"Tony! Angela!"

They were walking out of the Starlight Ballroom hand in hand when they froze, turning toward the voice.

"Kathleen…"

"It's nice to see you both," she said as she came over to them. "And it's nice to see you here together," she winked.

Angela gripped Tony's hand tighter without realizing it.

"How have you been?" Tony asked, his voice noticeably higher. "I didn't see you inside."

"I'm here with my boyfriend," she said, gesturing toward the parking lot with her head. "He's getting the car."

"Boyfriend? That's great! You hear that, Angela? Kathleen has a boyfriend!"

Both Angela and Kathleen rolled their eyes, Kathleen more amused of the two.

"Yes," she laughed, "don't you worry. I saw you two walking out and I wanted to say congratulations. I should have known that was you out on the dance floor. It makes sense now."

"Oh," Tony started to say, "we're not-"

"Thank you, Kathleen," Angela said over him, linking her arm with his. "You, too."

"Both of you take care." She smiled and waved as she walked away, disappearing as quickly as she came.

Leaning into Tony, Angela asked, "Are you okay?"

"With you at my side? Of course."

Something had changed between them tonight. For whatever reason, Nick and Jenny's story had a profound effect on each of them. For the first time, they saw proof that relationships like theirs could work. While they agreed they couldn't regret going at their own pace, it didn't stop them from wondering. What if they had given in to each other blindly years ago? Would things have worked out as wonderful as they had for the older couple?

There was no sense dwelling on these sorts of questions, though. Tony needed to do what he thought was right, even if he had strayed from that path for a while. As for Angela, she was just happy to know that he had intended on inviting her to the ballroom all along (and even happier that the only regret in his eyes had been aimed at her when Kathleen approached). As long as she knew they weren't at a standstill, she could handle taking things slow. Although, judging by the way Tony had held her when they danced, she had an inkling that their time wouldn't be too far off.
