A/N: I know that it has been a year since I have updated this story but it is finally finished. I have edited all of the chapters and have added more content to the previous chapter, which is Sue's point of view. This is the last chapter but there is an Epilogue that will come out next week.

There is no turning back now, those words ring out in Charlie's mind as the door slammed on the life that he had and the life that he thought he had wanted. Tears fell from his eyes as realization hit him that he had hurt another woman with his love for Billy.

"I'm sorry" he whispers continuously as Billy rubs his back trying to comfort him in his anguish over the pain that he'd put Sue through. Charlie had let his anger towards Billy and how he had left him to pick up the pieces of his first failed marriage overshadow the feelings that he had for Billy.

When Billy continued to stop by every day without fail after Charlie had kicked him out six weeks prior, Charlie tried his hardest to ignore him. He didn't want to hurt his new family. Charlie had been heartbroken when Billy had chosen not to be with him all those years ago and he did not want to set himself up for that pain again.

However, Charlie caught himself remembering the time before Billy had left Washington, back when everything seemed easier.

They had been in each other's lives since they were kids and had fallen in love with each other as they grew up. And yes, Charlie will always be the small town boy who never left said small town and Billy will always be the boy from the Reservation, who dreamed of more than the land that he saw before him. Billy wasn't just all talk, he meant it when he said that he would leave LaPush; but, he had also meant it when he said that he wanted Charlie to come with him.

Billy had always been smart, so smart in fact that he got a scholarship to college. A full ride to Seattle University and a partial scholarship to NYU. He decided to go to NYU and even though he knew it would be a struggle he truly wanted to see the world.

The night before graduation he had another fight with his parents and decided to leave early. The program that he was going into had an early start semester and at first he wanted to stay and have one final summer with Charlie; but, his parents were not in support of him leaving. Billy screamed that he was gay and that he would no longer have to live by their rules, he could be free.

He went to Charlie's that night and through a rock at his bedroom window that overlooked the front yard.

Charlie was shocked to see Billy since he knew that Charlie's stepfather was not the nicest person and hated guests. Charlie could not wait until he could enlist in the police force so that he could finally get rid of his stepfather and be able to provide for his mother.

He exited the house and Billy met him around back, "I am leaving tomorrow after graduation and I want you to come with me" professes Billy.

Staring into his eyes, Charlie could see the love that Billy had for him and the truth in his words. But, Charlie also knew that he had other plans for his life. He didn't want to continue hiding with Billy, he wanted to be able to stand up for himself.

"I can't," he whispered, "What about my mom? I can't leave her to him, Billy. You know that."

"I understand but we can come back for her." Billy said while putting his hands on Charlie's face, staring into his eyes. "She is an adult, baby. She made her choices and now it is time for us to make ours. Please come with me" begged Billy.

Charlie felt horrible because he knew that he wasn't going to go with the love of his life. He knew that it was not the path for him. He wanted to get married and have children and that was not something him and Billy would ever have. He wanted to be Sheriff of Forks and help those who could not help themselves. He wouldn't have any of that if he left with Billy, tomorrow.

"I love you" he said, moving his face even closer to Billy and pulling him down for a kiss. Charlie wanted one more night with his love; since he knew that this would be the last time that they would be together.

The couple tracked into the woods to their secret hideaway and made love until the wee hours of the morning. Billy told Charlie that he would meet him at the bus stop after graduation. Charlie never showed, instead he took his truck out to the lake and went on a very long fishing trip. He didn't want to break Billy's heart but he knew that his mind was made up. He just hoped that Billy would have a better life away from LaPush...away from him.

Charlie's life however, was not as normal as he had thought that it would be. He did end up following in his grandfather's footsteps and becoming an officer of the law. He married young and fathered a child. He'd met Renee at a local party two years later, he drunkenly slept with her hoping to dull his pain. She ended up pregnant and doing the honorable thing, Charlie married her. It was one of his best decisions since it got him, his daughter, Isabella named after his mother. Who had been murdered by her husband a week after Charlie graduated from the police academy.

He truly had love for Renee but as time went on he realized that his love for her was out of obligation to Bella then it was to each other as a couple. He would catch himself wishing that Billy would show up on his doorstep one day and tell him that he wanted to build a life with him in Forks.

His wish was finally granted when Billy reappeared a few years later. Charlie was ready and willing to leave the life that he had created behind to be with the love of his life. But, before that could happen Billy had called it off and Charlie couldn't understand why. For the longest time he believed that it was a revenge plot against him for how he'd ended things on graduation; yet, with Billy's latest appearance and his continued persistence and pursuit of Charlie, the Sheriff finally put those thoughts to rest.

Remembering what led to them ripping each others' clothes off at his front door, Charlie proclaims, "I want to be with you, Billy" as he lifts his head off of Billy's bare chest.

Billy had placed them both in a spooning position, "I didn't mean to hurt, Sue. That was never my intention but I can't seem to get you out of my head...or my heart."

It pained Charlie that he had hurt Sue and as she slammed the door to his house, he knew that it was over. There was truly nothing standing in their way this time but divorce papers.

"Please tell me that this is real and not a game to you" he whispers the last part, not wanting to let his insecurities surface.

"Baby" says a naked Billy as he repositions himself in front of Charlie pulling him down to his chest. "Of course, this isn't a game. I am sorry about last time. I let my parents get inside my head. They said that if we ran off together that I would just be ruining your life. That I would be taking your opportunity to be a father to Bella away from you. I couldn't hurt you like that."

"You told your parents about us" asks Charlie as he caresses Billy's chest playing in the light hair that graces it. "They never acted like they knew about us." Shaking his head he continues, "not when I would see them around."

"That's because I asked them not to. I wanted you to have as normal a life as possible." Billy answers as he kisses the top of Charlie's head.

"I know that this won't be easy but I am not leaving you again. You're stuck with me" proclaims Billy as he tightens his hold around Charlie's body.

"You're stuck with me too" exclaims Charlie as he looks up at the only man that he ever wanted.

"So, are you finally going to make an honest man out of me? Am I finally going to become Mr. Billy Black-Swan?" he laughs.

Staring into each other's eyes a smile graces Charlie's face as he nods, yes.
