One night in Unikingdom, Unikitty was watching TV while eating popcorn, Pet Pet sitting right next to her, "We now return to tonight's creature feature presentation of 'The Return of the Robot.'" the TV announcer said. The scene currently playing depicted an minifigure running from a generic-looking robot while screaming.
"Isn't this robot movie great Pet Pet?" Unikitty asked.
"Pet Pet."
"What you mean I shouldn't be watching this? Scary movies don't freak me out." Unikitty said. Later that night, Unikitty was lying awake in bed while shivering in fear, "What if Mom was a robot? What if Dunklecorn's a robot? What if Pet Pet's a robot?" she asked herself as she looked towards Pet Pet, who was just sitting on her nightstand. She carefully reached a paw over to him, eventually poking him on the head, "Pet Pet?"
"Pet Pet."
"Pet Pet, if you were a robot you'd tell me right?" Unikitty asked.
"Pet Pet."
"Well, glad I got that taken care of. Now for a good night's sleep." Unikitty said before yawning and falling asleep. Her dreams consisted of the scene she watched during the movie, only she was in the place of the minifigure being chased by the robot, screaming as she did so.
The next morning, Unikitty was standing at the stove making pancakes in her tired form. The coffee maker right next to her beeped, causing her to throw her hands in the air, "I surrender!" she shouted before realizing that it was just the coffee being ready.
"Good morning Princess." Richard said while floating into the kitchen, causing Unikitty to shout again while tossing an pancake in his face.
"Oh, sorry Richard." Unikitty said while peeling the pancake off Richard's face and putting it on a plate.
"It's fine, I believe that's my breakfast?" Richard asked.
"Yep, plain with nothing on it, just the way you like it. Sorry Richard, I'm kinda nervous today. Last night I watched a movie about robots taking over the world. So, now I actually do think there're robots trying to take over the world, crazy huh?" Unikitty asked.
"I'd say it is." Richard said before taking his breakfast and floating off.
Meanwhile, Dr. Fox was in her lab, preparing to begin a project, "Alright, time for my splice ray to officially enter development. But first, some tunes." she said before turning on a small portable radio on her desk.
"Good morning Unikingdom, let us start off your day with a new hit, it's 'Electric Zoo.'" The radio DJ said before the radio started playing a techno tune.
"Hey, not bad. Bee-bee-boo-bop, bee-bee-boo-beep. I could definitely get behind this." Dr. Fox said, working on her device while singing along to the song.
Back in the kitchen, Unikitty was still making pancakes when FeeBee appeared in the window, "Hey, Unikitty." she greeted, causing Unikitty to shout and fling a pancake into her face by accident.
"Whoops, sorry FeeBee." she said while taking the pancake off her.
"It's fine, I was just looking to borrow some mulch?" FeeBee asked.
"Oh, sure. Here." Unikitty said while handing her a bag of mulch, "Uh, FeeBee? You're not a robot are you?" she asked afterwards.
"Uh... no." FeeBee said.
"Well keep your eyes peeled, they're everywhere." Unikitty whispered before grabbing a stack of pancakes, "Better get Dr. Fox her breakfast!" she said before walking off. FeeBee just shrugged and left.
Unikitty took the lift down to Dr. Fox's lab and was about to enter through the main passage, "I feel completely recharged!" she heard her say, causing her to hide and spy on her from around a corner. She Dr. Fox holding up her radio, "Come on little buddy, play it again. Please? One more time. For me." she said.
"That's weird, I thought I just saw Dr. Fox talking to her radio, and she said she feels 'recharged.' Could that possibly mean that she's... a robot? Nah." Unikitty said to herself.
Dr. Fox was now talking on the phone with the DJ of the station she was listening too, who was Beatsy, "Yes, I would like you to play that song again." Dr. Fox said.
"Which one?" Beatsy asked.
"The one that goes: bee-boo-boo-bop, boo-boo-beep." Dr. Fox explained.
"No, I believe you're thinking of: bee-boo-boo-bop, boo-boo-bop." Beatsy said.
Unikitty stared at Dr. Fox in bewilderment as she just kept making noises trying to figure out the song, "Bee-boo-boo, boo-boo-bop? Bee-boo-boo-bop? Boo-boo-bee-bop? Not "bee-boo-boo-beep"? Bop? Beep? Boo-boo-bop!" Dr. Fox said.
Unikitty gasps in fear before hiding again, "What is going on? Why is Dr. Fox making all those beeping sounds? Could it really mean that she's... a robot? Nah." she said before peering around the corner again. Her eyes widened in shock when she saw Dr. Fox dancing to the beat of the song, moving a lot like robot. Unikitty ran to Richard, who was dusting in the halls. She jumped on him while saying, "Richard! Dr. Fox! Talking to radio! Beeping sounds! Weird dancing! Robot!"
"Princess, I think you must've had a bit too much sugary syrup on your pancakes." Richard said while taking Unikitty to her room, "Why don't you take a little nap and you'll feel better." he then put Unikitty in her room and shut the door.
She then reappeared right next to him, "No really! I am totally convinced that she has been replaced by a mechanical replicant!" she said while pulling him to the living room.
"But, you were just-" Richard started to say before he was pulled away.
They eventually reached the living room, "OK, there are few ways we prove whether she is a robot or not. First off, robots can't express laughter." Unikitty said.
"Princess, I think we should-" Richard started before Unikitty interrupted him by calling Dr. Fox on an intercom system.
"Hey, Dr. Fox!" she called.
Dr. Fox took the lift up, "What is it?" she asked.
"Uh, Richard told me this funny joke just now. What was it Richard?" Unikitty asked.
"Um, yes uh... Knock knock." Richard began.
"Who's there?" Dr. Fox asked.
"Noah."
"Noah who?"
"Noah I can find a better joke than this one?" Richard said, chuckling a little as he finished.
Dr. Fox just looked at him blankly, "Richard, maybe you might want to take some notes from Unikitty on how to tell a joke. But still, good effort." she said before walking back to the lab.
"Did you see that Richard? Not even chuckle." Unikitty said.
"Princess, you know my sense of humor isn't the best. If you told her a joke instead, I bet she would've been laughing until she cried." Richard.
"That's another thing, robot's can't cry." Unikitty said.
"Princess, will you please-"
"Hey, Dr. Fox!" Unikitty called.
"What? What is it?" Dr. Fox asked, coming back from the lab.
"Richard's father... never hugged him. Isn't that sad!?" Unikitty asked, turning into Sad Kitty.
"Well, on an emotional standpoint, that is sad. But technically speaking, Richard's father couldn't have been able to hug him due to a lack of arms. At best he could've given him a light nuzzling." Dr. Fox said before walking back to the lab.
"See Richard? Not a single tear shed." Unikitty said.
"Princess, now you're just being ridiculous. I'll have you know that my father hugged me just as any other father who loved his child." Richard said, slightly offended.
"That's another thing! Robot's can't love." Unikitty said.
"Princess, maybe we should-"
"Hey, Dr. Fox!" Unikitty called.
"What!? What is it this time!?" Dr. Fox said, starting to get annoyed.
"Richard just wanted to tell you that he loves you!" Unikitty said, shoving Richard in front of Dr. Fox.
Dr. Fox just stared at him before saying, "Richard, please, get a life." before walking back to the lab.
"It's worse than I thought." Unikitty said.
Back in the lab, Dr. Fox was working on her machine while listening to the song on the radio. Suddenly, the song slowed down before the radio fizzled out, "Aw, my radio died." Dr. Fox said before taking out the batteries, "Good thing I stitched on my new battery recharging pocket onto my lab coat." she said before sticking the batteries into a pocket on her lab coat, causing it to glow green. At that moment, a steaming pot made a 'ding' sound, "Oh, my hard boiled egg is ready!" Dr. Fox said before taking some tongs and taking out a single egg from the pot, "And what is a good hard boiled egg, without a little salt?" she said while holding up a salt shaker.
"Hey, Dr. Fox!" Unikitty called out suddenly, making Dr. Fox throw up the salt shaker in surprise, causing to spill onto her eyes and cause them to turn red.
"Ah! My eyes!" she shouted in pain.
"Dr. Fo-" Unikitty tried to call out before being shushed by Richard.
"Princess! Before you humiliate me again, why don't we take a step back and assess the situation. What did that robot in the movie look like?" he asked.
"Well, they had glowing red eyes, large pincers for hands, and they ran out of batteries." Unikitty explained.
"OK, let me ask you this now: does Dr. Fox look anything like that?" Richard asked, right before Dr. Fox ascended from the lift while screaming in pain. Her eyes were burning red, the tongs were still in her hand, and the batteries were still in her pocket. Richard and Unikitty screamed in fear before hiding behind the couch while Dr. Fox ran into the kitchen, still screaming. "Princess, I'm sorry I didn't believe you." Richard said.
"That's OK Richard. Right now we need to warn everyone." Unikitty said.
"Good idea, you call for help and I'll warn the citizens." Richard said, causing Unikitty to nod and fly over to the phone before picking it up.
"Hello operator? Get me the navy!" she said.
"Hello, you have reached the navy's automated phone service." the voice on the other said.
"Richard! The robots have taken over the navy!" Unikitty shouted while dropping the phone.
"Not the navy!" Richard shouted before speaking into an intercom system that was broadcast throughout the whole kingdom via speakers, "Listen everyone, run for your lives! Robots have taken over the world!" he said. The citizens just stared at the speakers in silence, "Our world!" Richard said, causing the citizens to scream and flee in all directions. "OK, that should buy them some time." Richard said while joining Unikitty behind the couch.
"Ah, that's better." Dr. Fox said when coming out from the kitchen, her eyes were back to normal. She then walked back to lab, singing the song while Richard and Unikitty spied on her. They then hid back behind the couch.
"What are we going to do Princess?" Richard asked.
"I don't know. Hey, my coloring book." Unikitty said, taking out a coloring book from under the couch.
"Princess."
"Sorry."
"Alright, you seem to know more about the robots than I do. That movie you watched, how were they stopped?" Richard asked.
