It all started with Tokoyami.

Aizawa saw him curled up on one of the couches, as close to the lantern that Aizawa had managed to find, as he possibly could be. He hadn't noticed his teacher watching him, his attention on the small flickers of light that the lantern produced.

"Why aren't you in bed?" His student jumped at the sound of his voice, spinning around to face him, and Aizawa raised an eyebrow.

"Oh! Aizawa-sensei." Tokoyami swallowed nervously. "I...well, see, because of...Dark Shadow..."

Aizawa hummed, understanding in an instant. His student's Quirk gave him the ability to control a dark entity within him that got more powerful the darker it was. And right now, it was incredibly dark.

There had been a villain attack that had targeted the power station of Mustafu, which had rendered the majority of the city without electricity. Even UA, who was supposed to have backup generators.

Aizawa, as he was Class 1-A's teacher, was ordered to stay with the students, partially because they were magnets to villain attacks, he knew. He was itching to know what was going on, and had ordered the students to bed early, telling them that as always, there was nothing to worry about, and All Might would take care of everything.

However, right now Tokoyami was here, and he needed to deal with the student that was curled up in a blanket on the couch in the sitting area, and inching even closer to the lantern as Aizawa regarded him with narrowed eyes.

He could just send the kid back to bed, the tired larger half of him suggested.

The other said that it wouldn't hurt for Tokoyami to just stay there for a while. At least until the electricity and lights returned, which Aizawa hoped was soon.

"Look, just because it's you, and not Problem Child, I'll let you stay." Aizawa eventually said, ignoring the way that Tokoyami lit up. "But not a word of this to any of the students or you're back to your room, and cleaning the common room for the next three days. I would like some peace and quiet for once in my life."

"Yes Sensei! Thank you Sensei!' Tokoyami looked a lot more relieved, and Aizawa sighed, turning around to return to his office and finish grading papers.

It was barely ten minutes after that, that Tsu came.

She slunk over to the light, curling up on the couch opposite Tokoyami, not saying anything, and not noticing Aizawa watching her from his office door. Tokoyami, however, could practically taste the annoyance in the air, and he watched Aizawa out of the corner of his eye. Finally, Tsu noticed, and looked up, seeing her teacher.

"What is it now?"

"I couldn't sleep." Tsu mumbled. "I heard the attacks are near to my house. I'm worried about my parents."

Aizawa was about to snap that her staying awake and bothering him wasn't going to help the heroes save her parents, when he saw Ojiro and Koda peering around one of the walls. Aizawa squeezed his eyes shut, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"It wasn't me, Sensei." Tokoyami started to whisper, but Aizawa waved his hand, signalling for him to be quiet.

"No, whatever it doesn't even matter, all of 1-A can come for all I care-."

"What are you doing up so late?" Another voice interrupted him, coming from around the corner, and Aizawa sighed, going to see what that was all about.

"I could say the same thing to you, Kaminari!" Jiro snapped back.

"What do you two want?"

"Aizawa-sensei!" Both Jiro and Kaminari jumped, and Aizawa folded his arms, feigning interest in hearing their excuses.

"I was going to get some water." Jiro said, shooting Kaminari a look, "What about you, Denki?"

"Well I was-" Kaminari broke off as he saw the others sitting around the couch. "Hey! What are you guys doing there?"

Completely forgetting that he was talking to Jiro and Aizawa, Kaminari walked over and sat down in between Tokoyami and Ojiro on the couch, and Aizawa glanced back at Jiro, his face expectant. "Oh just go, it doesn't even matter."

Jiro hurried over to Tsu's side, and the two girls started talking in hushed tones. Aizawa didn't even get a chance to turn away before he heard more feet pattering down the hallway and towards them.

"Sensei?"

"Hey! Kirishima! Sero, over here!" Kaminari waved and the two boys that had just arrived broke into excited smiles

"Don't-! Ugh, never mind!" Aizawa turned to leave, giving up on even trying to keep the students in line, as they had clearly given up on listening to him.

"I'm going to get Mineta, no one should be left out!" Kaminari exclaimed, jumping up and heading for the elevator.

Why would you bring Mineta? Aizawa wondered to the universe, but he also knew there was no point in arguing with Kaminari of all people, so he merely sighed as Kirishima and Sero went to sit down on the couch.

"What's all this noise?" Momo Yaoyurozo asked, rubbing her eyes, while Uranka peeked around her friend at the rest of the students. He also caught sight of Ashido and Hagakure amongst them, peering over Momo's shoulder to see what was going on.

"What are you guys doing up?"

"Well none of us could sleep." Hagakure explained as they made their way over. "So we decided we'd have a sleepover in one of our rooms, but we couldn't find Tsu and Jiro."

