It was the next day and this morning Meri was up earlier than usual. She was looking in her dresser in boxes for things she could use to help with the scepter.

"What could I use. Hmm, this swirl pointy thing?' She asked herself, referring to a human-sized nail. "Looks useless." Meri lets out a huff and throws it behind her.

Not too long later, there was a knock on the door. It opened revealing none other than Meri's best friend Flynn. "Well, you're up earlier than usual." Flynn walked over to her. He bent over trying to get a glimpse at what she was doing. All he could make out is her searching through a box of lost things.

She gasped and closed up the box and turned around, "Flynn, you're never gonna believe this! Guess what happened!" She asked and took a seat on a stool.

He seemed rather confused. He gave it some thought, but nothing came to mind, so he just shrugged. "I'm not quite sure?'

"I have been chosen to make the next fall scepter! Can you believe it? It happened all so fast, and it was so overwhelming-!" She rambled on about what happened.

"Hey, then that means they gave you The Moonstone?" Flynn asked.

"Yeah!" She nodded and gently reached out to take his arm, "Wanna see?" Meri asked, taking him over to one of her dressers which The Moonstone's box was placed onto.

Flynn followed her and then watched her twist it open as it slowly appeared in its safe box. It gave off a lovely blue glow. The two fairies bend down to match its height to get a good glance at it. Meri then peeked over to Flynn as he was looking at the stone. The Moonstone may have glow brighter than his sea-blue eyes, but she suddenly couldn't help but find herself lost in them. She shook her head lightly and stood back up, looking down at the Moonstone. Flynn felt her glare, he was embarrassed about that. Luckily he didn't give off any sort of blush as a sign of acknowledgment.

Flynn cleared his throat, "Wow, I just never thought I would see it up so close before." he stood back up. " You should just keep it in its box till you finish making the scepter since its super fragile. Wouldn't want it to break."

Meri nods, "Yeah I know. They told me all about that before I took it home yesterday."

He hummed, "You know, maybe I could help you. I can collect some supplies and do some research." Flynn offered in kind.

"You will? That's so sweet… you don't have to go through all of that." Meri smiled softly.

Flynn nods, "Hey, what are friends for? So what do you say? Can I be your wingman?"

"That would be great! We can get things done faster." She giggled.

The clock ticked as the cricket then popped out of the clocked and made an alarm-like noise. Meri grumbled in her cozy warm bed. It was one of the best nights of sleep she has had in a long time. Since she has to make the scepter Meri has been off firefly duty at night so some other Sparrow Man took the job for now.

Suddenly there was a tapping on the door. It started off as gently then the door was swung open, letting all of the sunlight shine in. Meri hissed and rubbed her eyes, sitting up.

"Morning," Flynn said softly, as he seemed to have some items in his hands.

"Hey, you." She said in a low, tired voice since she just woke up.

"Alright, we have one full moon until The Autumn Revelry." He crossed out a yellow moon with black chalk on the calendar to count the moon cycle down. "Here we go." Flynn looked back at her as she was sitting on the edge of a table.

Meri got several scrolls the previous day so she could start sketching out the scepters design. She has been sketching it for a little over two hours now. Flynn then walked over and placed down a bag full of lost things which were human tools.

"I was allowed to the dust-keeper depot since I am one of Terence's friends, so he let me take some things. Oh, and I looked through this book he gave me before I went to sleep last night, so I already know a bit of information."

"That's great! I can tell you're gonna be a big help. Thank you so much!" She stood up and went over to give him a quick hug.

Flynn stiffened at her sudden gesture. He wasn't really used to her hugging him since it was a rare occasion. Unlike other times he felt warm along with a fluttery type of feeling. She then let go and walked back to sit down. He then cleared his throat and went over to take a looks at the sketch.

"Hey, that looks pretty good. Now, if you want to get the most of Blue Pixie Dust you gotta maximize the Moonstone's surface area." Flynn pointed at the top of the scepter.

"Ah, I see. You read that all in one night?" Meri asked, looking up at him.

The male fairy shook his head and took out the book. "You see, Terence, put bookmarks on which parts I should read first." He told her, showing the pages as he flipped to the correct ones. "Oh, he also offered to help us, but I said I was helping you, and you two don't know each other very well." Flynn chuckled.

"Oh, that was sweet of him! Well, your right there. I don't know him well, although he is pretty cute." She grinned, thinking about his looks.

He gasped and shut the book with his hand, "What am I to you? Nothing?" Flynn hissed.

Her saying that really made him feel like he drowned and like his heart shattered.

Meri laughed, "I'm joking Flynn, don't worry." Was she joking though? She is fascinated by his looks along with him being a Dust keeper fairy. He huffed and shook his head.

At least several days have passed by now. A week to be precise. Meri already started to form part of the scepter with the help of the fireplace in her home to shape the materials with heat. She used a type of pliers to hold the gold-colored metal to shape it and scrape anything off. Every day Flynn would bring in things to eat along with the occasion supplies. She would be forming the scepter while he would be reading for any type of useful information.

As more days passed, she began to use the hammer to start shaping the pieces. Flynn placed down some warm pumpkin soup and potatoes to have for lunch at the other side of her workspace that was cleaner. Meri looked up at him and then glanced back down, continuing to work.

"Hey, it's past noon. You should eat too." He said sitting down.

They were double of the warm comfort food that Flynn placed down. The soft winds coming from the open windows sent the aroma of the pumpkin soup sent over towards the fairy. She smelt the delicious scent as it was distracting her. She placed her tools down and looked over to the calendar of the Full Moon Cycle. She shook her head and picked up her tools to begin working again.

"You already worked pretty hard today. It's time for a break." Flynn picked up a wooden silverware and scooped up some potato. He quietly went over to her and gently but forcefully enough shoved some in her mouth.

This made her instantly stiffen in quite a shock as her cheeks flushed to a deep red, realizing what happened. Flynn snorted at her reaction. After swallowing, she wiped her mouth and looked away, embracing and hiding her face. Meri let out a sigh, quite annoyed, and gave him a harsh glare.

"You should have seen your face, " he let out a long sigh, "Ah, priceless."

Meri grumbled, "I didn't think you would be such a distraction."

He hummed and looked over to her, "Meri, I would just like for you to take a break and eat. Is that so much to ask of you?" Flynn frowned.

The fairy thought about it for a few seconds only for it to suddenly started to become hard to think. She was starting to feel more hungry than usual. At last, she gave in and scooted over to the other end of the desk. Flynn smiled, watching her bring the dishes closer to her and picking up her own silverware to eat.

"See? It's not that hard to take some time off for yourself to eat, now is it?" He asked and gently patted her soft hair.

She glared over to him and smiled softly, "You're right. I know I was rude to you at times, so I'd fly backward if I could." Meri apologized.

"Hey, it's alright. I understand you want to get things done on time. So no worries okay?" He beamed quite a big grin. She then nods in return. The two then shared yet another meal together.

Every day Flynn would knock right after sunrise. His knocks started to annoy her. As she worked, he began to take breaks from his reading to sweep up around her workspace. He even cleaned up around her desk area while she was working there. This infuriated her, but she didn't quite show it. She loved to have his presence around, but lately, she started to wish he was not around annoying her. He was pretty useful from the start but had started to become distracting and quite annoying.

His constant sweeping and talking about Dustology started to really get to her. She could almost snap and yell at him if he broke the last straw. Soon there was only a week left until the Autumn Revelry. Today was the day she finished forming the top of the scepter. She went over to grab the box and gently placed it down on her desk. She then watched Flynn have trouble keeping the fire lit. The air blower looked jammed. She rolled her eyes and sat back down, and gently opened the Moonstone Case. Once it was opened, the glow was quite bright. It never ceases to amaze her. Gently, Meri picked it up. The fairy looked over to the holder and sat down to gently but slowly place it in its spot.

"Steady, now. This is the tricky part." Flynn looked over her shoulder.

Meri glared over to him, "I know." She looked back at the glowing stone, concentrating.

He then interrupted her again with some sort of Dustalogy information. She quickly told him she got it.

"The curvature of The Moonstone." Flynn finished his sentence causing one of the holding structures to break.

She then picked up the tool she was using and then her hammer as she tried to shape the end of the object. Though it just broke up a piece. Meri groaned and placed her hand on her head.

"You know, you could use a sharp thing," Flynn suggested.

"That's exactly what I need. Could you go out and find me something?" She asked, tilting her head with wide, batting eyes.

