Regina played with her butterfly knife while she waited for her boss to give her a new job.
There was still blood on her clothes, since she just killed Gabrielle Langdom. A person who, according to Regina, didn't deserve to die. But money was money and she needed it. She also loved her job. It sounded cruel, but she loved to kill. She loved to take revenge for others, since she couldn't do it for herself.
"Mills!" Mr. Gold yelled. Regina jumped from the blue plastic chair and hurried to his office.
The walls were made of wood and behind the desk were shelves filled with books and trinkets from Gold's kills.
"You called for me, sir." Regina said and looked him right in the eyes. She knew he wasn't used to it. Everyone here was an assassin, but they all feared Gold. Except Regina. Regina was the only one who didn't lower her head when he talked or stopped talking when he passed by.
"I did. And for the love of the gods, clean your dress before you come to the office! People already look at you like you're the cruelest of all." Gold yelled. He was clearly not in a good mood.
"But, with all due respect, I am the cruelest." Regina argued.
"You are, Regina. You're incapable of feeling love, you don't feel bad for anyone, laugh when one of your colleagues dies while doing a job, that's what makes you cruel. Not the blood on your dress or the fact that you carry knives everywhere."
Regina wanted to stab Gold so badly now. She was capable of loving, she did once. And her heart died with him. She didn't feel bad for anyone, because it was a waste of her time. They didn't deserve her compassion. They weren't there for her, so why should she be there for them? and only dumb assassins got themselves killed.
"Why did you call me here, sir?" Regina changed the subject.
"Right." Gold opened his desk and grabbed a file.
Robin "hood" Locksley stood in big fat letters on the front.
Regina recognized the name. He was a business man, very succesful but never showed his faced. He was always hooded on camera, but people who saw his face said he could make a woman fall for him in just a second. But Regina doubted that.
"Robin Locksley." Gold stated, "By the look on your face, you know who he is."
"I do. How much?" Regina asked excited. This job would be a long one, spectacular and with a bit of drama, she hoped.
"5 million."
Regina laughed. Someone really wanted him dead. She always thought he didn't play by the rules and this was only proof.
"And ten precent's yours."
"Double it and I'll do it." the offer Gold gave her was a generous one, but she knew she was in the position to ask for more. This time she was and they both knew it.
"15."
"I said 20."
"Then I'll ask another. They'd be happy with half a million." Gold slammed his fist on the table.
"But you won't."
"And why is that?" Gold sighed.
"Because I'm the only one who can do this job. You know most women fall for him and, like you said, I'm incapable of love. You also know a woman is more likely to get close to him. With a man it could take months and most clients want the target dead in less than a month." Regina explained and laughed by the sight of a defeated Mr. Gold.
"Fine. 20 precent. Now go kill him." Gold huffed.
Regina grabbed the file and walked out of his office.
She knew this would be one hell of a job and she loved it.
I hope you like it! This chapter is a bit short, but they'll be longer!
Have a great day (:
