An annoyed sigh escaped Sasuke's lips as he glared at all the... ruckus in front of him.
The streets were brightly lit with colourful fairy lights and lanterns. Various stalls were set up wafting smells of mouth watering food alongside other gaming stalls and pokemon figurine shops. The owners excitedly waved over customers who were strolling through the Summer Festival with their pokemons.
He was dressed in a dark blue yukata with the uchiwa proud on his back, leaning against a tree waiting for his teammates to show up.
"Pika... pika"
And judging from the irritated grumble, his Pikachu was also not happy with their tardiness.
"Same thoughts buddy," Sasuke replied scratching the mouse pokemon behind his ear; to his the pokemon let out a pleased chhuuu making him smile.
They had came a long way in this journey. Starting from hating each other to trusting each other more than themselves. All the bizarre adventure they had done, all the battles they had fought had brought them to this level.
He still remebers how, at the starting of their journey his team had a glimpse of the legendary Ho-oh. After that their interaction with legendary pokemons had somehow increased.
He grimaced thinking about that time when Mew, that small pink pokemon, had thought of Sakura as it's mother then taking her right in front of him and Naruto. He had never felt so helpless before as he saw her disappear.
"Oi, Teme!" a loud voice shouted breaking his musings and successfully turning a few heads toward it.
Hn. Idiot.
"Teme, where is Sakura-chan?" That was the first thing the blonde asked as he skidded to a stop beside him. "I bet she will find me more handsome than you.
Sasuke rolled his eyes eyeing the bright orange of Naruto in distaste. That idiot had no fashion sense.
"Pika,"
Apparently his pokemon thought so too as he voiced out his opinion in a flat tone.
"What was that, you stinky mouse?" Naruto growled.
But Pikachu didn't pay him any attention as his ears twitched and he jumped from Sasuke's shoulder into the arms of their final teammate.
"Pika... Pikachupi"
"Hey Pikachu," the soft melodious voice giggled as the yellow pokemon nuzzled itself to her cheek, urging him to face the familiar pink and green.
His eyes widened the moment they fell on Sakura. Her pink hair had been pulled away from her face with side braids looking as silky and soft as ever. The red kimono with the yellow obi and cherry patterns complimented her fair skin and slight blush of her face.
She looked... pretty. Like... a doll.
Instantly his face heated up at the thought and he looked away only to find Naruto openly gaping at her.
"Sakura-chan, wow, you are just so pretty," he gushed out compliments for her.
Sakura smiled brightly before turning her shy gaze to the dark haired boy, more nervous about his response. To her dismay, his response never came and it seemed he was determined to look everywhere but her.
Suddenly a loud bang echoed and the sky was illuminated with beautiful fireworks.
"It started, Teme, Sakura-chan. Let's go over there" Naruto yelled pointing over to the meadow on the river's edge. Pikachu's ears perched up as he jumped from Sakura's arms running after the whiskered boy after tugging at Sasuke's clothes.
Sakura and Sasuke fell into step besides each other, tensing when their hands came into contact. She blushed, admiring the silent boy when he turned towards her, his ears tinted a slight pink.
"You... you look beautiful." He murmured lowly his dark eyes looking into her green pools.
"Thank you, Sasuke-kun" she flushed at his words, her eyes no longer capable to stare at his.
"Hn. Let's go." He said grabbing her hand and pulling her towrds Naruto and Pikachu who were waving wildily at them; both their faces adjourning slight blushes and satisfied smiles.
