Hello everyone! NaughtyCat9 is me and NaughtyCat9 is now posting the first bit of this story! This is just the first chapter, told from Marinette's perspective. Anyways, with all that out of the way, I hope you enjoy reading this first chapter. Now, without further ado, let's take flight.
Why Do All The Monsters Come Out At Night?
"What are you doing, Mari?" Tikki asked, as she floated over to where her charge was working at her sewing machine. The girl just simply smiled and gave a wink in the little ladybug kwami's direction.
As she worked she was humming along to a song that was on her phone. It was called Monster, but the bluenett didn't remember the name of the people who wrote it.
"Why, do all the monsters come out at night?" She looked up and glared holes into the picture of Shadow Moth on her computer screen.
"Why do we sleep where we wish to hide?" She sighed and blinked in confusion at that. She didn't understand that verse.
"Why do I run back to you, like I don't mind that you ruin my life?" She sighed and pulled a face, maybe she should just go and date Luka.
"Another day, 'another headache in this hangover hotel," Marinette just rolled her eyes and dismissed the thought. She would never think of hotels without being reminded of Chloe.
"Gettin' used to the rhythm, yeah, I know this beat too well. Tunnel vision's got me feeling like you're the only one I see But I know what's missing when I'm swimmin."
"In my lonely luxury!"
"I'm wondering why do all the monsters come out at night? Why do we sleep where we want to hide? Why do I run back to you, Like I don't mind if you ruin my life? Why am I a sucker for all your lies?
Marinette sighed and took out her sketchbook, while still singing to the toon. "Strung out like laundry on every line. Why do I come back to you, Like I don't mind if you ruin my life? I'm addicted to the way you hurt, the way you contradict me I swear everything look worse at night, I think I'm overthinking
"I don't care who I might hurt along the way, I'm sinking. Into every word, I don't care if you're lyin' when I'm drinking, so, tell me pretty lies, look me in my face Tell me that you love me, even if it's fake. You can lead me on and leave these questions in my sheets. I'm under it, I made my bed and I'm still wonderin, I'm wondering why do all the monsters come out at night? Why do we sleep where we want to hide? Why do I run back to you, Like I don't mind if you ruin my life?
Marinette sighed and pulled up a picture of Adrian on her computer screen, sighing softly as she remembered that he had a girlfriend now. "Why am I a sucker for all your lies? Strung out like laundry on every line Why do I come back to you, Like I don't mind if you ruin my life? Thinkin' about you, you're in my head. Even without you, I still feel dead. Why do I run back to you, Like I don't mind if you ruin my life?
"Dead, thinking about you, you're in my head. Even without you, I still feel dead. Why do I run back to you, Like I don't mind if you ruin my life? I'm wondering why do all the monsters come out at night? Why do we sleep where we want to hide? Why do I run back to you, Like I don't mind if you ruin my life? Why am I a sucker for all your lies? Strung out like laundry on every line. Why do I come back to you, Like I don't mind if you ruin my life? Like I don't mind if you ruin up my life."
"Well that was a strange song," Tikki commented with a laugh and a cheeky grin on her face. "Huh? What do you mean by that?" Was Marinette's response, and the little ladybug kwami just sighed.
"What are you thinking in that little head of yours, Kiki?" She asked and the kwami just grinned even wider. "You'll see," She sing-songed, looking down at Marinette's phone, she floated up to the girls face and whispered something into her ear.
