Chapter 2
Flynn went out to get some type of glue. It was sticky enough for leaves, but no one knew if it was sticky enough for glass. He rushed back and opened the door seeing her placed behind a big magnifying glass.
"Great, I got the glue." He closed the door behind him and went over.
Meri sighed, "Now, let's put it together."
She started putting the first few pieces together, wanting to make sure it was secure enough to keep steady. Then Meri started to let Flynn help. It did make things go by faster, though the silence was starting to become unbearable for Flynn. He did not know how she felt. He assumed she was too focused.
"Oh, did you hear FairyTail Theater is tonight? Maybe we should take a break since you seemed stressed?" He looked up at her as she was just about to place the last piece in.
Meri gasped as it fit right in its spot. She gently tapped it and let go hoping for it to stay. Sadly it shattered back to its original broken pieces... She groaned and let her head fall to the table. Flynn sighed and patted her red-colored hair. As his fingers touched her soft hair he couldn't help but notice how silky and smooth it was. Slowly she lifted it back up as he pulled away.
"Flynn, we have four full days." She glared at him, concerned about how much time they had left.
He nods, "I know. We won't get many chances for a break, so we should take this one."
Meri thought about it for a while and finally gave in. Flynn was happy she made a good decision, She stood up as he reached out for his bag before they left her home for FairyTail Theater.
Once they arrived the place seemed pretty crowded with other fairy's waiting for the show to begin. Terence was there by himself. Flynn spotted him and waved. Before heading over he took Meri's wrist, dragging her with him as Meri was about to say hello to Fawn but she was interrupted by Flynn.
"Hey, that was rude. You didn't let me say hello to Fawn."
Flynn elbowed her as she noticed Terence was right in front of her. Her cheeks flushed to light pink.
"Oh, Hi!" She said and in a quite loud enough voice waving, "Sorry about that, heh." She rubbed her neck in embarrassment.
Flynn shook his head. He's got to admit that he feels a bit jealous. She only talks like that when she is nervous around someone. So Flynn is definitely not happy with this.
"So, how is the scepter coming along?" Terence asked Meri, offering them to sit down with him.
Instantly she took the set right next to the dust talent fairy. Flynn gave her a harsh glance before grumpily taking a set next to her. For some reason, he started to feel like a third wheel once they started talking. He did not like it, not one bit. He started to zone out as they chattered about things. Though another fairy's voice caught his attention and looked up. The brunette walked over and waved.
"Hey, Flynn." Glissandra smiled.
"Hey, it's been a while." He smiled back.
She nods, "Yes I heard you were helping Meri with the scepter?" She asked.
"Yeah, I have." He glared over at her. Flynn let out a sigh and made a motion for her to take a seat.
She grinned, thanking him, and sat down. Glissandra noticed he was feeling a bit down. Once she pieced the puzzle together, she let out a sigh shaking her head.
"You should tell her how you feel. It's always best." She smiles softly.
In reaction, his cheeks flushed quite deeply. He shook his head, "I- I…."
He was cut off from the orchestra playing soft music signaling that the show was about to start. The lights dimmed, hiding his fairly red face. Glissandra couldn't help but chuckle at him. Meri looked over to see Flynn talking to another light fairy. She noticed who it was. Meri glared at her long enough then shook her head and let her eyes flow over to the play in front of her. Flynn noticed her glare. He assumed she was now jealous. Oh, how it was the perfect payback.
Everything was done very well. The amount of pixie dust, fall leaves. A fairy appearing after the fallen leaves. Quite colorful. The performer fairy started to describe how a pirate ship arrived in Neverland long ago seeking the greatest and most elusive prize of all; A fairy. The performer's tale was done with pixie dust as she was able to form perfect pictures of the human pirates and then the female fairy was forced to lead them to the most magical treasure of all. The enchanted Mirror of Incanta. She then started to explain how the mirror was able to grant three wishes but before the pirates could use the final wish the ship was wrecked on an island north past Neverland.
This instantly caught his attention. He scrambled in the bag he brought and took out a notebook. Sure it was dark but the display bought enough light for him to take notes. Glissandra looked over to Flynn noticing what he was doing.
She whispered in his ear, "Don't tell me you're gonna use that wish for her to fall for you." Glissandra teased.
