I'M SO SORRY I DIDN'T DO THIS EARLIER!
Chapter fifteen
At the observatory, around the time Kipo woke up as Emelia's captive, Tony was showing off his technology by flying around a foot in the air using his thrusters. This came to an end when he lost his balance and crashed into the floor, making everyone laugh.
Good and Bad Billions walked in.
"Tony Stark, we have made a decision." Announced Bad Billions.
Tony looked up. Margot pricked her ears.
Good Billions spoke up "We have decided-"
BOOOOOOOOM!
An explosion tore through the window, scattering Wolf Mutes.
When the smoke and dust cleared, an unexpected sight befell them.
A platoon of Human resistance fighters, led by Hoag, who was currently standing on top of an old tank.
"Surrender, Wolves! We will make it quick!" He announced, waving a dart at them.
The human fighters raised their crossbows.
"Oh, so you're gonna kill them, right big guy?" Demanded Tony "You do realise promising to 'make it quick' gives no appeal whatsoever!" He raised a gauntlet, ready to fire.
Margot came up and hid behind Tony, peeking out.
Suddenly, something came to her ears. A voice from inside Hoag's tank.
Weird. A wolf Mute's hearing was good, but not that good. She tuned in. She heard voices. Whispers.
"...Shell... ...l...ded... ...pre... ...ire... ...ive..."
"...Ire... ...four..."
"Fire in three..."
Margot's blind eyes shot open. "Tony, they're about to shoot the tank!" She yelled.
Tony wasted no time. He shot an Arc reactor blast at the barrel of the tank near the middle. It split in two, the unattached piece falling to the ground with a clunk.
For a few seconds, everyone was silent.
Tony took the initiative. "Everyone. RUN!" He yelled, firing forceful blast at the fighters to distract them while the wolves ran. Unfortunately, they were armed with arrows, which Tony managed to avoid.
Tony leaped into the fray. He didn't want to harm them. After all, they were just civilians trying to secure the future of their children. He understood that mindset. When he was an arms manufacturer, he might have been careless with who he sold it to, but he was interested in protecting the future. Stop it from falling into 'Chaos' as Stane had once put it. Of course, this was just to try and convince him to go back to arms dealing, but he understood that these people were trying to create 'order' out of 'Chaos'.
Still, that didn't mean he was going to let them harm any innocent people. He just wouldn't hurt them too badly.
...
The Wolf mutes ran through the corridors, heading towards the exit.
Suddenly, Margot heard it. Near-silent footsteps, the quiet whirring of gears...
She could hear it. Why?
"This way!" Yelled Good Billions, running towards a corner.
"Wait!" Yelled Margot "There's something behind that corner!"
Good Billions ducked just in time to avoid a blade from slicing his head off.
A Klingenroboter stomped towards them from around the corner.
The Wolf mutes stepped back slowly, sensibly not wanting to get chopped in two. The blade made a loud *swish* and then a *clang*.
The robot pointed it's blade at them, and they ran in the opposite direction.
Good Billions stopped at a glass case containing a well-looked-after rapier.
"Mom's sword! Good idea, brother!" Cried Bad Billions.
"What's special about it?" Asked Margot.
"It belonged to our mother." Explained Bad Billions.
"I feel so reassured..." Muttered Margot, sarcastically.
Good billions charged with the sword, trying to stab the Robot. It simply batted the blade away, which landed next to Margot with a clatter, and kicked Good Billions to the ground.
Bad Billions launched himself at the Robot, slashed at it's camera head with his claws. The Robot simply grabbed him by the neck, and threw him to the ground.
Margot stumbled around, and stepped on the sword handle. She picked it up, and faced the direction of the sounds the robot was making.
She blindly swung the sword, and sliced open it's back. It fizzed, but turned to her. It raised it's arm. Margot couldn't see it was going to slice her. But she heard the *swish* of the blade. She guessed what was going to happen.
She leaped to the side, and the slashing blade missed her by millimetres. Bad Billions then Jumped on it's back and tore off the Camera with incredible strength. The Robot, without its vision, slashed blindly for a few seconds while the rest of them ran.
"How could I hear that? How could I hear the Humans preparing to fire?" She asked Billions as he led her by the arm.
