Makoto woke up with a headache. His vision was blurry and he couldn't think straight. He felt too weak to open his mouth and say something, though he tried. He looked around the room, the motion blur due to his poor eyesight almost made him sick. 'What the hell is happening?' He thought.
"What the hell is this?!" Makoto heard someone cry out. They sounded like they were in a much better state than him. He tried call out a response, but nothing came out. He sighed.
"The fuck?!" He heard another say. He was confused, scared- where the hell was he? His vision became cleared. 'A gym? Why am I in a gym?' He tried to stand up, but he soon found out that he tied to a chair. He tried to wiggle his way out of the restraints, but it didn't work. 'I'm gonna die,' He thought. 'I'm gonna die.'
Suddenly, a loud speaker came on, which awoke everyone in the room.
The TV mounted onto the wall turned on, nothing but a monochrome bear appeared on the flat screen. "Rise and shine!" The bear said. "You're all probably wondering where you are, which I understand. I mean, you're tied to a chair afterall!" The bear laughed, then cleared it's throat. "Anywhooo.. I'm gonna make this quick- I ain't got all day and stuff!"
'Make this quick? What does that mean?'
"You all were specially chosen to be apart of this exceptional school, feel special! I mean, that's hard to achieve, soooo many pupils tried their best to get accepted, and we chose you! Anywaaays, I'll get to the point. 'Twas a clever ruse! There's no way I'll let graduate all nitty-gritty, you gotta earn it! Earn it how, you ask? Murder, of course!"
Everyone in the room gasped. "You can't be serious!" A girl exclaimed. "Serious, it is, serious, it will!" It snickered. "I don't care how you do it, just get it done!"
"I.. I don't understand," One said. "What is there not to understand?" The bear questioned. "How is this right?! This can't be legal!"
"Yeah!" Another agreed, "Someone's gotta be looking for us by now!" This almost made the bear roll over laughing, "Best joke I've heard in years!" Makoto overheard one peraon cry, he felt like crying himself.
Then, the TV shut off. The restraints suddenly became undone, and everyone began panicking- well, mostly everyone.
"Well, this certainly is peculiar, I'm not quite sure what to do," A tall, pale girl with black hair tied back in twin tails and wearing a black lace dress said. "You don't say!" A fairly tanned girl wearing a red jacket and a pair of shorts replied.
"What is going on..? I don't want to be here.." A short girl with shoulder-length brown hair and a green dress said- she looked like she had been crying. "Hey! Cheer up!" The tanned girl said. "Let's all introduce ourselves, maybe trusting each other will help us find a way out!" The blonde boy scoffed, "Please."
The girl ignored him, "We'll do an ice breaker! We'll go around the room, saying our names, pronouns, and.. Uh.. oh, yeah! Our Ultimates!" Makoto frowned. 'I don't have an ultimate.."
"I'll start off! I'm Aoi Asahina, Ultimate Swimmer! She/her!" She chirped. "Uh.. you!" She pointed at a huge, buff girl with white hair that nearly touched her knees. "Sakura Ogami, Ultimate Martial Artist. She/her." Ali clapped her hands, "Great! Now, you!"
"Um.. T-Toko Fukawa.. U-Ultimate Writer.. She/her.." She stuttered. Toko had long, purple hair that was tied into braids. There was boy, almost identical in appearance standing beside her. "Name's Genocider Jack, Ultimate Serial Killer, he/him."
"Ultimate Serial Killer..?" Sayaka questioned. Toko sighed, "It's true." Sayaka and a few others looked uneasy, but didn't say anything. The black haired girl was next. "Celestia Ludenberg, Ultimate Gambler. She/her."
Soon after, everyone introduced themselves. "Well.. now since that's done," A boy named Leon said, "Can we try to like, get out or something?"
"No use," Sakura informed. "Tried everything, punching, kicking, tearing.. nothing worked." Junko sighed, "Well, damn. We're stuck here for good."
Celestia laughed, "Don't say such things. We will eventually find an exit." Junko titled her head and raised an eyebrow, "How exactly?" "Teamwork, of course." The gambler replied.
"Yeah.. but, guy's there's something we're ignoring." Chihiro timidly said. Everyone turned to face her. "The murder part.. what if someone's willing to murder to get out of this place?" Toko sighed and shook her head, "I-I.. I hope none is willing." "Someone's gotta be," Mondo added. Kiyotaka glared at him, "Do not suggest such nonsense!" They thundered.
Mondo rolled his eyes, "Stop being stupid, there's at least one person in this room who's that desperate." Kiyotaka frowned, "As the Ultimate Moral Compass, I will make sure that no such things happen!"
"Oh, please. There is absolutely nothing you can do about it," Byakuya commented. "Do not doubt me!" They replied. "Sure kid," Mondo laughed. "Stop it!" Kirigiri demanded. The room became quiet.
"We were kidnapped- focus more on that and less on petty arguments!" Mondo pouted, "Whatever." Kirigiri looked at Kiyotaka, "Be careful," She whispered, leaving them confused.
"The door's unlocked!" Leon cried. Aoi looked skeptical, "It was locked, like five minutes ago?" Leon pushed the door open to everyone's shock, "Yeah, I know, but it's unlocked now."
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Jack asked impatiently. A few people shrugged, then a handful left the gym, along with Makoto. "What just happened.." He wondered aloud. The whole thing just felt like a fever dream of some kind. A shaken Sayaka stood beside Makoto, dried tears molded onto her face. "I.." She hugged herself. "This can't be.." She mumbled. "I'm sorry, but is," Celestia said, patting the girl's back. Sayaka began to cry and covered ears, "No, no!" She shook her head wildly as tears began to fly out.
"Sayaka, calm down!" Makoto cried. Sayaka glared at him, "Don't tell me to call down! Did you hear the bear?! We're all gonna die!" The boy frowned, "No, we're not! I promise!"
"Liar!" Sayaka yelled. She ran off somewhere, without saying another word. "Sayaka!" Makoto tried to run after her, but she was nowhere in sight. Celestia sighed, "I will search for her." Makoto smiled, "Thanks, Celeste."