"You got it. I won't be too long!" He waved off.

"Take your time!" She grinned watching him close the door.

When he was gone she felt like had a burden was off her shoulders for the moment, and now she could work in peace. Though now, there was not much work that needed to be done. Mostly concentration. After The Moonstone was carefully placed on the very top of the scepter piece, she blows off any dust shavings.

"There we go." She grins, taking a step back, "Now, where did I put those silver shavings?" Meri hummed and looked around her room before heading over to a box and searching through it. Finally, she found its container and flew back over to the scepter. As she just started to drizzle some on Meri was bombarded alarmed by none other than Flynn, who seemed to roll in some sort of a round object.

"Hey, I'm back, with your sharp thingy." He placed it at the edge of the workspace table.

Meri growled to herself, "Uh, Flynn. You made a mistake. This is round."

"No, no, no. It's the opposite! If you just look inside it's-" He gestured to the button to press the round compass open only to be interrupted by Meri.

"Look, I am almost done. Would you mind getting this big round object out of here?" She asked while rolling her eyes.

Flynn frowned and placed his hands on top of the round object and started to roll it out but suddenly lost control of it as it started to slip away. He gasped and did his best to fly and catch it but ended up falling on the floor, coincidently catching the Moonstone as it split off its holder and started to roll away. He sighed in relief as he held it close as he was getting up. That relief didn't last too long though, because seconds later, there was a sudden crash. Flynn froze as he slowly looked up to see a broken scepter.

Meri gasped as her mouth hung open, trying to recall what happened. All of those days of hard work are gone. If anything, she was too much in shock to instantly start yelling, but it was only a matter of time. Slowly, she walked over and kneeled down, picking up a piece of the now broken scepter, and stood back up.

"All of my work… destroyed." She tried to take in a deep to calm her down, but it didn't quite help. "If you never bought this round object it wouldn't be destroyed!" She finally shouted.

"Meri, I'm so sorry, but as I was trying to tell you earlier, if you look inside there is a sharp pointy thing." He began to explain as he walked over to her.

Meri sighed, heavily lowering her head, "No. Just take this thing out. That's the best thing you could do now." She took the Moonstone away from him and placed it down on a soft pillow.

"Meri, I am so sorry. Maybe we could build it together this time, and we might make it?" He looked over to the remaining moon days they had left.

Meri was in her own world thinking to herself. She shot him a tough death glare. "You brought this stupid thing here. You broke the scepter. This is your fault!" She pointed at him in anger.

She never really got angry like Tinker Bell. More so hiding her frustration than letting it all out after. Definitely not turning red at all.

"Hey, I just wanted to help you and be a good friend." Flynn watched her sniffle and rub her nose as she walked away. Her arms were crossed as she walked back over to the Moonstone as it was sitting on a pillow.

"If anything, you got really annoying and started to irritate me." She let her arms go and curled up her fingers into a fist.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner? I could have given you a break." He asked, heading over making a hand gesture.

He wanted to place his hand on her shoulder to comfort her but thought it was not the best time, so he stopped himself from doing so. There was a cold silence between them now. It is an unsettling one. Not a silence that brings them both comfort. He watched her as he could just feel the heat of her anger.

"Meri, look I…"

He was cut off with a yell of frustration. He stepped back and chuckled, not used to seeing her so frustrated. The fairy kicked the round object without a thought which was quite a rough impact. She shrieked and yelped in pain as she hopped over to her bed and sat down. Flynn gasped and flew over to her.

"Are you okay there?' He asked, slowly approaching her.

She looked up at him and shook her head as her eyes seemed to become watery. Flynn's face softens. He was just about to speak but another sudden crash startled them. They look at each other and froze. Just thinking what else could break. The already broken pieces again. Or could it be? No, it couldn't. The two slowly turned to the open compass.

Meri wiped her eyes and flew quickly, and closed up the compass. She looked down and gasped at the broken pieces of the Moonstone. The fairy reached out to touch a piece but was stopped by a hand.

"Hey, that's sharp. Be careful." He said softly and let go of her hand.

At this point, she was just too overwhelmed to stay mad anymore. She sank to her knees and placed her hands on her face. Flynn sighed softly and reached out to wrap his arms around her.

"Everything will be okay, alright? We're both to blame here." Flynn gently rubbed her back to help with the pain.
