Cellar
I swung my keys around my finger, the soft clattering abnormally loud in the strangely quiet castle. With so many heroes living in the Order, walking in any wing of the castle undisturbed was either a blessing or a reason for worry.
It was rather unfortunate for me that it happened to be the latter.
I gingerly picked my way around the rubble-strewn path cleared for me after Fafiner's assault as I made my way underground. Calling the littered floor in front of me a "path" was being a little generous, but the Order's rubble clearing efforts were still elsewhere in the castle, particularly on the main hall and barracks. After all, I assume it is probably better to take care of the troops before any prisoners.
Or who knows? Maybe that would lead to riots. I don't know any better.
Lukas stood patiently by the prison entrance, giving me a small smile as I approached. "Yo," I nodded back.
"You might want to put away your keys, Kiran," Lukas said politely. "Having you come down here is already risky enough." He lifted his spear off the wall, Daybreak Lance's point glinting in the afternoon sun.
Would have preferred a stronger unit for my 5-star pull, Kiran thought ruefully. He pocketed his keys and tapped Bredilbeck. Five golden stars glinted briefly above Lukas' head, before winking out of sight.
Cursed gatcha luck.
Nodding to Forsyth, I followed Lukas into the cells.
Much to my relief, the cells seemed to show no signs of being barreled through by rampaging mechs. The cells were oddly clean for a prison if still Spartan. Sullen faces glared at me from behind iron bars.
"We can be thankful that King Fafnir fell so quickly," Lukas said quietly. "Otherwise our cells may not have been so full." I shivered, remembering the bodies that were buried last time we weren't so lucky.
"Here's to hoping that they empty fast."
We stopped in front of an iron door guarded by Tharja. "He's awake," she nodded. "I double-checked our hexes, but try not to rile him too much, as hard as that may be for you to do. And that means no poking him if he doesn't notice you."
Lukas chuckled at my sudden nervous smile. "Your reputation is quite well known. I'll make sure he behaves."
I sighed good-naturedly, before gesturing to open the iron doors.