"Wolves and wolf mutes develop faster than humans!" Panted Good Billions "Were you blinded recently?"
"Yeah!"
"Then your senses must be developing to make up for the loss of one sense. This can be useful!" Panted Good Billions, as they made their way to the exit.
Another Robot rushed in, pointing it's arms at them.
Bad Billions then realised something within seconds.
The Robot didn't have blades for hands.
It had three revolving airgun barrels for hands, with the loading and shooting process being taken care of by the wrists and lower part of the arm.
It fired a tranquiliser dart.
The dart hit an armoured breastplate.
Tony stood between the Mutes and the Robot.
The robot prepared to fire again.
Tony simply blasted it before it had a chance.
"C'mon! Let's get out of here!" Yelled Tony "Do you guys have transport?" He asked Bad Billions when everyone was outside.
Bad Billions simply smiled and took out what looked like a garage door opener.
The ground a few feet away opened up to a reveal a huge ramp going underground. They all ran down it, and came across a garage with a very large object covered with an even bigger sheet.
The Newton Wolves all took it off, and Tony couldn't believe his eyes.
Stood in the garage was an old civilian bus, very large and well looked after and modified, it seemed. It had an extension at the back, eight wheels, and a gangway connection like a train so the vehicle could turn easier. The glass windows had been replaced by closely-placed flat metal bars, except for the view screen, which was bulletproof glass.
"I call dibs on driving. Haven't driven an unused coach since middle school."
Everyone clambered in. It was quite a squeeze,
Tony clambered into the seat, and started up the engine.
"Just like they did it in high school." He remarked, before he saw something at the top of the ramp.
Emelia's fighters.
Tony started up the engine, and the vehicle began to move forward.
The Human resistance fighters fired their crossbows, but they all clanged off the side of the bus and the window bars.
Tony let out a cheer as they rocketed down the hill, leaving Emelia's pawns behind.
"So, what were you gonna say?" Asked Tony.
Good Billions smiled "I was going to say no, but your defence of us has inspired us to join you." Bad Billions nodded.
Suddenly, there was an impact at the bad of the bus. They all looked behind them, and saw a monster truck which a bumper attachment used for ramming behind them, crewed by two masked resistance members.
"Hang on!" Yelled Tony, stepping on it.
As the bus sped through the long-ruined streets, Tony did some math. The Bus was moving fast (the engine was probably modified) but a monster truck is 10 times faster than a car. It was only because of his expert driving that they managed to stay ahead.
As they got closer and closer to the forest, Tony saw something no-one expected.
A young child, maybe about five, standing in the road. He wore ragged clothes and had platinum blonde hair that reached his back. Not that Tony had much time to note his appearance, as he decided to turn sharply to avoid running him over.
This turned out not to be the smartest move, as the bus toppled over and rolled a few times, before stopping a centimetre in front of the child.
Everyone who wasn't unconscious began gathering anyone who was unconscious and climbing out. No-one had been seriously hurt, just shaken. As Tony clambered out, he looked at the kid. He was painfully thin and malnourished. Probably a scavenger. Well, he couldn't leave a starving kid behind.
He picked the struggling kid up, and carried him with the rest of the crowd.
Unfortunately, the monster truck caught up with them within seconds.
Tony raised his gauntlets.
"DAHLIA OWNS YOU ALLLLLL!"
Dahlia ran up behind them with her axe, leaping on top of one and kicking them into the truck, and then bashing the end of her weapon in the side of the head of the other.
Tony blinked "Nice one, kid."
"Thanks!" Grinned Dahlia, resting her axe on her shoulder "Who's the kid?" She eyed the child who was unsuccessfully struggling in Tony's grip.
"What's your name, kid?" Asked Tony.
"E-Eddie." Replied the boy, as he stopped struggling.
"Want some food?"
At that, the boy was sold.
"So, anything happen while we were away? Did Kipo and the others rescue Cap?" Asked Tony.
Dahlia nodded, her face growing sombre "Yeah. Yumyan's been cured."
AAAAAAANNNNDDD CUT!
Hope you enjoyed this chapter, I think it did really well except I also had to edit this after posting it because I added cure darts when Emelia hasn't handed them out yet my bad! Again, sorry for not updating as much as you and I wanted to. I've just not gotten round to it.
Favourite and Review!
