The Ultimate Detective and The Ultimate Hope: Kiki's Martial Arts Training!

Chapter One: Nakajima's Revenge!

Ring!

"Okay, class dismissed." The teacher announced as the bell rung. "Have a good weekend, everybody."

As the students began to file out of the classroom, Kiki stood up from her desk and hummed as she began to pack her notebooks into her backpack.

"Hey Kiki, you wanna walk home together?" Tsumugi asked as she and Gonta approached the heterochromatic teenager.

Kiki smiled at her two best friends and nodded as she agreed "Sure, let me just finish packing up my stuff and I'll meet you at the entrance."

"Alright, come on, Gonta." Tsumugi agreed as she turned and walked towards the exit.

"Coming, Tsumugi!" Gonta replied as he hurried after the young cosplayer.

With her two friends gone, Kiki continued packing her books and pencils before she zipped her backpack up.

"There, all done, now to meet up with…"

"Meet up with who, Naegi?"

Kiki gasped as she found three teenage girls approaching her, one of them all too familiar to her.

"Na…Nakajima…" She stuttered nervously as she stumbled backwards, scared of why Nobuyo had sought her out.

"Surprised to see me, Naegi? I told you I'd make you pay for what you did, Naegi."

"Th…that was your own fault…" Kiki stammered as her back hit the wall. "You tried to get me co…convicted for something I didn't d…do…"

"Don't try and weasel your way out of this one, Naegi. I was just taking my revenge for what your parents did to Leon when they were teenagers."

"I…I don't know what you're talking about! My pa…parents wouldn't kill anybody! And even if they did, it has no…nothing to do with us!"

"Oh contraire! Making you suffer is the only way I have to avenge Leon. That's why I made sure to enroll in the same middle school as you, and since cousin Kanon won't help, I had to bring in some friends instead." She then gestured to the two girls flanking her on either side and introduced "Allow me to introduce my friends, Asuka and Shizuka."

Nobuyo then snapped her fingers before Asuka and Shizuka nodded and sipped forward, making Kiki shriek as she felt her arms pinned against the wall.

"Wha…what are you gonna do to me?" Kiki whimpered as Nobuyo grinned sadistically.

"I'm going to give you a small taste of what Leon had to endure in his final moments. Don't worry though, I won't be so cruel as to kill you. I'm just going to make you suffer, Naegi."

POW!

Kiki gasped as she felt Nobuyo deliver a strong punch to her gut. One after another, the punches came and went, bruising Kiki's stomach and making to poor girl cry out in agony.

"Please…stop…" Kiki pleaded, only to be met with a punch to the face, right over her hazel-colored eye.

"Quiet, Naegi, just stand there and take your punishment, like Leon had to."

Kiki whimpered as the punches kept coming, bruising her from head to toe.

POW! BAM!

Please…it hurts so much…please stop! I'm…I'm begging you! Please, make it stop!

"Hey!"

Huh? Kiki wondered as she dared to look up, her eyes weakly widening as she saw Nobuyo flung away from her, landing on her ass.

"Ah!"

"Gah!"

Asuka and Shizuka cried out as they landed next to Nobuyo, groaning in pain.

"Alright, who did that?" Nobuyo demanded as she and her friends stood up. "You're interrupting…"

"You leave Kiki alone!"

"Huh? G…Gonta…?"

Sure enough, Gonta's familiar brown and olive-green hair flowed down his back as he stood in front of the tortured young girl.

"Gokuhara…" Nobuyo growled, only for Gonta to scowl and angrily cut her off.

"Gonta doesn't think it's gentlemanly to be rough with girls, but…Gonta also thinks a gentlemen must protect his friends. And you're hurting Gonta's friend, so Gonta must protect her. And if Gonta must be rough with girls to protect his friend, then that is what Gonta must do as a gentleman!"

"Go…Gonta…" Kiki whimpered in awe.

"Nobuyo, let's get out of here." Asuka advised.

Shizuka nodded and agreed "Yeah, rumor is that Gokuhara's spent vacation getting stronger. He's not a wimp anymore; he'll break all your bones if you egg him on."