Instantly he stiffened as his cheeks burnt leaving a crimson shade of blush. That was a good idea but he needed that wish (or more so Meri) to put the moonstone back together. Only Glissandra couldn't know that. He let out a sigh, "Yes, I- I mean I will use it for something else."
She hummed, "Like what? Also, do you plan to go by yourself?"
He hushed her, wanting to listen to the performance to write down any information that was needed. "Arch of stone." He repeated to himself and wrote it down. Glissandra shook her head and gazed her attention to the fairy performer. Meri slowly looked over at Flynn watching him write down things in his notebook.
"Are you thinking what I am thinking?" She asked, leaning over.
Flynn nods, not giving her any more attention. Once he wrote down every bit of information they needed he shut his book and placed everything in his bag. Soon the play ended and everyone cheered. The lights slowly turned back on as everyone began to stand up and chatter. Meri asked Terence if he would have some time for them to get to know each other better.
"Come on let's get going-"
"I'm usually bust at the dust depot or helping Tink. I wouldn't mind eating dinner with you sometime after the revelry." Terence offered.
Flynn's mouth hung open. He scuffled annoyedly and took Glissandra by the wrist. "Let's go."
"Oh? Where are we heading to?" She followed behind.
Once they flew away enough he realized heading to Meri's home was a bad idea since she would see both of the bokeh pieces of the moonstone and scepter. He sighed and turned to her. "Look you can not tell anyone Meri and I plan to leave. We or I broke something important and need to fix it."
She gasped, "It's not the moonstone is it?"
Flynn shook his head, "Of course not. It's more so the scepter." Well, he didn't really lie.
She crossed her arms, "Well having more fairy's to help put it together will make it go by faster instead of going through all that trouble."
"Hey, Flynn!" They were interrupted by Meri calling to him.
Flynn rolled his eyes, not amused by her.
Meri went up to the two. "Did you get the notes down?" She asked, reaching over to his bag.
He yanked it away from her causing her to be startled. He let out a heavy sigh, "Why don't you go with your new boyfriend instead?" He said quite harshly. He didn't really mean it. He was just annoyed with her now.
"What?" Her cheeks flushed lightly, "Terrence is not my boyfriend… yet." She chuckled.
He scoffed and flew away. "What, hey! I thought we were going together? Ugh, what's up with him?" Meri looked over to Glissandra.
She smiled weekly, "Shouldn't you know? He is jealous of you and Terrence."
Jealous? Why would he be jealous? Meri shook it off and thanked her before trying to catch up with him. Lately, she has noticed him acting quite strange. The type of strange like when she gets nervous around Terrence. Only it's not quite different.
She ended up finding him in a cotton field. Sitting on top of one of the soft cloud-like shaped. He looked rather depressed. Slowly she flew over to him, "Is this seat taken?" Meri asked softly.
Flynn shrugged. She let out a breath and sat down swiftly. There was silence between the two for a bit.
"You don't plan to go alone, do you? It's me who needs to make the wish." She placed her hands on her cheek to rest.
"And? What if I do? And what if I do happen to bring Glessandra along too?" He crossed his arms giving her a harsh glare.
"Gle… why her? It's me who needs to make the wish!" She points at herself repeating herself.
"See? That's how I feel when Terrence asked you out." He looked away from her, "Oh, I should let you know. He is only asking you out in kind. He is really into Tinker Bell instead."
This made her wings slowly drop in sadness, "Oh?"
He nods, "Yep! I even see Fairy Gary tease him about her when I stop by."
She looked away from him and let out a sigh. That made her feel hopeless. It just was a crush after all. Meri only liked him for his looks. She did not know very much of him anyhow. So that dream shattered quite quickly.
"So you like Glessandra then?" She asked.
He stiffened and shook his head, "No! Not like that. There is, well. Nevermind." He decided not to tell her he liked someone else. Being that someone else was her. He thought it was too soon to do that. Even if he was frustrated with his feelings.
She closed her eyes and decided not to pray more into it. Flynn flew up and went over to kick some of the cottons out of anger. She could defiantly hear that he is frustrated but didn't bother to ask why. If anything she has an idea as to why. Though she did not want to face it yet.
"Darn!" he exclaimed as the cotton started to fly. He hummed noticing. A trail of pixie dust floated into the sky as the cotton flew with the wind. "Hey, I got an idea."
Meri, at last, let her eyes flutter open as she looked up to see the floating cotton.
