A/N: Hey guys! First off, I want to apologize for being away so long. I graduated high-school, got a new job, and have nearly started college, and almost bought me a car! I have been a busy bee, but I am back for now. And I hope you guys enjoy the chapter!
For those still using the 'song suggestion' – [We Can't Stop – Miley Cyrus] *try to keep in the background like at a party.
Enjoy! And shoot me a couple of reviews so that I know I'm going in the right direction!
BECK
As we arrived at Andre's party it was starting to get dark. I figured that it was his 'pre-grad' party since there was a banner hanging over the front door that said 'Congrats Grads!' Tori and I walked under the banner and headed for the backyard where the pool. We had arrived slightly earlier than most people do, but we were the closest friends of Andre.
Before we knew it everyone had arrived and it had started to get darker. Andre lived in a fairly secluded area, and his grandmother was out for the night. The music started pumping some music that was easy to dance to and people started filling cups. I wasn't ready to start drinking just yet, I wanted to wait and watch some people get a buzz first.
I sat in a chair around one of the two tables around the pool and looked around. Cat was sitting on the edge of the pool. Her toes were playing in the brink of the water and some guys that were already in the pool started were talking to her. Robbie was standing nearby absent-mindedly glaring at the guys in the pool. Andre was near the DJ, looked like he was talking to him about something important. I was looking for Tori when I caught sight of Jade.
She was laughing along with some guys near the fence and had a cup in her hand. My guess is though everyone had just started drinking, Jade already had a buzz. "Hey!" Tori swung around the umbrella pole from the other side of the table. She had a cup, too.
"Hey!" I smiled up to her now over my chair. "Should I start the drinking as well?" I gestured to her cup.
"If you wish, darling." She was making a joke in her fake, terribly fake, British accent holding up the cup to the air. I laughed wholeheartedly. Tori was still holding the umbrella pole with one hand and hanging over my chair.
"Alright, then!" I sat up, not wanting what was about to happen to unfold. She moved to the side and I headed for the kitchen. I got a drink from the cooler on the kitchen counter and popped the top. No hard drinks for me yet. I walked back outside, and stopped at the back door. I was leaning against the wall and scanning the party when Cat popped in front of me.
"Hi hi!" She was giggling more than normal.
"Hey, Cat!" I smiled back to her.
"How are you and Tori?" She was slurring a bit, and I supposed she had been drinking too. Maybe I was starting a little late.
"Great!" Have you seen her?"
"Yeah! She's over there." Cat pointed to a dance floor set up in front of the DJ. Tori was dancing away with one of her friends from school and... his hand... reached for her hip. I had to relax a little. I mean... we'd just started this thing right? She hadn't given me any reason not to trust her. I was just over-thinking and being a little jealous.
My thoughts were interrupted by a fully buzzed Jade. She swung herself in front of me and propped on the wall next to my shoulder. "Hey gorgeous." Okay so slightly buzzed was not the right word. She had been drinking for a while, and I could smell it very well.
"Jade, not tonight..." I turned to walk away and she caught my arm.
I turned my head to glare at her hand on my arm and then switched the glare to her face.
"Let. Me. Go."
"Beck, I just wanna talk."
"Well, I don't want to talk. We've been over this a hundred times."
I walked away and left her stranded there. I set my drink on the table and headed for the dance floor, where Tori was still bouncing all over the place. I touched her friend's shoulder and asked if I could cut in.
Andre, Cat, Robbie, Tori, and I danced most of the night away, and I had not really paid much attention to Jade. I knew I'd had too much to drink when I could see to walk to the bed room that I was sleeping in. I took off my shoes and my shirt and climbed into bed. The room was spinning around me and the bed wouldn't lie still. After a while I finally drifted off.
When I came to I didn't open my eyes. I felt a pulse in my head. I felt soft, warm skin wrapped beneath my arms, and the thought of Tori sleeping face made me want to open my eyes. So, I cracked them and immediately I nearly had heart attack.
I jumped out of bed so fast I nearly fell. "Morning, Beck."
"Jade?!" I gasped from the corner farthest from the bed. "Oh my god." I squeaked.
