Chapter Four:

While the Potter-family and their closest friends were aware that the young Hazel wasn't human but a Yokai, it wasn't until a few months after she was born her exact species was revealed. A pair of fox-ears and a total of nine fox-tails sprouted from the top of the young Yokai's head and tailbone respectively. All of which were covered by black fur that had a certain shine to it, not much unlike Hazel's hair, which was mostly the same as her fox-ears and tails' fur, except for a collection of strands that would most likely become a streak of light pink hair falling down into Hazel's face once she was older and her hair longer.

It was Sirius that identified what species of Yōkai Hazel belonged to. She was a Kitsune, a Nine-Tailed Fox. When his friends asked him about how he even knew, the answer was that his family has had various connections to the much larger Supernatural World for several generations. While he wasn't entirely sure whether or not it was true or not, one of his ancestors supposedly had a very brief relationship with a previous leader of the Yōkai-faction in the past. Managing to get lucky and sleeping with the then leader of the faction.

It was thanks to the old connections of the Black-family that the Potter-family managed to get in contact with the current leader of the Yōkai-faction, Yasaka, who really hit it off with Lily. While neither the Kitsune nor the Witch ever got to meet each other in person, Yasaka happily accepted to take young Hazel into her household should something happen to Lily and James and the other potential guardians were… unavailable for some reason.

Little did either suspect that such an event would happen rather than should. And that the event would happen sooner rather than later.