After a tense silence, Nobuyo spat "Well, I guess I managed to deal a thousand blows already. I'm satisfied for now. Girls, let's go." As Nobuyo turned around, she smirked at the terrified girl and threatened "See you next week, Naegi. I'll be back to do this all over again."

Kiki quivered in her sneakers as Nobuyo and her friends left, only for Tsumugi to rush back in.

"Hey Gonta, did you find Kiki…KIKI?!" She gasped as she took in Kiki's beaten appearance. "Oh, Kami! Kiki…what happened…?"

Overwhelmed, Kiki pushed her hand away and replied with tears in her eyes "Nothing…I have to get home…alone!"

"Kiki, wait!" Gonta and Tsumugi called after her, only to no avail as she stumbled out of the classroom.

"Gonta found Kiki beaten by girls. Gonta didn't protect Kiki soon enough." Gonta lamented in shame. "And Kiki ran away from us. Gonta…idiot."

Tsumugi shook her head and consoled "I'm sure she's just overwhelmed, Gonta. Just…give her some space, and she'll be good as new."

"O…okay…at lest let Gonta walk you home, so Gonta can protect you from bullies."

Tsumugi smiled and agreed "Sure, let's go, Gonta."

The duo then walked out of the classroom, though their smiles quickly turned to frowns as they lamented Kiki's suffering.

Please be okay, Kiki…

"Crap!" Kiki cursed, nursing her blackened eye as she saw her parents' cars in the driveway. "I thought they wouldn't be home yet! I can't let them see me like this!"

Kiki took a deep breath and circled around the mansion exterior until she arrived at her open window.

"Thank goodness my room's on the first floor…" She muttered as she grabbed onto the window frame and pulled herself over it, grunting in pain as she felt her stomach ache. "Ah!" She exclaimed as she fell onto the floor. "Oww…" She groaned as she nursed her aching body.

Knock! Knock!

Kiki froze as she heard the knock on her door, followed by her mother's voice calling out "Kiki? Are you there?" Kiki gulped, hoping this would be the one time she could fool her mother, only for that fear to be thrown out the window as she heard Kyoko call out "Kiki, we heard your voice coming from your room. Why didn't you come in through the front door?"

Her father spoke next, gently urging her "Kiki, come on out, please. Your mom and I are really worried about you."

"Nee-chan?"

"Nee-chan?"

"Nee-chan?"

Her siblings' worried calls being the final straw, Kiki sighed in surrender as she stood up and slowly stumbled to the door, her muscles crying out in agony with each step before she finally turned the doorknob, hiding most of her body behind the frame as her head peeked out. Her family's eyes widened as they saw her bruised face and black eye.

"Kiki…" Kyoko gasped "My baby…" as she strode over to her daughter and hugged the poor girl who, now surrounded by her mother's protective warmth, returned the embrace and cried into Kyoko's chest. "It's okay, baby. Mommy's here, mommy's here."

Makoto and his three youngest children watched sadly as the tender scene played before their eyes. After a minute of hearing Kiki's sobs, she finally separated from her mother, who frowned.

"Kiki, what happened? Why do you have a black eye…?" Suspicious, Kyoko reached for the hem of her daughter's shirt and pulled it up slightly, revealing her badly bruised belly as she continued "…and bruises from head to toe?!"

"Kiki…" Makoto asked hesitantly "…did something happen at school? Whatever happened, you need to tell us, okay?"

As a mortified Kiki pulled her shirt back down, Kyoko apologized "Kiki, I'm sorry, but we need to know what happened so we can do something about it. That's our job as parents, alright? Please, talk to us, okay sweetie?"

"Please, Kiki?" Her siblings echoed in unison, causing the teenager to sigh in surrender.

"Okay, I'll tell you."

"Good, let's sit down on your bed, okay?" Makoto suggested, making Kyoko nod in agreement. As his wife helped his daughter sit on the bed, he turned to his two youngest and directed "Koto, Kiri, get some ice packs from the freezer, okay?"