"This will be more fun anyways!" Uranaka cheered, finding an empty seat in the rapidly filling up sitting area. Yaoyurozu used her quirk to create a blanket for her friends, and the girls sat around Tsu, quickly picking up on her sad demeanor, and comforting her.

Kaminari appeared again, this time with both Mineta, Shouta, Shouji and Aoyama in tow, and the sitting area immediately got a lot louder.

Maybe he should just expel all of them right now…

Maybe he should quit and leave them with some other poor soul.

"Everyone!" A booming voice made Aizawa look up, seeing Tenya Iida standing in the entrance, his matching set of striped pyjamas and nightcap doing nothing to sway the authoritative voice he quickly took on. "Aizawa-sensei instructed us to go to bed! Why are you all still awake? As Class Representative, I can not allow for you to do this!"

"Relax Iida." Ashido said, waving her hand from where she sat curled up between Kaminari and Uranka. "It's alright, Aizawa-Sensei said we could."

"I only said that Tsu and Tokayami could." Aizawa muttered, because he knew no one else was listening. "You all came on your own accord."

"Just come and join us!" Kirishima called Iida. "And you too, Todoroki!" Ashido added loudly. "I saw you walk past! Everyone's joining."

Iida looked torn, and Todoroki reappeared again, holding a glass of water. After some hesitation, they joined as well, and the group had only grown larger.

"I'm tired." He heard Aoyama complain to Shouji. "I need my beauty sleep you know."

"You can all go back to sleep, you know." Aizawa growled. "It is school tomorrow, remember?"

"I couldn't sleep even if I wanted to!" Mina cried dramatically. "I'm too anxious to hear what happens with the villain attack!"

"Let's tell ghost stories! That will keep us awake."

"No, Kaminari, you are not telling ghost stories." Aizawa didn't turn around as he snapped a warning to his student, and Kaminari sighed, throwing his head back as he flopped onto the couch. "Well then what can we do?"

"Go to bed?"

"Guys? What are you all doing awake?" Deku's sleepy voice interrupted them, and Aizawa turned around, seeing the boy standing in the entrance, wearing an All Might onesie and holding a red, blue and white blanket around himself.

"Come join us Midoriya!" Mineta called, while Kirishima added. "Aizawa-sensei said we could all have a sleepover in the common room while we wait for the power to get back."

"When did I ever say that?" Aizawa mumbled, but didn't complain further as Ochaco invited him to join them. Nearly all of the class was already there, it wouldn't hurt any more if an extra one joined them.

Plus, if Deku was here, and under his eye he wouldn't be able to find a way to get himself involved in another villain attack.

Aizawa perched on the edge of the couch, behind Iida and Tokoyami, watching as the kids curled up, starting to quiet down, as their exhaustion finally got the better of him. Sometimes he almost forgot that they were just teenagers after all.

"Aizawa-sensei, will you tell us a story?"

"No."

"It was worth a try." Ashido muttered under her breath, her bright eyes starting to flutter shut.

Aizawa had nearly drifted off himself when his keenly trained ears caught the sound of someone else approaching. He lifted his head, seeing the last of his students standing in front of them.

It was Bakugo, wrapped up in an All Might blanket, same as Midoriya, and staring in shock at the majority of the class gathered around in the sitting room section of their common room. "What are you extras doing?"

Aizawa was too tired to even roll his eyes, and instead held up his hand, beckoning Bakugo to come to them. Like there was any point in bothering to complain. Any hopes of getting work done, be it planning schoolwork, or grading papers or answering emails, was lost. At least the kids were safe, and felt it too. He was sure that the constant villain attacks and other incredibly traumatic attacks that had bewitched the students got the best of them at some points. It should did for him.

Bakugo took the longest to give in, prowling around like a weary animal before he seemed to gain enough trust to squish in between Kirishima and Midoriya, grumbling under his breath as if he was being forced to be there.

The whole class was now there.

The few whispers of conversation that were left drifted out soon enough, and most of the children fell asleep, Midoriya resting his head on Bakugo's shoulder as they slipped further and further into unconsciousness.

Aziawa watched them in the dim light of the lantern that Tokoyami had put on the table, an expression of fondness that he wouldn't often let show when the students were waking, lest they get the impression that he cared, on his face. It was rare that they were so calm, and so quiet, and Aizawa basked in the small treasured moment, before he too, drifted away to the warm embrace of sleep.

Bonus:

That next morning, Aizawa awoke to find himself covered with two All Might blankets, his students gone, the common room in an absolute mess, and a bunch of pictures on the Teachers Group Chat, (taken by Present Mic no doubt) depicting Class 1-A's sleepover, the students splayed out on the floor, couch, chairs and clutching onto corners of blankets as they slept without disturbance, along with him fast asleep as well.

To his absolute dismay.
