just thought she was very sick, or possibly dying. Having no way to walk is possibly the second most heartbreaking fate one could have besides death. "Seriously? So, she's risking her life and limb to make money?"

Kitten looks back up at him with guilt in her eyes. "She didn't realize she was risking her life until it was too late…"

"I'm sorry… I don't think Freddy will understand though," he mentions as his ears droop down to the point they're almost covering his eyes.

"I know… but I'm still going to protect her, no matter what. I don't care what happens to me. I don't want her to suffer any more than she already has." Determination rings from her voice with every word she speaks.

Now worried about her getting hurt, Bonnie shakes his head. "I-I don't know if that'll be okay! Freddy will be very angry. So angry… that he might turn you off for a while!"

She looks away with a glare before mumbling, "I'd like to see him try…" Kitten flinches when she feels the boy's hand on her shoulder. The girl turns to look back up to him, seeing a worried expression that is also holding the same determination she has.

"Just be careful… Okay?" Bonnie gently asks her. He really doesn't want to see his new friend hurt or in trouble with anyone else.

Kitten smiles up at him, showing off a bit of her blush; she likes this side of him. Bonnie isn't like Foxy at all, yet she feels safe around him, like how she feels when she's with her captain. Why is she feeling this way, though? She nods before saying, "If I was going to be careful, I wouldn't have shown myself to Alyssa," then gives him a playful wink.

Bonnie had to blink a few times to understand what she meant before shaking his head at her. "Right… I should've known." He smiles a little before taking his hand off her shoulder. Looking away, he removes the smile from his face and replaces it with a frustrated expression. 'Stupid, stupid!'

The pirate cat walks around him, then leans forward to look at his face only to giggle. "You okay?" she asks which makes him jump a bit.

"Woah! Yeah! Yeah, I'm okay!" he says out a bit loudly while taking a step back. "Uhh… Hey! Wanna do something? You look like you need cheering up!"

The girl doesn't look surprised at his request, especially when he just wanted to help her feel happy again. It was very sweet of him to think of her like that and she smiles. "I… Yeah, I'd like that. Maybe we could go get pizza with Chica." She giggles at that last part. "That actually rhymed a bit!"

Bonnie chuckles with her while he sits the guitar back on the stage, then returns to her, smiling. "Well, let's go then."

After giving him a quick nod, she steps up closer to the bunny boy, moving her arms behind her back. She looks up and gives him a cute and happy smile that prompts his blush to return. "Thank you, Bon Bon, for wanting to make me feel better. I hear you and Chica are good cooks, so I look forward to trying your pizza."

He smiles nervously, then raises his hand up to scratch the back of his head. It was really cute to watch. "W-Well… Surprisingly, Chica is the better chef; I just learned a bit from her. I'm more into repairing and working with robotics," he admits bashfully before turning around and starts walking along with Kitten at his side. "But the pizza is really good. I think they all come here for that instead of us. Although some kids tend to get sick a couple of times after they eat it. Though, I hear the parents still take them here even when they're feeling sick."

"That sucks. You'd think a place full of kids would be more sanitary," she thinks out loud as she looks around the hallway, admiring the coloring pages that either the kids or possibly Chica had made for the restaurant and/or the gang. The girl notices a few of them had all four Fazbear members, but one of them was a Freddy figure which had a brighter orange color to it. 'Another Freddy? I didn't know there was another Freddy here...'

Bonnie notices the way Kitten's focused on some pictures, so he tries to follow her gaze to see what she was looking at. However, all he can see are the normal coloring pages. Looking back down at her, he nudges her with his elbow. "Kitten? You okay?" he gently asks to pull her from her thoughts.

The cat girl flinches from the nudge and quickly looks back up at Bonnie. "I… Yeah. I'm okay," she softly smiles. "I was just wondering if you guys have ever gotten sick before." The rabbit shrugs.

"Well... Chica got sick after eating a lot of pizza one time. I caught something that may have been a cold a while back... So, yeah, I guess we do get sick like normal folks. Have you gotten sick since you were made?"

Kitten shakes her head. "Nope."

"Lucky…" he grudgingly responds.
