The cool night, dark atmosphere and the crescent moon presented a scenic view to the pink haired woman on the verandha of a small hut miles away from the nearest village.

It's always nights like this, that Sakura savored the most, drawn to the darkness of it all. Perhaps it's the quietness that night presents unlike the loudness of the bright daylight.

Or perhaps it's just the memories of the dark haired, onyx-eyed man that haunts every moment of her life.

She feels a deep emptiness with a familiar pang in her chest as she remembers her long lost lover.

"You must go on, Sakura," the man grunts with effort to last a little longer.

"No, no, Sasuke-kun," Sakura sobbed, desperately trying to close the gaping wound, but the both knew it was futile.

"Sakura..."

"Please, do not say such things... I cannot... I will not... live without you,"

"But you must... for both of us..."

"N-no Sasuke-kun..."

"I-I promise... I will find you in my next life... Will you wait f-for me...?"

Another sob escaped her lips, tears streaming in never ending rivulets. She does not want to live without him, she couldn't bear the pain of losing him. She couldn't. He was her everything and they had promised to spend the eternity together.

Then why, oh why... was he leaving her behind?

"S-Sakura... will y-you?" He begged, his dark eyes solely focused on her green eyes.

"I will..." she vowed. "I will wait for as long as it takes... for you my love."

"T-Thank you, I will s-see you next t-time..."

And he peacefully took his last breath in the arms of the woman he loved, his promise to find her now carved into his very soul.

A lone tear slides down Sakura's face as reminisced that memory. It had already been five centuries since then and she still waits for him to this day.

Afterall... they were two halves of a whole.
