Just so you know, while this story is seen mostly from Eldingar Stormur's POV, the narrator is Stormbringer, the father of Eldingar Stormur.

Also it's quite likely you won't see any more updates from me for the rest of the year, I might haul ass and finish chapter 4 of origins, but it's not that likely.

Bold: Means either something powerful, Stormbringer talking, author's notes, or extra emphasis.

Italics: Thought, or emphasis.

(Eldingar Stormur's POV)

Slowly stirring awake I lifted my head to see what position the sun was in, grumbling in annoyance, I realized I had awoken earlier than normal.

Slowly rising and stretching, I felt some of my bones pop, and I groaned from the stiffness I had gotten from sleeping on the bare stone of the cave I called home in the Elder's Recess.

After I had shaken off the grogginess from just waking up, I realized that my instincts were blaring at me.

'That's probably why I woke up early.' I thought to myself.

In an attempt to find out what had gotten my instincts to flare up I sniffed.

'Nargacuga, Female.'

'They must've caught my scent and followed me here.'

Groaning internally at the thought of what they had probably followed me all the way here for, I sighed and stepped out the entrance of the cave.

'There.'

Clinging to the rocks and pebbles, and using small crags as footholds, the Nargacuga nimbly leapt from cliff to cliff, making her way up to me.

From the looks of it, it would take her at least 5 minutes till she reached me.

Eyes narrowing, I begin to charge my lightning breath.

4 minutes, a near imperceptible thrumming begins, the Nargacuga can't hear it, the noise she makes climbing covers the sound.

2 minutes, the thrumming is louder, a quick glance skywards reveals that small bits of black have started leaking into the clouds above.

1 minute, electricity has started jumping from my scales, and the lighting patterns on my wings start glowing, and the once pure white clouds are now pitch black. The Nargacuga is too focused on climbing to notice.

30 seconds, it starts raining and lightning begins flashing and thunder booms. The Nargacuga has reached the ledge below me, and too late it realizes something is wrong.

Power surges through my body and the sound of electricity humming roaring in my ears drowns any thoughts of mercy.

The Nargacuga looks up, and just before it's blasted clear off the mountain, I see fear on its face.

With a clap of thunder the lightning I had been storing for 4 minutes and 35 seconds roars forwards, and with a roar of pure agony, the Nargacuga is sent flying from the ledge and off the mountain.

With an angry shriek I flap my wings and dart towards the falling Nargacuga at an impossible speed.

In the span of less than a second I impact the Nargacuga's falling body and send it spiralling away.

I'm quick to follow up with another strike, then another, and another, before finally drawing the electricity from the storm above, covering myself in lightning, and smashing them downwards.

The added force of me impacting their body sends them, and me, plummeting downwards at incredible speeds.

Just before impact with the ground I turn my body and use my talons to slam them downwards at the same time we hit the ground.

The Nargacuga's body ruptures and blood and gore is sent everywhere.

Cackling at my gore covered body, I look around to see just which area I had landed in.

I saw an Uragaan standing there, staring at me with a very concerned expression, I simply gave it a mad grin.

The Uragaan promptly curled up and rolled the other way.

Shaking some of the blood off me, I headed off to find some poor small monster to eat.

I had found a few Gastodons, and was now chomping down on them inside of my cave.

But I was concerned, Normally you only find Nargacuga in the Guiding Lands, Ancient Forest, and Coral Highlands.

That Nargacuga must've been pretty desperate to follow me all the way to my cave.

Other males are far and few between.

It's been, what, three years since male monster birth rates had started declining?

Upon further contemplation I realized, damn, that was one sturdy ass Nargacuga!

It took all that punishment, and it was the fall that killed it, it probably could've fucked me to death.

Despite being unusually sturdy for my species, I was still a wyvern, and a lightning one at that!(true wyverns are glass cannons, and lightning wyverns are even more so)

Looks like It's time to go visit my sister and see if the old world is having the same problem the new world is.

Right before I could lift off however, a roar sounded out.

Turning my neck at a speed that was probably unhealthy, I saw what had decided to go after my ass this time.

A Bazelguese. Fuck.

Deciding that it wasn't worth wasting my time trying to fight a Bazelgeuse, and I would deal with it when I got back, I blasted off towards the old world.

After landing at a random spire and supercharging myself to reduce the travel time from an hour to a few minutes. I reached the old world and landed at the spire my sister calls home. Except, she wasn't there.

Sniffing the air I smelled, nothing, nothing at all.

"That's strange, if I can't smell anything that means the wind is blowing towards me, and it wasn't blowing that way before, and my sister could control the air currents, and knowing her personality.."

"Hello, brother".

Oh look, a cliffhanger! I'd feel bad about doing this but I need content for the next chapter! Next chapter we get to see two new characters: Vindstormur, and Vulcan!

Vindstormur is an aerokinetic Amatsumagatsuchi, while Vulcan is a juvenile Greater Volcano Drake with a small amount of geokinesis and the ability to distribute kinetic force across his body to minimize the amount of damage taken.

Just so you know Eldingar Stormur is chaotic neutral, they indiscriminately kill anything that gets in their way, in this story, it's mostly female monsters trying to fuck him.

P.S. I might end up posting a Monarch Database style story for my monster hunter OCs.

P.P.S. There is a poll in my profile page.