"Okay, Dad." The twins agreed as they turned around and left the bedroom.

"I'll carry the ice."

"No, I'll carry the ice."

"No, I will!"

"No, I will!"

As their argument got quieter and quieter the further the twins got from Kiki's bedroom, the tormented teenager couldn't help but give a small smile at her siblings' antics, though, it didn't quite reach her eyes. Mokubo meanwhile crawled onto the bed, holding Kiki's free hand with both of his own. She felt his gently squeeze it, feeling somewhat comforted by her brother's support.

"Alright, when Koto and Kiri come back with the ice, you can tell us what happened at school, okay?"

Kiki merely nodded at her father and took a deep breath, trying to draw up the courage to tell her family what Nobuyo Nakajima did to her.

"And that's what happened." She finished as she held one ice pack on her stomach beneath her shirt, while the other held a smaller one over her blackened eye.

Her family stared at her, their eyes filled with shock, horror, sorrow, and fury.

"Kiki…my baby girl…I'm so sorry…" Kyoko whispered as she rubbed her daughter's back, wishing that she could have acted to intervene before things got bad enough for her daughter to be beaten.

"It seems Nakajima wasn't making empty threats when she said she'd get revenge on Kiki. For her to go so far as to track down what middle school Kiki went to…it's insane!"

"Nee-nee…" Mokubo muttered sadly as he hugged his older sister.

"Kiki…why didn't you want to tell us? Why did you feel the need to sneak into the house and avoid us?" Kyoko gently questioned.

"…Because she felt embarrassed." Everyone turned to look at Makoto, who explained sagely "I had problems with bullies too when I was a kid, and the first time it happened, I was too embarrassed and humiliated to tell Mom, Dad, or Komaru. She probably felt the same way; Kiki felt so embarrassed and humiliated that she didn't know what to do."

"…How dare that Nakajima do that to our sister!" Koto exclaimed, clenching his fists in anger.

"For once, I agree with you, Koto." Kiri nodded, smirking mischievously as she suggested "I think it's time we got a little payback of our own."

Koto nodded, replying "Alright, I'll get the super soaker!"

"And I'll get the jump rope. Let's go and…"

"Whoa, you two, calm down." Makoto told his youngest children as he placed his hands on their shoulders. "It's sweet that you want to stand up for your sister, but if you recklessly went after her, she'd just beat you up as savagely as she did Kiki. Plus, violence and revenge just breed more violence and revenge. No matter how much you want to make someone pay, it's never the answer."

"But Daddy…" They whined, only to be silenced by their father's serious glare.

"No buts, you two. We will deal with this, but we will not stoop to her level, okay?"

"Okay…" They groaned in defeat.

"Still…I have to do something…" Kiki muttered, causing the others to turn to her as she spoke. "Nakajima said she'd do this again next week, and you can't have me protected twenty-four seven! Gonta was in the adjacent hallway, and he still didn't get here in time to stop it!"

Kyoko's brow furrowed as she concurred "…I understand, and you have a point. So, what are you suggesting?"

"…Teach me to defend myself."

Makoto frowned as he warned his daughter "Kiki, I don't want you going around and picking fights…"

"I wouldn't do that, Dad!" Kiki exclaimed tearfully "You know I've never thrown a punch at anybody in my life, and that wouldn't change! I just…" Kiki sighed "I just want to make sure I can't get hurt. I don't want to take any beatings lying down, okay? I want to be able to defend myself, that's all, Dad!"

After a tense moment of silence, during which Makoto searched his daughter's eyes, he sighed and agreed "…Alright, as long as you promise that you'll never start any fights, I suppose it would be beneficial to teach you some self-defense."

Kyoko nodded and volunteered "I can help teach her this weekend. And I'll call in someone else to help instruct her too, someone who's much more knowledgeable about martial arts than I am."

"Okay." Makoto agreed "You and your mother will do self-defense training every weekend with her contact. If they're who I think they are…" Makoto smiled as he finished while Kyoko dug out her cell phone and started dialing "They're definitely up to the task."