"Well, there was this resistance group who planned to fight back against the robots, but they didn't have enough info on them. So, they captured one of the robot's top lieutenants and they got the poop on the robot." Unikitty explained.
"They poop on the robot? I can't believe I'm saying this, but Princess, let's get that poop!" Richard said before he and Unikitty starting reading a book on torture methods. They then got the necessary components they needed, including a length of rope, a bat, and some poison.
Dr. Fox was busy putting the finishing touches on her machine when she heard the lift behind her. She turned around and saw Unikitty and Richard glaring at her, "Oh, hey guys. What brings you here? Why'd you jam the lift? What are you doing with that rope? Who's watching Puppycorn!?" Dr. Fox asked. A series of fight noises could be heard from outside the castle, the result was Dr. Fox being tied up in a chair, "Unikitty, Richard, what's going on!?" Dr. Fox asked in fear.
"Shut up!" Richard said before slapping her across the face with a glove.
"Ow! What was that for?" Dr. Fox asked.
"I said shut up you bucket of bolts!" Richard said while slapping her again, "You know exactly what we want to know. Where's Dr. Fox?" he asked.
"What are you talking about? I'm Dr. Fox!"
Richard slapped her again, "This can go on all day."
"I can't take it!" Unikitty said, turning into Sad Kitty and flying away.
Richard found her weeping in a corner, "Princess, what's wrong?"
"Richard, you really shouldn't slap Dr. Fox when she's defenseless like that. It's just not right." Unikitty said.
"Princess, that's not Dr. Fox. That Robot Fox." Richard said while looking towards Dr. Fox, who was struggling to get out of her bindings, "We need to get that info out her by any means possible."
"Got it." Unikitty said before taking Richard's glove and walking up to her. She then slapped her with it.
"Princess, you're supposed to ask her a question first." Richard said.
"Oh yeah. What's my favorite color?" Unikitty asked before slapping Dr. Fox again.
"Here, let me show you." Richard said before pulling in a lamp and turning it on towards Dr. Fox, "Where's Dr. Fox?"
"I'm Dr. Fox!"
"Where's Dr. Fox?" asked Unikitty.
"I'm Dr. Fox!"
"Where's Dr. Fox?"
"I'm Dr. Fox!"
"Where is Dr. Fox?"
"I am Dr. Fox! I am, I am, I am!" Dr. Fox repeated in frustration.
"This is one stubborn robot." Unikitty said.
"WHAT!? YOU THINK I'M A ROBOT!?" Dr. Fox shouted.
"I don't think she's gonna break any time soon." Richard said.
"Don't worry, I got an idea. Keep an eye on her Richard, make sure she doesn't try any of her robot tricks." Unikitty said before walking away. Richard stared at Dr. Fox suspiciously while she got a nervous look on her face. Unikitty eventually came back, "If Robot Fox won't tell us where Dr. Fox is, maybe one of her little robot friends will." Unikitty said while holding up a waffle iron.
"Princess, that's a waffle iron." Richard said.
"Yeah, well I saw Dr. Fox talking to her radio earlier. She called her 'little buddy.'" Unikitty explained.
"You're going to interrogate my waffle iron? You're crazy." Dr. Fox said.
Unikitty placed the waffle iron on a table, "Oh, don't worry. We have our methods." Richard said while taking out a bat.
"No! Not my waffle iron!" Dr. Fox said.
"Where's Dr. Fox?" Richard asked. The waffle iron just stood there, "Not talking, eh?" Richard said before bringing the bat down on the waffle iron, breaking it to pieces.
"No! That cost me $22 worth in parts to refurbish!" Dr. Fox shouted.
"Richard, I don't think it knew anything." Unikitty said.
"Go get the hair dryer." Richard said, prompting Unikitty to get it and place it on the table.
"I need that for paint drying purposes!" Dr. Fox said. Richard smashed it and Unikitty put a star projector on the table, "I won that in a science fair!" Dr. Fox said before Richard smashed it as well. Unikitty then put a curling iron on the table, "That... Actually that was a gift." Dr. Fox said before Richard smashed it, "Noooooo!" Dr. Fox shouted.
"Here are the last robots Richard." Unikitty said, putting two of Dr. Fox's robot helpers onto the table.
"No! Not my assistants! I built them myself. I made them out of some scrap parts from the junkyard!" Dr. Fox said, tearing up before crying.
"Princess, I thought you said robots couldn't cry." Richard said.
"Well, she's not showing signs of love." Unikitty said.
"I loved them as if they were my own." Dr. Fox said, tears flowing from her eyes.
Richard simply stared at Unikitty, "Well, she's certainly not laughing." she said.
"I remember all the laughs we had." Dr. Fox said.
"Princess, how exactly did that movie of yours end?" Richard asked.
"The ending? Oh yeah! The ending was the best part! Turns out there weren't any robots after all. It was just their... imagination." Unikitty said, coming to a realization. "Oh look, time to walk Puppycorn!" she said while looking at an invisible watch and flying away.
Richard gave a nervous smile towards Dr. Fox as he grabbed a broom and started sweeping the mess he made while she glared at him. "RICHAAARRRD!"
